Rules:

1) Players are divided into two divisions. Each round, players will face one opponent in two categories. These categories are: "Fight" and "Pitch".
2) "Fight" matches should be voted on with the following criteria: "Who would win in a fight?"
-Characters are expected to have the abilities (and limitations) from their last living appearance.
-All fights will take place on a habitable uncolonized moon of Saturn where there is a temperate climate, water, air, flora, fauna, etc.
-Teams are kept in an isolated, impenetrable chamber prior to the beginning of conflict and are unaware of their opponents until the fight begins.
-The only directive supplied to these teams is that they must defeat their opponents. If the do not attempt to do so, Earth will be destroyed.
-Voters should consider the potential conflicts within teams as a factor (can characters with negative relationships work together), as well as the intelligence of the characters, resourcefulness, etc.
3) "Pitch" matches should be voted on with the following criteria: "Which pitch would make a better series?"
-All pitches must take place in the Marvel Universe (616). No alternate realities or future skips, etc. It must take place alongside the rest of Marvel continuity.
-All characters drafted must be included in the pitch, although you may simply namedrop them. But no character can be skipped.
-Voters should consider team name, roster, cohesiveness, quality of concept, and whether the team fits with the concept, among any other criteria they wish to consider.
-Voters should NOT consider whether a dead character is suddenly alive in this pitch. Voters SHOULD consider other aspects of team status; if characters would make sense working together, if characters have abilities that are mutually exclusive, etc.
-Pitches should be one paragraph (No more than two).
-Players can rewrite/rework their pitches between each round.
4) Anyone who is not involved in a specific match can vote for either team in either category. The player with the most votes in one of the categories will get a win in said category.
5) After each player has faced seven opponents, the players with the best "Fight" records in each division will face off and the players with the best "Pitch" records will face off.
6) Rosters each week will be made up ONLY of 6 members of the team. Every character must be active against at least three distinct opponents. Every character must also be inactive against at least three distinct opponents.
9) Between rounds, players may make one-for-one trades with any other player.
10) Rosters must always house exactly ten members.

Generation X: The Xth Generation
Warren Worthington III has decided to use some of his resources reviving the formerly-defunct and often troubled Massachusetts Academy. It had long been a splinter school for training new mutants following the methods of instructors who in ways differed with the vision Xavier and Cyclops had for the X-Men, a tradition Archangel intends to continue and revive. In order to make the new Academy a success, he has managed to recruit one of its original instructors, Banshee to provide and former villain Havok whose unique perspective on the world helps to serve to counterpoint the idealistic Archangel and provide a well-rounded education - though more often than not this leads to a layer or two of angst illustrating the conflict between cynicism and idealism that defines Generation X. Banshee represents the middlepoint between the two having seen such devastation in his life - losing so much to both mundane terrorism and mutant-specific terrorism, yet still seeing such hope and potential for the future. The book is defined by the 7 coming of age stories for each of the students as they grow as people, particularly focusing on Mercury, Leech and Jubilee, while new mysteries surrounding Hollow's past, the St. Croix twins present and of course the future of mutantkind. Expect of course to see your standard X-Men romantic angst, this time featuring the unlikely pairing of Leech and Nicole St. Croix, a troublesome crush by Paige on Havok and the deep aromantic friendship of Hollow and Mercury clashing with world shaking dangers challenge the beliefs and ideals of our heroes. The big money draws of the book are Archangel, Havok and Jubilee, and the book intends to make stars out of Leech and Mercury.

Fight Lineup:
Havok
Husk
Leech
Hollow
Mercury
Banshee

When Deadpool asks what it is Wolverine is looking for in a team he simply answers efficiency. Deadpool goes out and recruits Quicksilver and Polaris. Satisfied with the recruits, he is given the nod to build the rest of his team.

..To which becomes filled by Karma, Anole, Warlock, Box, Captain UK, and Puck. Although very skeptical of the motley crew, Wolverine finds some relief in his old friend Puck. He tells Deadpool that its up to him to keep these, what he assumes to be stragglers in line. Deadpool assures them that they will be more than just efficient, they will be Xfficient.

