If someone came in with an altered suit and said "well, it was for a wedding but the groom died", policy wise I'd have to turn it away. I can't let the personal story cause me to deviate from policy. Now when i was a manager I'd have some control over making a one time exception, etc, but i fully understand that some places don't allow that regardless of the situation... But then they had to make that FB post and just overall act like complete pieces of shit about it. As a consumer i fully get this guys desire to fight for his refund as well. It doesn't sound like they have a written policy.
