How do you play a game you hate twice through totaling 160+ hours? If I'm not enjoying myself a few hours in I move on to something else.

First time because I bought it, I don't return games, I don't sell them off. I intended to have an objective opinion on it and that required me playing more than a few hours. I feel that I have to finish my games even if they suck, unless they're literally broken and I can't advance.
The second time as I said previously was to play in hard mode and try to play it the "right" way as per suggestions on the Switch board.

Seriously I've seen almost as many people say that they grew tired of it as I've seen people say that it's grown on them.
I tried to like it, I really did. It just didn't live up to ANY of my expectations. It let me down in every single way imaginable except of course that it was at least functional. It wasn't without glitches but those were rare so I can't hold them against it.

Nothing about it made any sense even within its own world. I guess that's fine if you don't like thinking about the "story" but if the player is meant to disregard it, why try to include one in the first place?
A common response to that is "lol you expected a story in a Zelda game?" To which I would say: Yes. Yes I did. If not now then when? Never? If that's the case then all future Zeldas have failed me and I'll just go back to my favorite: ALttP.

Whatever I don't want to talk about it anymore. I just don't like it BUT I'm glad (and perplexed) that others did. You can't please everyone.

I am looking forward to BoTW 2 mostly out of curiosity to see if they will fix any of the "issues" I had with BoTW 1. I will be getting it day one but if it is mostly similar to BoTW 1 I will just drop after 10hrs at most. (Probably).

Great game. There's a million different ways to approach any situation.
This. The physics are great, and the world was super fun to explore. Never felt like I was running out of stuff to do, or places to go.

It's one of the few Zelda games I actually managed to get through.

I can't believe he has the audacity to enjoy something you don't enjoy. I sure am glad you made this topic just to illustrate how much better you are for not liking a video game. Thanks TC.

It sucks. I couldn't get into it.

I hardly consider it a Zelda game honestly.

I kinda skipped the posts but, did you really drop the game because you couldn't figure out that there's an item you can make to get through the mountain, or that was just the last straw?

Gave up trying to climb a tower surrounded by wizards and alligators or something.

This happened my 1st playthrough but then on my 2nd I breezed through it for some reason.

I like how I know exactly where you're talking about. It's one of the best memories I have from the game honestly.

I think the game was something the series needed honestly, but there's definitely things they could improve on.

I don't mind BotW but I have no desire to search for all the seeds or literally do everything.

I did all the shrines, story and memories. That's pretty much all significance content. I'll sum up some of my issues.

-Weapon degradation was just tedious. It didn't add to the game. As people pointed out, enemies drop the gear like candy anyways.

-Did I mention the enemy variety sucks? It does.

-Not as many ways to handle situations as people keep saying. You either bow them, bomb or flurry attack. The environmental interactions were very specific.

-Not much reason to explore other than to grind materials for equally pointless armor. They could have gave us endgame gear to work towards. Like if you slayed the beasts you unlock the option before the final boss.

-The game ultimately mimicked every other open world game vs being its' own.