Match #3
Lopen vs. Shaduln

RetroaXtive
Bishop arrives from the DARK FUTURE during a battle between Magneto's Brotherhood and the X-Men, attempting to eliminate the assassin of Senator Kelly, an X-Man. Bishop's time travel device is broken in the fight, and Magneto attempts to make him an ally after the battling, and realizes he really is from the future as he describes a plot he and Mystique were hatching but had not done yet.

Magneto has more ambition than simply not eliminating Senator Kelly, however. He would rather attempt to manipulate the future for mutant supremacy. Beast investigates the time traveller, finds the story believable, and joins the group for the greater good, alienating himself from the X-Men in the process. Doctor Nemesis is recruited to try and help Beast repair/replicate Bishop's Time Travel device. Deathlok is brought in to help decide optimal courses of action with his probability calculator. Domino is recruited because sometimes luck will help even the best plans along. Others are mostly manipulateable muscle, though Whedon's law background opens some alternate approaches. Basically the dynamic is Bishop and Magneto both trying to 'fix' the future but with Magneto (and Mystique, who can screw with projected future events really well with shapeshifting) trying to subtly manipulate things into a heavier skew towards mutants/their own gains, which causes strange interactions as most of the team is more directly aligned with Bishop's goals, with Beast and Dr Nemesis being particularly hard for Magneto to outwit undetected, even with a shapeshifter in his corner.

Fight Lineup:
Mystique
Dr Nemesis
Domino
Deathlok Prime
Firefist
Rockslide

AmazonX
After helping to rescue Danielle Moonstar, Hippolyta founded a new group of female heroes with Moonstar as the leader to defend against the Doommaidens. After defeating the Doommaidens, Hippolyta left Moonstar to continue leading AmazonX to face threats to the peace.

Match #4
NBIceman vs. Snake
X-trinsic
En Sabah Nur, unwilling to place all of his hopes for mutantkind on the machinations of the rest of Krakoa's leadership, covertly assembles a so-called Black Ops team tasked with responding to threats unforeseen by their newfound method of foresight and that may require solutions hinging on fuzzier ideas of morality than those that a nation seeking recognition as a legitimate society should visibly undertake. Namor the Sub-Mariner, angry and distrustful toward Charles Xavier after the recent revelations of what the latter did to his mind, agrees to head the team for the good of mutants. Also selected is Victor Creed, secretly freed by Apocalypse from his recent punishment but threatened with even harsher consequences should he go rogue again.

Other members are recruited for a variety of reasons. Some look to escape the troubles of their past. Some merely have useful skills. Some simply regard it as a necessary evil. The one thing they all share is that, despite Krakoa's promises of complete harmony among mutants, they still don't quite belong in this new society. They are X-trinsic.

Fight Lineup:
Forge
Frenzy
Hellion
Lady Mastermind
Oya
Spiral

X-Mortis
If Fantomex has returned from the Astral Plane, that could only mean one thing: danger is on the horizon. Branded with a mysterious symbol, Fantomex discovers 6 other mutants also share the same markings as he. While Glob Herman, Marrow, and Shark-Girl are more than eager to step away from the recent mundanities of life on Krakoa, the long-retired couple of Wicked & Freakshow want little part of what Fantomex is spewing. And don't even get us started with Lifeguard! But, as the threat of the Shadow King begins to reemerge, paranormal events start occurring world-wide, and mutations start to go haywire, Fantomex is able to spur the marked mutants into action with a little assistance from the guiding hands of experienced mentors Strong Guy and a matured Broo. What do their markings mean? Why did it target them? And could a certain reptillian devil really be the key to putting an end to all this madness? In this story that's part Hellblazer and part Cronenberg, X-MORTIS examines the realities of living with physical mutations, being comfortable with your body image, and the struggles of keeping your promise to be a better person and become a hero worth remembering.

