I woke up 4-6 hours after my shift and thought I was supposed to come in during the evening. Turns out I was wrong. My alarm didnt go off because my phone was off even though I thought that it was on.

Anyone got any no call no show stories that anyone wants to share? I once did it at my previous job for the same reason above, but they werent really mad at me due to the job being prone to having tons of no shows.

never had that happen, very much doubt it will happen, unless I die or something lol. I get up like 5 hours before I'm supposed to be at my job.

I will say once when I was 16 i got my days mixed up at a summer job, and came in an hour after my shift (i thought I was supposed t show up at 12, but actually had to be there at 11).No one really talked to me about it ( It was at a theme park)

When I was in college I legit got stuck at a light for about a half hour (I was only like 5 minutes away from work, too). I called though, and they didn't really have an issue with it.

Lmao! Reminds me of the time I had a dream I was in front of the toilet.

Luckily I caught myself but it was a VERY close call.

I've been (very) late once or twice that way, but never a complete absence

(I did outright miss a whole exam once though. Thought it was the next week. Prof helped me out by changing the weighting.)

That happened once or twice when I was younger working at a grocery store. I was well-liked enough that it didn't matter. I remember crying when I was apologizing to my manager because I felt bad for letting him down. My nose started bleeding. He was a nice guy.

No matter what happened the night before, I've always made it to work on time.

Although, one particular morning, after I swung my car door open, it swung back and cut my eyebrow. Since I worked in a cleanroom at the time, policy dictated that I call out.

In almost 40 years of working I was never late, never didn't show up, and never called in sick (although I did call in sick once when doing student teaching...but that wasn't a paid job). I didn't want to get the kids/teacher sick by going in.

I was once woken up by a call from my boss, about 45 minutes after I was supposed to be at work. That's about the worst I've done.

Only times I have done anything remotely like that was not coming in for five incidental covers earlier this year; they were on weekdays and I had my kids, and I wasn't about to try to get my babysitter to either come over at 2:30AM or stay until 7PM. Luckily, we have a point system, you only get dinged if they actually report your lack of cover (which they often won't do if they like you) and I am generally well liked.

I set four alarms personally, first one, 45 minutes before I need to get up, than 30 minutes, than 15 minutes, then when I need to get up.

I don't think so. But I had some pretty close calls.

When I worked at Pac-Sun, I forgot I had to work one day. But I got a call from this guy asking if I could cover the rest of his shift (I assume because my shift was next). I said luckily said yes, and went to work. When checking his schedule to see what it was, I saw I was on the schedule. So, that was lucky. I also ended up covering the shift after mine as the girl that came in to close broke her leg. So, two and a half shifts for me, that day. I was in high school and it was my first job, so I was actually pretty happy. About the money. Not the girl breaking her leg...

At Target, I had some weird scheduling issues. Where I would ask for the day off. It would get approved by one person, and declined by another. Or one manager would say I could leave, and another would say not to. Or it would get approved, and then denied after. It was pretty bad.

And once in the Air Force, I just woke up super late. I did call one person, but I don't even know if he told anyone. I said I was running late, but when I got there, no one knew. When I asked one guy if they had taken roll call, he said no. It was because of the exercise. People were all coming in at different times. Like no one except the guy I called and the guy I asked knew I was late...

Wait! I don't have a couple. I worked at UPS. And once, I got there super early for some reason. And I could go in yet. And I fell asleep in my car. I didn't wake up until after work. They just called and it was no big deal. They just said to call next time...

Before that, I worked at Subway. My last day, I was probably on the schedule. But I got a new phone number. My boss didn't have it, so he couldn't call me to give me my schedule. Which would have just been Saturday. He was cutting my hours. I just didn't go back. So, my last day was a no call, no show...

I have like 20. Haha. I try to wake up 2 hours before work. And have way too many alarms. I have like 126 on my phone. But never all set. I set them for all kinds of stuff. I can usually pick a random time and have an alarm for it, or very close. Normally, if the time ends in 5 or 0. But I do have a few exact ones...

even better is the fact that THEY asked ME to switch, and then they didn't show up after i'd shown up for their shift already. i definitely did not switch with anyone again after that. it was a small store with only about 12 employees so everything was super informal, but when i worked at walmart we had to have managers sign off on shift changes

When I was an hourly employee I used to no-call, no-show on Fridays all the time because the punishment for an unscheduled absence was a 1 day suspension. Pretty easy way to get a 4 day weekend.
