There's a few different ways to do it IIRC. Get the gear that makes you immune. Or get the potions that you can also cook yourself?

I like stuff like that in BOTW but it isn't for everyone.

Because Horizon was a more traditional open world game while BOTW is significantly more freeform.

Great game. There's a million different ways to approach any situation. I've played through normal mode 100% once and Hardcore twice. Definitely one that'll get replayed every couple years.

One of the only really glaring flaws I can think of is weapon durability. Fuck that mechanic, it's never fun in ANY game that it's in.

Weapon Durability was my biggest gripe as I felt it did nothing to deliver on the game. I understand they put it in for the "survival" aspect of the world, but all it turned into was replace weapon (For instance Royal Greatsword) over and over once you max out the enemy tiers.

i got bored of it. it was too much like all the other open world games and i don't care enough about zelda to put forth the effort to finish it

it was a good game but not memorable for any particular reason

I liked the weapon durability because I treated it more like Dead Rising. Weapons are disposable. They're not really a big reward or anything. Throw them. Light them on fire. Use them as lightning rods. They aren't important. If you use the weapons that the enemies you're facing currently use you're not wasting anything because you instantly have a replacement.

I hope the sequel gives a better way to switch between them though.

I sorta just degenerated into a playstyle where I'd climb a nearby hill and just bomb-snipe.
What sort of bizarro-world is this where bombs are infinite, but everything else is an expendable resource?

I wasn't a big fan of it either tbh. I kinda stopped playing it last month after beating the 4th dungeon, boss or whatever you want to call it. Like I want to see what's so special about it, it seems so... plain to me.

Yeah, answer this user, TC. I want to hear your complaints as well especially since you consider Horizon Zero Dawn, the most boring and uninspired generic open world game of that year, to be better designed than Breath of the Wild. I hope you're not afraid of people dissecting your complaints.

Eh I didn't like it. I'd even go so far as to say I hate it. It's one of the worst games I've played in recent years.
The only good thing I can say about it is that it wasn't broken.
I have in the past posted full posts on the Switch board when people call me out as a troll when I say I don't like it or when they say I didn't play it.

And I beat it TWICE, never 100% but at least 80 hours both playthroughs and one in master mode.
The second time was to try to play it as others suggested I play it. My opinion didn't change one bit, it was actually worse since in master mode enemies have health regeneration. That's not difficulty, that's tedious.