Fight Lineup:
Fantomex
Glob Herman
Lifeguard
Strong Guy
Broo
Devil Dinosaur

So I'll get the ball rolling (not voting yet, just starting convo) with my thoughts on the pitches:

Future of X - As if the X-Men universe isn't already overly complicated right now, we're throwing a team together to battle potential futures, on top of the potential futures already set up in Marvel. I get the idea that this is a little bit like an Exiles team, but Storm as the star of it actually does the concept a disservice. I would be more on-board with someone leading the title who had some vested interest in the future, like Rachel or Nathan. Storm feels shoehorned into this role.

Otherworld X - I'm on board with this line-up (although I don't see how Dark Beast fits in the pitch really aside from pure happenstance), but I think the pitch screams story arc, and not the anchor of a series. But right now I'm leaning to this over Future of X purely because I think the line-up can plumb some depths of B-Listers who couldn't carry a title on their own but always would bring flavor and personality to series.

Generation X: The Xth Generation - I'm not personally a fan of Generation X, but this pitch does a good job of having some faithful follow-up to the original series while also carving a unique niche for itself. There's a good mix of vets and future stars, and Husk is a major plus for this title. I wish there was a little more Generation X in this line-up, personally, however.

Xficient - Not really a fan of this one personally, but maybe you can win me over. The series' concept screams one badly written joke premise with no real follow-up. Why do they exist? Why would Deadpool even choose most of these mutants? Why would Wolverine allow any of this to happen? I feel like there are better ways to get a Wolverine/Deadpool team-up. Ultimately, I don't feel like the three big drawing cards here (Wolverine, Deadpool, Quicksilver) are being used to the best of their abilities, and no one else on this team really impresses me.

RetroaXtive - Strong mix of villains and Bishop-y gimmicked Xers. I absolutely hate Beast on this team. He sticks out like a sore thumb and does no one any favors. Dark Beast? Sure. Beast? Yuck. And that's not to say the character is a bad character, just that he doesn't jibe here at all. The concept feels a little bit like it would loose its focus after about 10 issues, once an immediate threat is resolved with Senator Kelly. Not sure I see where it goes beyond that. But the line-up is fantastic outside of my complaints.

AmazonX - Aside from my misgivings about all-female teams in recent years (bad titles with bad sales at Marvel), this series could be interesting. A lot of my issues are superficial. Why isn't Moira MacTaggart the Charles Xavier to Rogue's Cyclops on this team? AmazonX also sounds like a bad VIP plan for delivery services. And I really don't like the partial Excalibur thing going on unacknowledged. But the concept is wide open and the membership is pretty good.

So I guess I will take the first step and offer my initial thoughts on just the pitch part without voting yet, I'll wait for people to make a few arguments first.

Mega Mana vs. MegamanX
I think Mega's sounds the most like what a real X-Men series would be like, though I'm not completely sold on the premise or roster. Time and space travel is very overdone, and there's no one character I would really enjoying reading about there. Otherworld X has somewhat of a clunky set-up but a way better cast, especially when you have Madrox on your side. My vote right now leans towards MegamanX.

Eddv vs. Scare
Eddv's use of the past is well-done and compelling. He uses the roster he chose to its fullest, and the only thing I can say is that is very X-Men, for better and worse. Scare's sounds like a very Deadpool focused book, and pitched like a comedic book, and well, I guess I'm just tired of Deadpool. It could work but I don't really see a proper through line in it I suppose. Vote leans towards Eddv.

Lopen vs. Shaduln
I was ready to write-off RetroaXtive as another boring X-Men time travel story, but no, I actually could really get behind. The cast really sold me, and I could see this as being a series-long take on the Booster Gold issue where he tries to save Barbara. For AmazonX, I'll just say you have Captain Britain on your team and it sounds like you're not using Captain Britain. Vote leans towards Lopen.

NBIceman vs. Snake
I thought we weren't supposed to have 11th members, which is what Apocalypse sounds like. Ignoring that though, I think it needs a stronger thematic sense, and I don't think the members gel very well, but I won't say it lacks all potential.

