I'd say sure I play shit like Xenoblade, Dragon Quest, and Pokemon - more dangerous than things like zelda or tetris, but not as dangerous as whatever all that noise at the end is.

My coworkers know I play video games, I don't hide it. My boss came to me to ask about the Switch, he's thinking of getting one for his kids.

I try to dodge as much as I can, but I feel like after a certain age it's better to say Zelda than CoD. With CoD there's a perception that gaming is a bad habit that you haven't been able to drop. With Zelda and Mario, gaming is more something you do to kick back and relieve stress.

This is kind of a strange poll. You dont even give an option for... you know, the truth.

If it's someone who knows nothing about games I'm pretty vague because there isn't much point to bring specific. Otherwise I just talk about whatever I'm currently playing. I don't play anything too weird though.

i ask what they play and give my initial reservations about the game. looks like a series of radial quests from different locations or give the excuse i had for not trying the game.

ive gotten others to play in the game and it felt like a chore to keep them entertained and playing. they simply aint into the mmos i play tbh and thats fine. i aint bending over backwards to keep them playing.

I think this is a pretty solid rule.

Basically, if you can't say the name of your game without Japanese words, you should just say "What the fuck is a video game?" when asked by the general public.

I mean, unless it has a ridiculous name, if you reveal your power level and it's higher than theirs then they wouldn't even know about it anyway. If they actually decide to check it out because of you then I think your relationship would be at the point that they wouldn't care what you're into.
Plus the fact that they're asking you usually means they're testing the waters themselves so I'd think it's courteous to be upfront.
