The Orange Cassidy vs. PAC match was a thing of beauty.

Other notable stuff:

- Hager vs. Dustin. Okay match that Hager wins.
- Darby Allin vs. Sammy Guevera was tons of fun. Darby wins.
- Page & Omega vs. Young Bucks was a legitimately incredible match and Hangman Page is FUCKING OVER LIKE HELL. This match is awe-inspiringly good and I recommend checking it out because god damn did these four go wild and Adam Page is GREAT. Page & Omega retain and Page teases killing Omega dead.
- Nyla Rose vs. Kris Statlander was okay. Nyla wins.
- Cody vs. MJF wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be and felt a bit overbooked honestly, but it was good. Needed more Cody just wanting to destroy this asshole. MJF wins after hitting Cody with the ring.
- Orange Cassidy vs. PAC is just great. Just so great. It's so much fun. Wrestling at its most fun. Just watch it. PAC wins after Lucha Bros interference.
- Jericho vs. Moxley was awesome. Santana and Ortiz selling the referee's ejection was the best bump I've ever seen. Jericho was being at his smartest by trying to blind Moxley's good eye, and Moxley is stumbling around, trying to hit Jericho because he can't see, then suddenly dodges a bunch of strikes, hits some moves of his own, and takes off his eyepatch, revealing his hurt eye recovered and he could see out of it just fine. So he hits his finisher and becomes the new champ.

This show was so much fun and I didn't feel insulted at all watching it. AEW makes me love wrestling.

Remember how Santino was originally hyped up as a stromg tough guy before he debuted as a comedy guy?

Imagine if when you really pissed him off he would revert into that and beat the shit out of heels, but otherwise be his normal goofy self. Wouldn't that make him that much better of a character and that much more hype?

Except that part of his character is that he is basically a wrestling prodigy who could hang with everyone if he actually cared and worked at it.

But he is lazy and doesnt really like wrestling so he doesnt. He just hangs out because his best friend loves it.

So yeah he can hang with the big boys when he goes all out.

Just think of him as a Shonen character.

Orange Cassidy doesn't hulk out. He legit just decides he wants to try and fight instead of just fucking around. Like he toyed around with PAC at first because PAC was toying with him. And then the moments that PAC let his guard down, OC went all in on him and just tore the place down.

Like if you saw the match from start to finish, you'd understand a lot more what his appeal is and I would find it impossible to not want to see Orange Cassidy pull off the upset.

My original post was all over the place, so let me see if I can make it make sense.

AEW has this insane hype surrounding it from all sides, whether people like it or hate it. This "salvation" against WWE's boilerplate nonsense. I watched it, didn't get it, thought people like Omega and the Young Bucks were "cool, but not as great as they are hyped up to be." and I just think the expectation I have is so high BECAUSE of that, what I remember from AEW was...ok.

Something like NWA has none of that baggage. It was a short, sweet, absolutely different style of show, almost no wrestling podcast talks about it, doesn't try to be some alternative to WWE. It just exists in its own place and bubble. Easier to handle and watch as an outsider looking for a new thing.

I mean, you could always just try to go into a show watching it for the fun it is? Also, Meltzer has been just as critical of it when the time called for it. In fact, he was more down on it for a while and made some negative predictions about it that didn't come true because they did a complete turnaround on what wasn't working.

I can't imagine placing my enjoyment on something based entirely on what certain people are saying about it.

But that's just it. I DIDN"T enjoy AEW. Not enough to keep up with it, but because it is the major 2nd promotion, it feels weird to not care about it at all.

Okay? I don't know what to tell you then buddy. lol I can't help you work through your not caring about it and feeling that's weird. All I can say is "try again".

All I know is that I've fallen out of watching AEW for a while due to lack of access (although I'm trying to watch it by less-than-legal ways now), and I came back to one PPV and remembered why I've wanted to keep watching it. It's just fun wrestling that strives to give you the best show possible. Even stuff I was down on wasn't even bad or anything.

After thinking about it some more, I think all I know for sure is WWE is rotten garbage. I think I'll give AEW another chance, because god forbid, there's enough wrestlers on there that something would grab me.

Really fun match. I think you might enjoy it Strife. The story of the match is 100% PAC is better and dominates Orange but Orange wont go down easy and catches PAC by surprise whenever he let's down his guard.

Revolution was a very strong pay per view. Halfway between a takeover and a wwe ppv. Omega, page, and the bucks was incredible. Orange Cassidy is incredibly entertaining. Cody and mjf told a solid story. Jericho moxley was very entertaining given how old Jericho is.

Overall the thing that stood out to me most was the consistent quality. There wasn't any of the bullshit baggage wwe always pulls like with Lesnar. It was just overall an entertaining night of wrestling. And for me that's all I need it to be.

I don't think it is meaningfully better than nxt has been at it's high points. It just doesn't have the baggage that next has because of the shadow of Vince McMahon waiting in the wings to ruin your favorite wrestlers in 6-18 months.