To elaborate on my pitch, basically the Shadow King was not eradicated fully and has been participating in eternal battle against the mind of Fantomex, who has been keeping him at bay. However, the recent death of Nightmare has caused the Nightmare World to become vacated, leading Shadow King to try and tap into the power of that world, since it borders the astral plane. This throws Fantomex off, and he loses against the Shadow King for the first time. Fantomex would basically use the psychic bond between Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur to help transfer his consciousness to a new physical form. The markings are caused by the Shadow King attempting to brand so called ugly mutants and turn public perception even further against them, in addition to using nightmare abilities to create new monstrosities and make it appear as though their mutations are out of control. In addition to body horror being a main focus, I also wanted to focus on Fantomex attempting to be a better hero in keeping his promise to Xavier but as the threats X-MORTIS faces get worse and more complicated, he struggles with the past side of him.

I'll give thoughts on the other pitches in a bit when I'm not on mobile but I just wanted to justify Beast a bit cause I feel like scarlet thinks I took him just cause he was the top rated guy left

I envisioned Beast as the angel on Bishop's shoulder to Magneto's devil. I think without the subtle inner team conflict it loses focus after Senator Kelly stuff, yeah, but the idea I had in my head was mostly dealing with problems Magneto himself creates with Mystique's help by trying to mess with the future (since they only need to make it a plan to see how the plan ends up working and want to work against it-- you can create a lot of frame jobs). So while Beast is at odds with the team dynamic I also don't think Beast is the type to tear things apart outright either.

With Dark Beast you don't really have that dynamic imo cause dude probably is alright with Magneto doing Magneto things and it's just like you said where does it go.

For some reason it cut off my X-Trinsic and Mortis-X.

X-Trinsic - I'm ignoring the Apocalypse aspect because he comes across like a free member to the group, and without him, there's... not a lot here. Namor is the most valuable pick in this entire draft because he could take a team in a really fun, different direction, and I don't think he's well-utilized here. The line-up itself, however, is a lot of fun. The big names all have that gray morality, so I would focus on Namor pushing a regime of his own with a group like this.

X-Mortis - The most well-chosen group on this list. The concept is very clear, unique and succinct. I think the damning thing here is that the series would be cancelled due to a lack of starpower killing the sales. I think you need, more than anyone else, 1 star. Otherwise this title would be doomed to be a forgotten cult classic.

That's even worse. This implies that Bishop can't serve as his own good in response to Magneto's supposed evil. And the fact that Magneto needs to be placed in the devilish position lessens the impact of his words. And if Beast is counter to Magneto at every major moral moment, why is he on this team? Bishop should have strength of character enough to pushback against Magneto in those dramatic moments without a blue bear nosing in.

Because it's not a direct counter. It's subtle. Magneto isn't outright saying "heh let's kill all humans and make mutants the best"-- you're not wrong that Magneto is morally grey and not a straight up devil character which is why they can work together

But Magneto is straight up smarter than Bishop by a lot and has a Shapeshifter to help him and so if you don't have a Beast there to help Bishop piece together why certain things might not be working I don't see it being a very fair conflict. I see it being Magneto manipulating Bishop ad-nauseam

It's not "gosh guys what do I do" with Beast arguing one thing and Magneto arguing the other it's "why isn't this working out how I envisioned it working for the best we need to figure it out" and Beast acting as the one guy on the team who is probably closest to Bishop's actual goal, with the rest not caring about the details as much or trying to manipulate him

I do want to elaborate on some of my pitch thought processes.

Mercury is like a one liner dropping more talkative girl. And shes angry and has a bad home life and just wants a place to belong and that's really why I envision her as one of the breakout stars here. I think Hollow does make a great foil for her as Hollow really doesn't speak at all but can sort of communicate and Hollows problems are really far more basic. I also see the Nicole-Hollow-Mercury relationship as really having potential.

Obviously in an ideal world I'd have Monet and Synch in place of the M Twins but I am sort of pleased by what I was able to do with them. Leech + Nicole struck me as a good idea because I think Nicole having an autistic twin is one of the few who would give someone with the sorts of inborn problems leech has a chance and I think it places Nicole into an oddly central role where shes playing big sister to Claudette and Hollow while still trying to carve out time for herself.

