Yes, those horrible failures that are... the happiest and most prosperous countries on the planet?

Seriously, look at any list of the happiest countries on the planet or the ones with the highest quality of life or the ones with the highest per-capita wages or the ones with the lowest income inequality - they're all dominated by Scandinavian socialist countries and the US usually isn't even in the top 10.

They tend to get happy first then enact socialism. You can't have a system on fair treatment when people don't want to be fair to their neighbours.

both parties are complicit because it aids them both and it forces this dumbass game theory political chess where a vote for anyone except a particular candidate is perceived as a wasted or negative vote

it makes people like you simplify down to IF YOU DONT VOTE FOR BIDEN THEN I GUESS YOU'RE A TRUMPER, simultaneously bleating about how terrible third parties are for leeching votes while at the same time whining about how bernie isn't a "true" democrat and he should have ran as an independent

Uh yeah, I've argued basically exactly what you said in another topic about the 2 party system.
But whatever Biden's past may be regarding race relations, we do have FPtP voting, and Trump is the alternative choice.

Yes, they most definitely are. Their beholden to the donors. Not us, the people. The donors, lobbyists, are their boss. And their boss say absolutely NO to Bernie. So their choice was simple. Give it a shot with Joe, and maybe lose... but either outcome the corporations will be happy. But allowing Bernie was never an option for them.

But... we cant stay home either. Trumps racism alone is causing real world issues in communities where such issues were resolved decades ago. Racists are feeling more and more embolden. My black friends tell me what they go through but its even worse for the Mexicans.

I just hope that if Biden wins the primary, he doesn't make the same fucking mistake that Hillary did. The 2nd biggest mistake of a campaign full of them (only slightly behind her brilliant decision to not even try in the Rust Belt and just assume they were locks for her):
Picking another establishment centrist as the VP

Not enough people talk about what a colossal fucking error it was to pick Tim Kaine, who did nothing to help her except maybe help win Virginia (but others could've done that, too), rather than choose a progressive running mate to excite the youth voters and heal the rift from the bitter primary fight w/ Bernie.

Biden needs a progressive VP who'll appeal to young and Latino voters. Prove w/ actual actions that he's going to include progressive voices in his inner circle and work with them, and not just be yet another conservative corporate "neoliberal" that abandons the base.

Honestly the benefits of Biden is that he is actually really good at convincing senators to vote for things. So even if Bernie doesnt get elected, theres a chance democrats could pick up some senate seats and actually pass some bills, even if they arent as progressive as a lot of us would like.

Yeah, like I said...2nd biggest mistake after ignoring the Rust Belt and other battleground states in the area.

I worry Biden will have a similar problem when it comes to young voters -- complete lack of excitement at the prospect of voting for him. Bernie apparently is still massacring him in the youth vote, they just didn't show up as much as the older ones Biden won. But that's the thing...they're easily discouraged, and Dems really can't afford to let one of their biggest voting blocks feel apathetic about this election.
If he doesn't find a progressive VP that can motivate the younger voters to turn out on election day, he's fucked, just like Hillary.

That last one sounds like a gross mis-characterization...
All the Dems want to provide everyone with Medicare at least as an option. It's just some want it as an option and some want it as the only primary health insurance.
The weed thing is so politically inconsequential now and legalization becoming so popular that I could see him bending on that once elected.
Tuition costs...yeah, tough luck? He'd probably be fine w/ lowering interest rates and other small measures...

As for other things to excite them...environmental issues seems like an easy one. Raising taxes on the wealthy and the capital gains tax rate should be slam dunks as well, but he's probably tied to the corrupt Delaware corporate tax avoidance structure... :(

The wealthy already pay the majority of all taxes which pays for all the free shit that all the useless moochers demands. When said useless moochers actually pay their share, I'll give a shit about their demands for more free shit.

The current events have sent a very clear message: the so called "progressives" are a fringe group of loud mouths who don't speak for the democratic voters. The moderates, who aren't crazies, don't give a fuck what the commies want.

Let's put it this way.

A person who is 10x richer than you is not only 10x better off, they're also 10x more able to get richer than you. The gains from wealth are exponential so inherently the tax should be exponential too. They pay more money, but that money is easier to come by so is less of a contribution relatively.

A person with no spare money has no means to get more income but if they had some money then they would have the means to get more. Giving everybody some spending money means that everybody can get exponential growth. If Jeff Bezos who's at a level of planetary saturation of financial growth get more money, that money has limited growth. This is bad for the economy.

It's why feminists have been given EVERYTHING they've demanded and more and yet STILL demands that more free shit be thrown at women and that society is soooooooo unfair and toxic.

It's a fact of life that when you give money to irresponsible people, they don't tend to get richer, they just end up wasting more money and demanding more in the end. Everyone? No. But the overwhelming majority.

Reality of life: The wealthy already pay for everything the moochers demand for. Until the moochers pay their share, they don't get to ask more. Fair?

Pete doesn't owe it to Bernie to stay in the race.
And if Sanders needs a bunch of moderates to split the vote so he can sneak to the nomination despite getting less than 50% of the votes in most states...that's his problem.

Biden had taken the lead among them, and Pete's prospects in the Super Tuesday states weren't great even before the SC blowout. At this point, he was just splitting the vote and hurting Biden.
