my job makes us wear them too, even though it's not a public area, and the sheriff of the county it is located in said they won't fine anyone w/o them.... pain in the ass because it's hot out, and wearing it while having to work makes it far worse

I have OCD and strongly dislike having things come in contact with my lips/mouth. I hope these restrictions are lifted soon.

p.s. If I enter a store, and they tell me to wear a mask, that's fair. It's a private establishment and they get to make the rules. But if I'm in public it shouldn't matter unless it's a crowded street. (and I don't see many crowded streets lately since everyone is staying at home)

If this was actually about a virus as deadly as MSM is making it out to be, I would agree with you, but it's a political scandal. Logical thinking.

Most claim that they're logical thinkers because they infer the opposite to mean they're dumb, which no one wants to admit, so they get defensive and scour little Google searches until they find "evidence" that backs up their thinking-- but ignorance doesn't necessarily mean that you're dumb, it means you just need to try seeing the situation using a different lens.

Obama, Bill Gates, the WHO, the Clintons, and many other high profile names are behind this bullshit. Sometimes you can't tell people the truth, so you have to show them.

People like the majority of this board are the reason this is prolonged. It would have been impossible to tell people the truth before conducting military operations while everybody is safe in quarantine without tanking the market (you can still go to the grocery store).

We are witnessing the systematic destruction of everyone who makes our lives miserable through debt, Divide and Conquer, and split party bullshit that never made sense.

I refuse to wear a mask. Fuck that. I hardly go outside anyway, only to go jogging. My wife wears a mask out of respect for people who are scared, she is more considerate than me.

This is only about mail-in ballots for democrats (so they can cheat), but if people can wear masks to Walmart, they can sure as hell go to cast a vote and still practice social distancing.

I don't see an issue with it, honestly. Better safe than sorry, I always say (and if you are the carrier with no symptoms, at least you'll greatly limit the chance of infecting others).

It sucks, but it doesn't suck as much as inadvertently killing your own parents.

Provided it's paired with a guaranteed supply and provisions are made to help people who can't afford them get some, sure. Otherwise you're just setting people up for failure and unjust fines. Should also probably specify wearing them properly (with clear instructions for doing so), so the idiots who don't understand how they work are properly dealt with.

That's all well and good, except when you disregard precautions surrounding a highly contagious disease like this, you are taking away other people's ability to make choices about their bodies. The old "your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins" concept. This is not simply about personal safety, as much as the "don't tell me what to do!" crowd seems to thing it is, it's about limiting the spread of an extremely contagious disease. You're not being asked to wear a mask and stay home to keep yourself healthy, you're being asked to wear a mask and stay home to keep everyone healthy.

Again, that's all well and good, until you consider that it's impossible to stay home 100% of the time. People need food and other essential supplies, and precautions like this help to minimize the number of new cases that arise from people filling those needs. There are also those that simply don't have the option of staying home due to being considered essential workers, who are endangered by every single person that doesn't comply with recommendations. To simplify it to such a degree is hideously selfish and inconsiderate of everyone around you, and you should not expect the law to respect such nonsense.

No. The masks people are using aren't good enough to stop viruses anyways. It'll help sure, but it gives you a false sense of security.

Just go in, get what you need, and get out as quick as possible. Don't talk to people, don't get near people.

Plus, I had a couple of shop masks in my cabinet, and that's it. I've yet to see any more masks in any store. If I didn't have my shop masks, then I would be out of luck, how are you going to expect everyone to have a mask during a mask shortage? And not allow them to get food if they don't have one? And again, homemade masks most likely aren't good enough to prevent viruses from getting through

I need glasses for distance, and hearing aids for being partially deaf.

constricted breathing doesn't feel good (it gets hot, and my nose starts to run a bit), which creates steam, and the steam escapes under my glasses. and the mask ear loops get caught in my hearing aids, so now I have to take them off to untangle :( :( ... even tried wearing a neck gaiter, and was told the bottom part was too loose, so will just deal with disposable masks

Should everyone? No. If you show no symptoms then no as it's a waste of time and resources for the most part. If they have COVID-19 then you should as that's the main point of it. Although if you have COVID-19 you really shouldn't be out at all. I see no issue with folk who wear them to be on the safe side just incase they have something unknowingly but it shouldn't be a requirement in general.

Part of the reasoning I heard for that is because the county hasnt made it possible for people to get free masks and is not distributing any to individuals that cant obtain/afford them.

No i do not think it should be mandatory but if a business or employer requires it then I guess we have to abide by that or just stay home.

Where I live beginning Monday all businesses are requiring people who enter to wear a mask and if you don't, they won't allow you in.

I figured that's why the store hadn't done it. By making it mandatory, some people wouldn't be able to buy essential supplies if they didn't have a mask.
