Do you play multiple games at once? How many is too many to play at once? What that most games youve ever play at once? How many games are you playing right now? Maybe more questions later...

Also, in this topic, when I say at once, I dont mean at the same exact time. More like during a time period or whatever. When I say right now in this post, I mean currently playing in this time frame. But not at this exact time. But you can also answer if there is something you are currently playing...

I usually prefer to just focus on one game at a time.
It's kinda exhausting playing multiple games at once.

I remember those good old days when I was younger, I could play the shit out of the newest game I've bought, even if the game was kinda mediocre/bad.

I spent my hard earned money on that game and my God I'm gonna make it worth it.

Nowadays? I can lose interest in a game even if it isn't really that bad which is a shame.
I want to finish all games I have but I lack the energy and willpower to do so.

Is time a factor, by any chance? I know many people have an issue due to lack of time.

It could be but it really depends on the individual.

I mean, after work I usually don't do much.
I have the free time to play a lot of my games but I'm always so dang tired so I usually end up wasting my time on my phone or resting on my bed.

It's kinda depressing really : /

Technically I'm playing about 400 games right now lol

In all honestly I'm constantly juggling about a dozen games that hold my attention.

I buy a lot of games, and my "process" is that I'll play each game as I buy them just to check them out. If the game manages to hold my interest, I'll keep playing it. If not, I'll shelve it and play something else. This is why my psnprofile is so full of unfinished games...

In an ideal world, I'd like to go back and finish (almost) every game I start. But the reality is that between work and family I simply don't have the time, and probably won't in the foreseeable future.

Currently playing:

Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Luigi's Mansion 3
Mafia II Definitive Edition
Mafia III Def Edition (already finished the game and working on DLC)
Huntdown
Unravel 2 (co-op with my son )
Super Mega Baseball 2
Wonderful 101 Remastered
FF VII R (already beat it, going for a couple trophies but prob won't bother to platinum)
Freedom Finger
Snowrunner (currently stuck due to a glitch I think)
Kamiko
Void Bastards
Dragon's Crown
Below
My Friend Pedro
MediEvil
La-Mulana
Volume
7th Sector
Metro Exodus
Aragami
DBZ: Kakarot

Also been dipping my toes back into RDR 2 doing challenges

Been mulling over finishing Days Gone

Pretty much always playing a little Skyrim...

Just beat DOOM 2016

That's a lot. But I can get like that sometimes, as well. Starting it to see how it is. I got better at finishing them, as I was bad at most when I was younger. Now I can usually finish them.

I generally focus on 2-3 games at a time. Anything more than that and some of them inevitably get neglected to the point where it's hard to pick them up again. I usually try for fairly different games, too. For a while it was Dark Souls 3 and Animal Crossing, but I started up a new modded Minecraft world and Dark Souls has taken a bit of a back seat (Minecraft and Animal Crossing have more overlap, though where I'm playing a modded game, there are enough differences to keep things interesting).

Try to keep in at a lower number at a time? That's a good idea. I get into too many at once. Though, switch helps since I can play it anywhere...

I tend to stick with one game until I beat it or I'm bored with it. I have a lot of games I've never finished because I get bored and quit then next time I start over again.

I like the focus, though I also like having a bit of variety, which is especially important these days where I have so much free time. Having the games be too similar can also lead to control confusion, like the time I tried playing Dark Souls alongside Monster Hunter. B is the dodge button for both games, but the B button is in different places on the 360 and WiiU controllers. I don't think I need to explain any further why I quickly stopped trying to play both of them at once.

I usually keep my save files, but depending on the game it can be tricky as most games are designed to ease you into learning the controls and such. Starting cold in the middle of the game - at a difficult part I was stuck on (which is probably why I took a break from it in the first place) - can be a bit daunting and discouraging and lead me to taking another break in short order lol

When you process dodge do you think b to dodge? I cant even tell you what buttons are even on my Xbox or switch controller without looking at them, I just think about location. Even now I cant say what button location does what in games, getting the moves just sort of intuitively happens when Im holding the controller but not when Im not holding it, can execute combos but not say what they actually are unless I count it out.

Have you ever thought about returning to ones you haven't finished? Like after finishing another game or something...

Variety is good. I like having a little variety, as well... If I don't, I might get bored of both (or all of the) games around the same time... I've also mixed up controls MANY times in my life... So many times...

I guess it would still be confusing. Since the placement is different. I know that even in muscle memory, I'll push the wrong buttons because I'm thinking of another game. Haha.

