Anakin in his prime would not have his lightsaber stolen from him and he'd be able to stop a building from falling on him. Even Jean Grey could stop that.

Getting towards the end of the list...I'm just having trouble seeing how even the best vader has could compare.

If we're just talking about who has the quickest draw though...and it comes down to force choke vs any number of quick draw things Magneto could also do I'd still give the edge to mags. If he does things like stop mjolinar with his powers I'm not seeing the speed of vader raising a hand to force choke being a problem either...plus the force choke death isnt instant...got to actually choke to death first.

Star Wars characters generally arent on the same power level as comic book characters unless you're reading bad EU. Magneto should wipe the floor with Anakin or even Yoda.

Can't Magneto at his peak break things down molecularly?

Ani never reached his peak, at least not before becoming vader and Vader was in a freaking metal suit = instant death from Mags (force choke actually takes a few seconds, he could start choking Mags and still get crushed like a tin can.

Pre-metal suit it would be more of a match, and depend a bit on distance as well, but the light saber for instance is a very very dangerous weapon that in theory only jedi can use because the slightest error leads to chopping off your own limbs. It's made of metal.

Yeah, Ani could use the force in theory to fight mags control over metal, but he has to KNOW about it first, and mags just has to make a tiny slighty change in trajectory of the lightsaber and poof dead Ani.

The futher away they are from each other the more advantage mags has as well, and that isn't even talking about top of the line best mags powers, just his normal every day pays basically.

The force can't really compare to mags power, in theory he could take on yoda, Ani, Luke, Quin, Obi, pali, snook, Ben, Rey and a few others tossed in, and win pretty easy.

I meant non-phoenix Jean Grey. There has been times when Magneto is trying to push metal objects towards Jean Grey and she can stop it with just telekinesis. Anikin has telekinesis. To pull his lightsaber from him wouldn't work cause he could just stop it. That is something Jedi and Sith train to do so their counterparts can't just yank their saber away from them using the force.

I read that list that was posted earlier and most of them sound ridiculous and stupid. I'd be interested in seeing how Magneto can do things like mind control from manipulating chemicals. Or disperse energy. Those don't seem like something magnetism should be able to do. But most of them seem to be from spinoffs and different universes.

Magneto can do things like: lift football stadiums, lift submarines, fly, move asteroids, tear open trains, hold a falling jet in place with its engines running, etc.

Vader can do things like: choke someone a few feet away, throw large containers around

it can make Magneto overpowered fast if you take it too far, but manipulation of magnetism would actually be more powerful than Magneto is usually shown. Electromagnetism is what holds matter together, it's why objects are solid, it's why light shines and travels. pretty much all macro-level physical phenomena are a result of electromagnetism. the only things that don't apply are nuclear forces and gravity.

He can't stop everything and Magneto could use metallic objects to shield himself. Not to mention that the film show that force telekinesis of larger objects is difficult for users.

It is interesting that they never had one force user just use the force to tweak the light saber a bit so it kills it's user. You would imagine that wouldn't be that hard at all, and there would be no fore-warning.

Yeah, i fyou knew it was going to happen you could fight against it, but your talking about like half an inch movement and BAM that lightsaber is in your skull.

And before you say, oh they can just deflect it etc, how come they can use the force to push each other etc away, or hold their arms stationary etc? If you can lift a whole body up with the force or throw someone across the room, you can also move a small little metal object (or actually just tilt it) a quarter inch so the lightsaber blade goes into a users eye.

Fight 1:

Magneto floats in on one side of the Arena, Vader walks in on the other. They are about half a football field apart to start. Magneto senses the metal surrounding Vader and crumples it like a tin can with his mind. Vader barely senses danger before he is recycled.

Fight 2:

Magneto floats in on one side of the Arena, Anakin struts in on the other side with his lightsaber drawn. Magneto doesn't sense too much metal on his opponent, but noticed the lightsaber is made out of metal. Magneto tries to wrest the light saber from Anikin's grasp but anikin uses the force to resist!!! Anakin starts running towards magnito ready to give him a lightsaber enema, but Magnito gets bored and just crumples the lightsaber into tiny small metal pieces and then sends those repeatedly through anikins skull.

After the fight in both cases Magneto looks up at the crowds watching the battle, including many powerful jedi from both the light and dark side, very powerful mandalorian's, and bounty hunters of other types, a few Hutt's etc, and because they interupted his vacation, he takes all the metals in their guns, body armor (mandalorion suits includes) and creates a giant metal whirlwind that shreds everyone in the arena around him, wipeing out the most powerful people in the star wars galaxy instantly. He then turns around and heads back for his morning tea and to play some chess with an old friend.

Anakin honestly, the force can protect against a lot of things, which is why Anakin and Obi-wan didn't just burst into flames on mustafar

Anakin ony got set on fire after Obi-wan cut off 3 limbs (living tissue is a big part of the force) and reduced his force powers

If we are actually talking about magneto at his most powerful, he was able to affect just about anything by altering the magnetic field of molecules if I remember right.

Future tech is actually weaker vs magneto though since metals are used more often in such a case.

He does have weaknesses though, and a very strong dark jedi that was able to channel a ton of force (to create a huge lightning storm) could possibly take him out from a significant distance, especially if Mags didn't know it was possible etc.

The speed of lightning is extremely fast, so, in theory if you could shoot an extreme amount of force lightnign at magneto, without him being aware or having something to instantly block it with, that might work.

Still 99/100 times i'd vote for Magneto against any jedi/sith....and 100/100 vs anakin or vader because both have significant weaknesses. Anakin barely had the ability to use most dark side powers at all, especially force lightning that would give him any sort of chance, and vader was basically a walking tin can for mags to crush, the only chance either would have would be taking Mags totally by surprise.

Thats not even true, living tissue is an important part for the force, and after getting all his limbs cut off he was weaker than he would have if he didn't lose his limbs, he still learned how to master it but he was in a pretty big disadvantage to palpatine mostly because he was weaker in the force, pre burned Anakin is his most powerful form unless you wanna talk about a hypothetical future Anakin that didnt lose all his limbs and get burned badly all over his body, including his insides he would have been the true chosen one and make yoda and palpatine look like chumps