As Snake said this is for better or worse a VERY X Men title. Generation X is a book all about teenage angst and the assertion of a cynical worldview emerging in place of childhood innocence BUT this is still a team who's major stars are Archangel and Jubilee. They symbolize that Havoks way of doom and gloom really isn't the only way. You can be idealistic and care about things once you emerge on the other side of your teenage years. I also think positioning Husk as the character most caught up in that particular dynamic does her a lot of good especially since her powers allow her to physically manifest her emotional state which I think in the hands of a good artist would be hella memorable.

For what it's worth I would definitely want Kenneth Rocafort for this book

I was brief in my summary (thinking of a quick summary for solicits as the pitch), but I actually think Storm is a balanced leader for the team. Though Rachel and Cable are the lieutenant generals, they both have their own futures that may compromise some missions for how close things might get to what they were trying to prevent in the first place, and Storm would be much more concerned about the balance and making the hard choice to do what's right for the present.

She's tough when she needs to be and makes strong, fast, hard decisions when they need to be made. She can have a commanding presence that earns fear and respect, but she also has a gentle touch that would better keep someone like Daken from acting out and Genesis feeling aspirational and motivated to be his best self.

I feel both Rachel and Cable are great in their roles, and are better without the full burden of the decision-making of potentially heavy consequential choices.

As far as team roles -

Storm: Balance and leadership, making the hard choices to do what's right for the present course even if things look far too bleak

Prestige: The moral compass. She has probably the most and best ties to the group as the best friend of Widget (Kate Pryde), close kinship with her "half-brother" and later adopted son Cable, wild child with a dark past and famous father (and Grey/Howlett chemistry) with Daken, and the hopes for finding a better future despite a superpowerful destiny (Phoenix/Seeds) hanging over their heads with Genesis. She is the core character and the one most books would have a narrator's focus on. She can question decisions and provide emotional and moral viewpoints that lend better gravity to what their team encounters.

Cable: The Commander. He's not always Mr. Military Man, but he's excellent at die hard situations and making sure everyone gets put alive. He can be counted on for the high-risk missions, but there's a tenseness he can't shake if things are going well or better than expected. Where Rachel brings some form of optimism, Cable, despite raising Hope and his future looking ever more a distant possibility, still can't shake some pessimism, a quality that hurts any relationship he has with Genesis but keeps a steady, realistic weight to things that may be tpo good to be true. A healthy amount of paranoia to keep the team guided true.

Danger & Prodigy: The Brains. Danger is a super advanced alien AI who can connect and process information quickly while Prodigy is a super genius retinue of information who can sort through everything and focus on the relevance. Both can work separately and in tandem, often providing different sets of data, logic, and viewpoints to snd from every mission to help deduce the best course of action.

Shatterstar & Daken: The Brawn. They are there to fight when fighting's needed and get out slive doing it. They rarely if ever back down when the going gets tough, and what happens if the tough parts are familiar future faces trying to keep you from doing what's best? I also think between Rachel, Daken, and Shatterstar (with a side of Kate, potentially, and Prodigy), there's some soap opera romantic angles that could lead to much more believably risque flings than most books.

Widget: The Ghost in the Machine. Literally. Widget can teleport the entire team across time and space, often seemingly at random. But with Prestige's psychic and emotional connection to Kate and Danger's technological brilliance and Cable's acumen with time-hopping technology, Widget can be guided with much more precision back-and-forth than ever before. She is also a woman out of time and out of body, able to relate to Danger and Shard better than most.

Genesis: The Cutie. He is the superpowerful and most innocent of the group, the babe with fresh eyes who is predestined to live out his father's life by all who see him, but reaches for a brighter tomorrow. Probably has the most 'kick the puppy' moments, unfortunately.

Shard: The X-Factor. From a hard future, sister of Bishop, photonic hologram entity. She's got ancillary ties to every member and is the glue. With the aid of Prodigy and Danger, she gains form and function once more, possibly even merging with Widget to give both herself and Kate corporeal motor and fighting functionality.

So now I have a bit of computer time I can flex my ideas a bit more

My main idea I had when I was building a team was that these guys would in fact be efficient in combat and missions together as a team, but not exactly soldiers that Logan may expect. And though some of them come off as atypical there is an underlying theme of human condition and needing to be comfortable with themselves outside of combat and mission related things.

