Due to his phobia of hearing his own voice. I hate my own voice too....but Im also not an actor. He really needs some deep therapy cuz that sounds like a shitty way to live life as an actor

Most of hollywood is this way. A lot of actors dont watch the movies they are in. What's more surprising are actors who have terrible stage fright and will vomit before doing a play to calm their nerves.

I was just wondering, does he not attend the premiers of movies he's in? I am really curious now if this is a legit phobia or him just being dickish about something he doesn't like. I want to know what happens if he's in a room alone watching TV and a Star Wars commercial starts playing and the remote is all the way across the room on another table and also he's been eating hot wings and he doesn't have a napkin.

Almost everybody doesn't like hearing their own voice because our voices literally sound different in our heads than they do out loud so it just seems wrong, it's not something unusual.

Yeah ever since I started LPs I've been self conscious about the voice.
I can feel him. Having other people watch it near you, I can totally get being super embarrassed.

He's been pretty forthcoming about his un-comfortableness about it. He always leaves when they show film clips or anything like that. The only movie/movies of his he's watched were the Star Wars ones just because he is a fan of the series but I think it was an ordeal for him.

Either way, it's NPR's fault entirely. He was on the show a few years ago with the same host and they had this issue where he flat out told them he didn't want to listen to a clip from whatever movie he was promoting and explained why. So at best, they couldn't do their homework about a guy they had already interviewed and had this same situation pop up. Or at worst they are just manufacturing controversy during awards season with a front runner.
