This made six victories in a row tonight. Crawl me out of ~1200

It was a crazy game. He played the Karo Cann 1. ...c6 and I tore up my own kingside to capture his bishop but all it amounted to was me keeping the bishop pair with no material advantage. I castled queenside and cracked open his kingside with my h pawn, his queen ran havoc in my center, I skewered his rook on the back rank which made up for my material losses, but he almost check mated me. He just didn't have quite enough to force anything. There was a moment where I almost forced a draw because he had way more pawns in the ending.

What was his next move?
He basically surrendered by capturing my Knight with his Queen. I played Qh8, which is checkmate. His Queen had in a way been 'skewered' by my bishop, threatening his king's only escape square, so his only other option was to take the bishop and play the endgame with an insurmountable piece disadvantage, being a queen down.

Couldn't he have moved his king left 1?

Yeah but you're still trading the queen for the bishop in that scenario. You got your king out of the line of fire but it's still very much losing.

What move did he play before this if you don't mind me asking? I'm assuming e6 since I doubt you'd have moved your bishop there if that pawn had been there the turn before.
He moved his Queen. Previously the square my knight was on could recapture the pawn that takes the bishop and fork the king and queen. Then the pawn got pinned by my queen. He had to make a pawn move near his king when I played Qa8 to prevent smothered mate, then I moved the knight to threaten his Queen into position, and the board reached image in OP.

It doesn't bode well, but I don't know if it's a guaranteed loss, particularly if you make a mistake.

I mean it feels like he was kinda boned before this point. It's not a bad move though.

I feel like black had sufficient compensation for the bishop. That pawn is ready to barrel down the board. White was probably already better before black's blunder but I had low time on the clock and one wasted move is the difference between cleaning up and their pawn promoting to a second queen