My actual comic knowledge is limited, but I feel like these characters and pairings have a lot of interesting stories to tell. And I feel like they actually have an understated ability for potential diplomacy before things go south. A lot of my roster has foreign language skills, acting ability, and other talents that lend well to playing up to non combat related outings.

Anole I find to be a very interesting character. He seems to be fairly malleable to me as far as being able to adapt to any environment and I feel like he can make a good pairing with any of the characters on the roster and serve a unique role to each. Wolverine he has an existing and serious respect for as it is. And on the other hand, I can see a comedic pairing with Deadpool where Wade simply thinks he is like spiderman for his wall crawling abilities.

The flaws of my team as people seem like a big part of what would be looked into to me. Captain UK for example seems like she would be a potential PTSD or other trauma like victim based on her story. Treading those waters and needing companionship in the likes of this team may seem rough, but Logan and Puck are guys who have just about seen everything. And getting them to talk could be a big thing.

Not going to touch on everyone right now, but did want to give a broader idea of what I was looking for in the team. Having access to both serious side of things, as well as a comedic side; gritty combat potential, diplomatic options, flexibility and creative people who can have glaring flaws that need to be addressed and make them human in the end.

Quick Pick Form (Bold your Choices):
Fight
Abstain
Eddv vs. Scare
Lopen vs. Shaduln
NBIceman vs. Snake

Pitch
Abstain

Eddv vs. Scare
There have been a ton of X forms a mutant school ideas from what ifs to actual series. They are all very good because the idea just doesnt go wrong even if Harry Potter pushed it into the ground. I dont really have any knocks here because Angels a fascinating lead here, an underused one and with high potential to be as costly to the students as valued as he is to help them.

Lopen vs. Shaduln
Not much to say here, Shads might be really good but its not enough to vote on

NBIceman vs. Snake
I'd buy Snakes book right now and I don't like horror or his lineup. Thats how good it is. Icemans pitch is solid but was a hook/twist away from being superb. It just had no shot inthis matchup

As far as Apocalypse goes in my pitch, the extent of his involvement is essentially just supposed to be that he's the impetus behind its formation and really nothing else. He reaches out to Namor and convinces him of the need for a unit of this kind, puts the wheels in motion for the recruitment of a few of its members, and then divorces himself from it entirely, retreating to his place on the Quiet Council with the understanding that it's really the Sub-Mariner's to do with as he pleases and that, should it ever become advantageous or necessary, he would disavow any knowledge of its very existence.

The idea is for this group to be very loosely affiliated and almost completely reactive in their operations. They don't actively seek out missions and, due to the nature of their purpose, it is not required or even expected that all members participate in all matters that may merit their intervention. For his part, though, Namor is charismatic and still self-interested, and I imagine that in the course of the team's life he'd arrange for a job or two that would further Atlantean goals rather than Krakoan or mutantkind in general. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been inclined to be included in the first place. For all intents and purposes, it's his team - he just needed the initial push.

If that's even too much interference by an outside character as per the rules, I'll gladly amend my pitch in the following weeks and submit my apologies for misunderstanding the extent to which an extraneous character could be employed. Truth be told, he was mostly just the most viable way I could conceive of for getting Sabretooth out of that damned whole Xavier chucked him into in HoX.

Fight
Mega Mana vs. MegamanX
Eddv vs. Scare
Lopen vs. Shaduln
NBIceman vs. Snake

Pitch
Mega Mana vs. MegamanX. ...I dislike how vague the pitch is, and the illogical part of me thinks it's partially a way to justify Cable, who I have a bit of a personal grudge against, and I stongly dislike Daken's existence. The team itself works well together, however, the roles you set for them make sense, and that... actually made me interested in the series.

Eddv vs. Scare ....Scare's team feels like it was built for it's two leads at the expense of it's supporting cast. *Like every Wolverine and Deadpool book* in the last two decades. The pitch is a disservice to the support, even though it's not intended as such.