Not usually, but I do reach for whatever button I instinctively associate with the action I want. The problem with Dark Souls and Monster Hunter is that they are very similar games (combat-wise, anyway. The overarching game structure is very different), and I started them at around the same time, so I was trying to develop the same instinct for two different button locations (usually with very little time to process that, given the nature of dodging), made worse by the fact that if I did try to think about which button I needed to make up for the underdeveloped instinct, I couldn't remember where the button was. It just didn't work well, so I focused on one of them (MH, as it turned out) and went back to the other one later, when I didn't have that confusion.

It also wasn't just dodging. I was hitting X/Y for attacks in Dark Souls and R/L for them in MH, neither of which worked very well (more so in Dark Souls because one relies so much more on staggering there, whereas it just meant a missed opportunity in MH), dodging instead of opening doors, and all kinds of other control mix ups. It just worked better to separate the two games.

Playing at least a dozen, if not more, games at the moment

I have a bit of a problem when it comes to backlogs

I can't focus on one or two games at a time otherwise I get bored

I like to have a nice variety of games to play at any given time

It's especially nice for games like Ni No Kuni where I want to enjoy every moment and not rush it by playing it non-stop for a week until I beat it then never again

Depends on the games, right now I am at 3. Normally I have one that I play with friends (currently Empyrion), and one I play solo (currently Final Fantasy XIII). If game #2 is annoying and/or boring, I'll have another easy to pick up game (currently Ultimate Doom) that I play on the side to cleanse my pallet so I don't completely rage quit #2.

I used to do 5 games (one for each weekday) but I found it hard to focus on them when I did that.

when i'm playing multiple games, time is definitely an issue, so i've abandoned any notion of ever finishing a game in a timely manner. i finish games way after friends and people who post here, but i'm ok with that, ok?

typically, i'll play a game until there's a good stopping point or a break in the story, then i'll pop into another game until another natural break point happens, and rinse and repeat.

right now i'm playing persona 5 royal, last of us, and red dead redemption online, ok?

I would say more than one a day is a hassle , I've got so many things to do that I barely have time to seriously game.

If I do have time ( rarely ) , I like to switch between 3 games a day ... animal crossing, skyrim and some other game like pokemon or civilization6 or monster hunter

I always have a main game and a side game where the side game is not exactly story driven but more task driven, Harvest Moon for example is a great example for a game you can pick up and play here and there between main games (which would be heavy games like AC or Sekiro), games like Terraria, puzzle games etc all would fit as side games, Undertale was a main game which became a side game at the end when i did the genocide route because it became a repetitive task which you can't do for more than 2 hours without losing part of your sanity.

I usually have a game going on each system I have access to.

Right now I have:

Phoenix Wright Trilogy (switch)
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus(ps4)
GBA: Final Fantasy VI Advance
Vita: Spelunky
3DS: Persona Q2 (but I haven't played in a while).

Those are my main focus. But on ps4 I technically have Control going too.

Do you still tend to complete the games. Also, while I do see the appeal for making the game last longer, wouldn't you still get about the same total play time?

I've done that before. Where I've had another game so that I didn't rage quit one. Haha. But I haven't had to worry about that in while. As for one each day of the week, almost sounds like youtubers. They do that a lot...

Everybody finishes at their own pace. I don't think it really matter much who finishes first or anything. I know I go slower than many other people online at a bunch of stuff. Haha.

It can be easy to focus when it's just one game. I can easily burn myself out, though. I think that happens when it's only one game. Then I have to take a long break...

I can understand that. I do enjoy the pickup and play games in between bigger games. I have games like that myself...

I kind of go back and forth. I pretty much always play some Rainbow Six Siege throughout the week. Maybe an hour here and there. Maybe 20 hours.

And Ill usually play one main game, and maybe a few side games. Like I put 80 hours into Skyrim over a few weeks and didnt play much else. Or SnowRunner much the same. But right now Im playing Siege, SnowRunner, Terraria, and My Summer Car just kind of in rotation to whatever I feel like at the time.

I've done that before. Sometimes, I get really into a game where I put most of my free game time into it. Other times, I spread the love a bit around. Haha.

I remember doing that a while ago. I had 4 new games. One for Xbox One, one for Playstation 4, One for Wii U, and one for 3DS. The 3DS was easy to play whenever, but I had to switch around stuff to play all the console ones. Also, I LOVE the PW games. And I've always been interested in Spelunky. Also, I haven't played Q2, but I did have the first one...
