When I was like 5 I refused to eat pizza because I hated vegetables and the idea of "tomato sauce" threw me off, but that's definitely the answer. I've never had a pizza I didn't at least think was okay (as long as it has had toppings I don't dislike).

Of that list, Watermelon is the one I find the most mediocre. I don't dislike it, but it's pretty close to the bottom of my fruit rankings and I'd never actually go buy one just for me to eat.

when i was a kid, i absolutely couldn't stand lasagna. now it's one of my favorite foods.

similarly, when i was a kid, i loved warm milk. now the smell of it makes me vomit.

funny how that works.

Yeah, but the thing about pizza is that it's versatile enough that you SHOULD find a combo for almost everyone... I prefer pizza that's lighter on cheese myself; I'd rather taste the tomato sauce. I wouldn't look twice at people who ordered their pizza without cheese because the dough is supposed to be the main attraction anyway.

Can you get it without sauce? The tomato sauce is the part that I dislike really

Watermelon and cheesecake aren't great. I can totally understand someone not really liking eggs or coca-cola. I think normal salty Doritos can easily be too bland for some people, while flavoured Doritos might exactly be too "strong".

I can understand someone not liking chocolate, because I feel its's a food/candy/snack that you very quickly feel stuffed by. However, on a pure taste level, you have very sweet chocolate, you have bitter chocolate, and then there's milk and nuts chocolate and there's too many kinds of chocolate to actively dislike it, unless you have bad reactions to it. Then again I know someone who's lactose intolerant who loves cheese, so, y'know.

But pizza? That's ridiculous. Neither my dad, sister, or mother like pizza and I think they're insane for it. There's so many different things you can have on a pizza, and it's generally just a balanced meal in itself, offering everything you need in a meal. I totally feel the same way about spaghetti (but dislike paella, so maybe I'm weird in that).

Yeah, though it's not as common. A local pizza place makes pizza with alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce and it's pretty good.

Yeah, a lot of pizza places now will do it without sauce, or have different kinds of sauce.

Hell, CiCi's, a pizza buffet that just churns out cheap, easy to make pizzas, typically has atleast one sauceless one out on the bar at all times, so you're not alone.

In the US it's common, like someone else said for there to be some kind of white sauce pizza. But 'no tomato sauce pizza' is definitely a thing too. Basically everywhere the style of pizza is different. Hell, regionally the US even does it different. In South Korea for example, most pizza doesn't have tomato sauce under the cheese, and often puts sweet sauces on the top as well as using toppings like corn that you don't see very often in the US. But I've also had stuff similar to American pizza there. Pizza is very versatile!

Freaking Dominos offers two different white sauces and BBQ sauce as alternatives to tomato sauce. My wife gets heartburn when she eats pizza with tomato sauce so we always get something else.

Pizza. There is so much you can have on pizza. It's not limited by crust types, cheese, sauce, toppings. Too many combinations. There is something out there you'd like. Otherwise you are lying.

I hate pizza and it's because of the smell. I have an ultra sensitive sense of smell, so I can smell pizza from far away (anywhere inside of a house that has a pizza). It's most likely the cheese (or maybe the sauce) that produces the smell that I don't like.

Obviously pizza can be customized to a very huge extent, but getting pizza without cheese and sauce would be difficult as it's pretty much found on every mass produced store-bought pizzas. Getting a pizza without cheese and sauce would require going to a pizza shop and custom ordering one without those things, something that I wouldn't bother doing just to get a pizza that I could actually eat.

When you cant even taste the actual burger that's a problem. Like when you cant actually taste the initial ingredients of the fucking pizza when you just drown it in a million other things. The thing is that unless you have the worlds fucking thinnest burger this is likely not going to happen, which is really the key. Most pizza is fairly thin and it's a lot easier for the core of the pizza to be masked or hidden by toppings if you put enough on. This is not saying the person does not like pizza, but maybe they would elect not to eat pizza if they could not put said toppings on it to a point where they actually tasted the pizza. It's like someone saying they like coffee... but only if they put 20 teaspoons of sugar in it. Or if you are still insistent on saying the belief that it doesn't matter what's actually on the pizza... it's still pizza. Then you have to concede that there are just too many feasible combinations to make it fair to just lump them into one dish. What if someone only liked green tea and disliked every other type of tea? Does this person like tea?

Also, the actual preparation of a burger and the toppings are done differently from pizza. Pizza toppings are cooked with the pizza so you actually have to take into account the overall integrity of the Pizza there. With burgers, almost all additional things minus the cheese is added post-cooking so you have an easier time of maintaining the core of the dish.

Honestly I really don't understand why people like watermelon at all. It's borderline flavorless to me, there's a million other fruits I'd rather eat.

This is why I made the topic and put watermelon first. The rest have a pretty strong taste and texture so I can understand disliking them, but watermelons is so light and clean, the only way you would dislike it is because it's crunchy. The crunch is the best though.

But now I'm totally weirded out by the people who think Doritos are too flavorful... Never heard that complaint before lol. I've grown up with a ton of white people too.

Also I do sorta have an issue with watermelon. The taste is fine but I get severely nauseous after eating it because of the texture and light flavor combination. It's bizarre.

I get the same reaction to cantaloupe, honeydew and cucumber but to lesser degrees.

Let's say you put a cherry pie on pizza dough and serve it like that. Can you unequivocally call it a pizza?

What if someone doesn't like this "cherry pie pizza" but does like "apple pie pizza". Do they like pizza or apples?

Anything is an all or nothing so I could literally put any food on top of a pizza styled dough and serve it and call it a pizza. Oh but you could say but pie is not a topping. How is that any different than me saying that you can't simply call pizza dough with anything on it a pizza?

IIRC European Doritos are basically tortilla chips unless you opt for the "flavored" options. Maybe I'm making that up but I think that's true.
