1. Shikamaru vs Kin
2. Rock Lee vs Gaara
3. Zaku Abumi vs. Shino Aburame

Ten-Ten vs Temari looked like an interesting match, but iirc we don't really see much of it.

Round 2:
Shikamaru vs Temari, which is my favorite fight in the exams. In terms of the overall arc, my second-favorite fight would be Shino vs Kankuro, which still winds up happening when the two confront each other, although that was a fight rather than a match.

In general, every single fight that Shikamaru is involved in turns out pretty fucking awesome. And, in Boruto, the same is true of his son

Seeing Lee after he takes the weights off just makes me really... REALLY disappointed that they basically wrote out every character that wasn't naruto, sasuke, or any other uchiha bullshit for shippuden

Lee and Might Guy have a lot of stuff in Shippuden, though. In fact, one of my favorite fights in the show is the third battle between Might Guy and Kisame. And, while Lee's speed and strength are neat, his fights are rarely as interesting as Shikamaru's and he lacks the ability of Might Guy. Honestly, one of the bigger disappointments was not getting to see Guy actually take on Itachi with that trick of his

And, in general, how many major fights has Lee actually won? He lost vs Gaara, he needed to bailed out during the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, etc. Usually he just overpowers jobbers. By contrast, Neji doesn't have *that* many losses.

I voted for Kankuro vs Misumi. It was way short but i did not see the ending coming at all. I thought he had broken his neck.

2nd is Neji. It took 5 Jonin to stop him from killing Hinata. Badass

No, he can't see "anything", he can see chakra. It makes sense someone that can see chakra can see it when people can't even sense the chakra because it's sealed. I mean, your vote for Kankuro's match even proves that someone can get tricked by something they just don't know is there.

Ah, yes. A bunch of wrong opinons about Naruto. Allow me to enlighten you:

Neji barely won his fight against jobber Spider-Man during that arc. Lee was fighting a guy who is as strong as a jonin.

The simple fact is that Lee always fought neji with weights on, Lee being the kinda guy he is, would always naturally assume neji was better.

Look at the facts, after Lee removed his weights the other rookies couldn't see his movements well. Neji is shocked because he's never seen Lee at his best.

If Lee biltzed neji with the gates open what could he do? Rotation? He wouldn't be able to react in time even of he could see him, like sasuke when he got blitzed with his sharingan on. Lee was so fast he got through gaara's automatic, instant barrier.

Lastly, if anyone else other than Naruto and sasuke fights gaara at that point, they lose. I don't understand how people think losing to OP sand is anything other than expected.

Uh, lolwut? You talk about wrong opinions then list some real doozies.

Sure, Lee wound up matched against the strongest of the Sound Five -- albeit a *heavily* diseased ninja who only lost because he succumbed to his own sickness -- so it's not a 1-to-1 comparison. However, that doesn't downplay the abilities of his peers. Kidomaru was a top-tier opponent with abilities that could easily dispatch ninja *without* Neji's ability. And Kidomaru himself acknowledged that the last time he fought somebody as strong as Neji it was Kimimaro, the very Sound Five ninja that Lee couldn't handle. Graned, when Kidomaru lost to Kimimaro, it was because they were in an enclosed space -- in a forest, things *might* have been different (overlooking Kimimaro's absurd defensive ability). More importantly, when Kimimaro beat the Sound Four, he was a metric fuckload stronger because the disease hadn't ravaged his body nearly as much. (And also he had used his curse seal to win, whereas he outmatched Lee without using his curse seal.)

*Some* of the genin couldn't see Lee's movements, but it was mostly the weaker ones. Neji could track arrows, he'd be fine against Lee's speed.

And, more importantly, Lee knows how quickly he can move without his weights... yet he still considers himself weaker than Neji. Likewise, Might Guy knows Lee's true abilities yet considered him outmatched by Neji. The only person who doesn't seem to understand that Lee is outmatched by Neji is you.

Finally, comparing Sasuke to Neji is hilariously stupid. Sasuke was nowhere near as strong as Neji at that point, which is why he lost to weighted Lee when Neji routinely beat weighted Lee with virtually no effort. Neji was older and more experienced than Sasuke, with a greater mastery of his kekkei-genkai whereas Sasuke's was still in the relatively early stages

Lee also fought him drunk and injured from the gaara fight and was wrecking him with ease. Someone who is stronger in offense and defense than neji.

Finally, Guy considered Lee to be weaker than Neji because he never gave him factored opening gates because he never let anyone know his trump card . Gates Lee > neji > normal Lee.

The gates being opened gives people huge combat boosts. Hell, Guy is around Kisame's level during the ninja war but opening the gates made him stronger than Madara for a brief time.

While this is true, it's a bit less true when they were still genin. But as they progress it's more and more the case. Well, except Shikamaru, cause he's actually smart and uses things other than only his powers.

How is that even supposed to make sense? Naruto lost to a curse-seal Sasuke. Sasuke didn't have his curse seal when he fought Lee. Hell, Lee probably couldn't even beat Sasuke after he underwent training for his main round match. Curse-seal Sasuke would have outright killed Lee, no question.

And Kyuubi-Naruto would vastly outmatch Lee.

Otherwise, if we were playing that game, Lee lost to base-form Gaara. Sasuke -- after training -- was enough to overcome base-form Gaara, but lost to a powered-up Gaara. Naruto beat a fully-powered Gaara. Therefore Lee is kinda on the bottom of that totem pole because trained Sasuke got further than he did and the only person Neji lost to was Naruto, who was strong enough to beat a fully-powered Gaara.

The math doesn't lie and it spells disaster for Lee!

You understand how diseases work, right? A disease's effect on the body isn't the same across the whole time, it progresses with time. Kimimaro was literally on his last legs when he fought Lee, he was expected to die in a matter of days if not weeks. He was in a LOT better shape when he fought the Sound Four, which the Sound Four acknowledges as well. And, more importantly, when Kidomaru and Kimi fought, it was in an arena that played solely to Kimi's strengths. Kimi is a close-range fighter (ie, Lee's specialty), Kidomaru is deadliest at a distance.

Lee is stronger when drunk. This is literally established repeatedly throughout the show. That's not a handicap, that's a buff. And part of the advantage comes from his less predictable movements, which would trouble a fighter like Kimi more than Neji.

Which might be a good point if Lee actually knew those techniques... Lee had only been taught the early forms and he knew even fewer when he fought Gaara. What the super Jonin Might Guy knows doesn't mean that rookie Genin Rock Lee knows the same. And the early techniques are clearly demonstrated to be nowhere near as strong as the later forms.

Yes, because Lee has many ways he could lose to Neji, including by simple Genjutsu because Lee is terrible at everything except Taijutsu.