Lopen vs. Shaduln
...I hate time travel. I very much despise time travel as a plot concept. That being said, I love the team itself. I honestly don't think Bishop needs Beast, and Hank sticks out like a big, furry blue thumb otherwise. AmazonX is a terrible name, and the concept is a bit too basic for my taste, although I genuinely like the roster a lot, and think they can do good things with the right author.

NBIceman vs. Snake This is largely because this is a book that feels like it was made with my interests in mind. I want this book to exist so I can buy it now. Even after saying that, this is rough, because I *love both teams in this match.* ...Other than the Apocalypse thing.

As for my team's fight potential

Husk: Is an all rounder - can have a pretty powerful power of her choosing once she gets a feel for how the fight is going.
Havok: Kinda a Cyclops+ style heavy hitter that is going to be very hard for Scares team to do a lot about
Leech: Can just completely shut down one mutant at a time which is good because
Hollow: Has diamond hard skin and super strong claws and such that put her in the same class as Deadpool in terms of power and once Leech has allowed her to win that vs. Deadpool clash she starts helping us win by tearing through their back lines.
Mercury: Kinda the anti-front liner her entire body is poisonous and toxic and her ability to go liquid helps her get the jump on people
Banshee: Great crowd control in the form of his big powerful sonic powers and flight to help his powerful front liners and Havok get into position.

The big thing I see here is crowd control + Leech + Havok and Hollow means that I can probably tear down Scares team

As for other match votes:

Match 1:

Pitch: I like Mega Manas team composition, but that pitch doesn't really tell me anything. I also don't really like the whole traveling through time and space to visit other worlds Exiles style pitches that both books employ. So ultimately this just boils down to which teams character composition I like more, and that goes advantage Future of X

Battle: Future of X pretty easily. There's just so much power on that side of the equation wow.

Match 2:

Is me.

Match 3:

Pitch: AmazonX is a great name but this is a weak pitch. RetroaXtive pretty much by default but this isn't the strongest pitch by lopen. He really badly needs Cyclops where he has slotted in Beast. Someone with a strong moral compass but also a propensity for being tempted. Someone to play the fulcrum in the Bishop-Magneto duality and I just simply don't think Beast plays that role well.

Fight: RetroaXtive pretty easily a lot of strong mutants here and AmazonX really lacks any defense against Magneto in what is a pretty bad mismatch of powers.

Match 4:

Pitch:X-Mortis is one of the strongest pitches in this game but I think X-trinsic can have something going for it if Iceman can work out a stronger overall story framework for the team he has. May be a team that is a prime trading candidate. Sabretooth might be compelling on Lopens or Johnbobbs teams for instance.
Fight: X-trinic lol X-Mortis' battle value is like null.

Just extraneous commentary because I really had fun in the draft:

1. The vagueness of the pitch is something I'll work on for next round. I spent quite a while trying to incorporate everything into something succinct, but it got bloated so I scrapped a whole ton of stuff to try and put forth something I'd see on one of those pages in the middle of book from the nineties with a quick blurb for why you should pick up the next issue of one of several different titles. Next time, I'm gonna take out a full-page ad instead of a blurb among eight other titles. Booyah!

2. Time travel didn't even come to mind until the fourth round of drafts! I don't really remember who was on my shortlist at the time, but families were the big thing I was thinking about, Northstar wouldn't work were my third round drafts, I think someone I was looking at hard just got grabbed up, but then I kind of paused on Widget for a bit and started thinking about it, and how she is Kate Pryde, and an Excalibur kind of book paired with the stories in Powers of X, and how all the pieces could work together... I ramble, but it was all Widget for time travel.

3. There's definitely an Exiles element that's unavoidable, but I think the core difference of that book and this one is that, for the most part, those were all "What If?" characters. What if Mimic was the best X-Man? What if Magneto was the good guy and Professor X the bad guy? What if Thunderbird was... whatever Thunderbird was? The team could be anyone and the situations they go to could be anything? There's a fun quality to the sheer creative potential of it, but there's not a starting immediacy or weight to things even with an 'anyone can die at any time and get replaced by a new toy' premise.

Future of X is using the lived-in characters of the 616 canon with their histories, biases, opinions, goals, and dynamics where what they do and where they go show the impact of choices and possibilities made in the present. They are 'What Ifs?' but seen and interacted with by the people that can still prevent it, unlike the Watchers who just narrate these altered stories or the Exiles who jump in and out completing objectives. They go in, they interact, they learn, they have to figure out what makes things go wrong and why, and grapple with predestination and butterfly effect and their own selfishness. I would hope it's not just a doom and gloom ride, but I'd say... if Team Arrow was doing the Legends of Tomorrow missions. There's a good chunk of seriousness about the mission and hard choices and making decisions along the way, but there's a great camaraderie and a level of levity that keeps it entertaining as a book without going overboard into a sitcom.

4. I am not a fan of Daken either. Was angling towards Jimmy Hudson, possibly Honey Badger, originally, but in the wait for Johnbobb... Daken just seemed to make more sense with who was already drafted. I don't think I'd want Cable being Jimmy Hudson's mentor, but someone who wouldn't put up with Daken's ****? Sure. Storm had a wild streak back in the day and can relate and temper Daken and join him in meditation and not judge him for the sins of his father or his past. Likewise, I think Prestige and Daken could have a really good friendship and don't if that's happened in the comics. Also, Shatterstar/Daken? An interesting possible ship. He also adds a good recklessness and intrigue of misdeed to the missions.

No worries! Always fun listening to the creative process behind the pitch itself! ^_^ ...And sometimes it's *really* difficult to try to get everything you need in a condensed form. Ramblin' isn't inherently a bad thing.

Fight
Mega Mana vs. MegamanX
Eddv vs. Scare
...
NBIceman vs. Snake

Pitch
Mega Mana vs. MegamanX - Both really open pitches in terms of the draw that are almost so open they don't add a lot to me. Unfortunately I think MegamanX needs the pitch more because Mana has more well known quantities, and they aren't known quantities I have anything against, particularly, so I basically have Mana winning this one by default. Probably wouldn't read either of these as they stand though.
Eddv vs. Scare - I actually like Scare's teamcomp but the pitch sounds like a less funny version of Deadpool 2's X-Force with too much competence on it to work as well. Eddv's team is very X-Men though it's the type of X-Men I'm not as interested in, but if the new stars are written well it could be something great (though my irrational dislike of Leech gives it a bit of a ceiling)-- that being said regardless I'll give it fairly good props just for very solid execution of the idea, and the idea being well defined and clear in what it's doing.
...
NBIceman vs. Snake - This would be closer without 11th man Apocalypse touching things in the pitch a bit more than I'd like, and being too necessary to keep Sabretooth in line in particular. Snake really needs some name value to ground things a bit though-- I get the idea, I like the idea, but I probably wouldn't read it without some inherent drawing power backbone to ground my interest.

Pitch
MegamanX
Mega Mana is just redoing Exiles and how I feel about that completely depends on the creative team, not who is actually on the roster... MMX's story seems much more interesting. The actual rosters have similar levels of appeal, so without drafted creators, imma go with the newer and fresher concept.

Eddv
Eddv wins because young X-Men stories are the best X-Men stories. GG no re. Scare's pitch is also just... kinda way too awkward, and I think it would have worked so much better if this was all just Deadpool's idea and Wolverine was nowhere near the concept.

Lopen
Competitive future fuckery is a very strong pitch, esp when they are nominally working together for the same end goals, but not really. I don't really see what Shad's actual story would be about...

Snake
Iceman's roster is v strong for the pitch. But... Snake's pitch is the best I've seen out of everyone in the draft. Also it has fucking Devil fucking Dinosaur.

Fight
MegamanX
Cable is p strong, but Prodigy is dead weight. There's also just no good Magik solution here, and she's gonna fuck shit up.

Eddv
This was easily the toughest fight in this division. I think Leech can be clutch and swing the fight in Eddv's favor often enough to give his team the win more often than not tho.

Lopen
Magneto can solo gg no re.

Iceman
Yeah this team is clearly much stronger also
