2-5 is still my favorite, but I can see why some people might prefer 3-1

V3 may have my favorite cast really. So many great characters, like Gonta, Ryoma, Kiyo, Maki, Tenko, Shuichi, Kaito, and Himiko.

Alright, I need to stop for the night since I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow but I honestly do not want to. I may set my alarm to around 6 am so I can get another hour or two in before my day starts. Last video game I woke up early to play more was probably either Nier Automata or Breath of the Wild back in 2017. Anyways, here are my initial impressions.

I like the presentation of the game and the U.I. It's nice to look at. I also like how objects are highlighted in this game. I'm getting more futuristic vibes off of everything here more so than the last games so that's pretty neat. Very cool that the protag is very different this time around but I'll get to that when I speak about the cast. Music is good so far. I like the Monokubs but I'm hoping Monokuma comes in again and steals the spotlight. I just don't know how the game would balance the Monokubs in addition to Monokuma himself. We'll just have to see. It's also great that the setting is back at a school. I missed the school setting from the DR1 even though I didn't mind the islands from DR2. I like what the devs have done with this school to make it different. All the plants growing everywhere and the general more abandoned vibe. It's cool.

Lastly, the characters. I'm going to start with the protag. Kaede Akamatsu who is the Ultimate Pianist. I like her and I like pianos. It's a win/win. I'm looking forward to seeing how she handles the events of the game especially compared to the other protags from the previous games. Then, the the Ultimate Detective, Shuichi Saihara. I'm sure he'll be the Kyoko/Chiaki of this game. He seems nice. There's Rantaro Amami, the Ultimate ???. He comes off as knowing more than he lets on. He definitely knew about the killing game in the very beginning of the game. I think he'll be important as the game progresses.

We have Miu Iruma, the Ultimate Inventor. A very useful Ultimate ability. I tend to like vulgar characters since I rarely curse in real life myself. I'll have to see more of her. I may end up liking her or hating her depending on how her character develops. The Ultimate Supreme Leader, Kokichi Oma, looks downright evil in his report card. I feel like he's bullshitting even about his Ultimate ability. I expect him to be murdered. K1-BO, the Ultimate Robot, is among the weirdest of the Ulitmates in this series. I'll have to see a lot more of him. Gonta Gokuhara, the Ultimate Entomologist, is awesome. I expected someone very different from what I saw so I'm pleasantly surprised. I like that he speaks in third person, too,

Tsumugi Shirogane, the Ultimate Cosplayer, doesn't stand out to me as much as some of the others. She seems kind of just there for now at least but it's nice having a more normalish student compared to some of these guys. Korekiyo Shinguji, the Ultimate Anthropologist... I think this guy is going to be awesome. I like his design. I like how he talks. I like him. Tenko Chabashira, the Ultimate Aikido Master, has some spunk to her. Not sure where the devs are going to go with her "I hate men" attitude but we'll see. Kirumi Tojo, the Ultimate Maid, is great. I like her design a lot and an Ultimate Maid seems fitting. She'll probably end up killing someone sadly. Maki Harukawa, the Ultimate Child Caregiver, seems pretty creepy. I wouldn't let her around any children personally. I like her, though.

Ryoma Hoshi, the Ultimate Tennis Pro, is weird. This guy is definitely not high school age. I don't trust him. Kaito Momota, the Ultimate Astronaut, is going to be a favorite of mine probably. I love astronomy and was going to major in it before switching to pre-med. For that alone, I like him. Himiko Yumeno, the Ultimate Magician, reminds me of an old friend. Regardless of what she says, she can't do actual magic. I'll be shocked if she could. Lastly, there's the Ultimate Artist, Angue Yonaga. I was wonder when the artist skill will pop up. Meh on her. I'll have to see more as the game goes on.

There's not a single girl I despise this time. All of them range from okay to good as of right now. Lastly, I think Kaede, Shuichi, Rantaro, Maki, Kaito, and Tenko will survive this killing game.

Each game had a song or two that would really get my attention, and Beautiful Lie was one of the songs from V3 (the other is a song you havent gotten to yet - it plays during the trials). For a while, Id play it for bit during my commutes to work.

It is, but dont go for it. Its insanely hard. You really arent meant to be able to do it, so there is a bit of an Easter egg that involves Monokuma basically in shock that you did it. Then the game just brings you back to the beginning of the road.

Seriously, after you beat the game, just watch a YouTube video to see what happens. Otherwise, youll spend hours trying to learn the patterns and trying to get some luck for very little payoff (so glad this wasnt a gold trophy in the game...).

Not yet but I think I can eliminate Kaito, Tenko, Himiko, Angie, Maki, Korekiyo, Miu, and Kirumi as suspects. Kaito and Tenko were together near the time Rantaro died. Himiko, Angie, and Maki were in the game room as well. Korekiyo, Kirumi, and Miu were in the dining hall together. This just leaves Gonta, Ryoma, K1-B0, Kokichi, Tsumugi, and Shuichi. According to Gonta, he was getting pumped up in the A/V room watching an insect movie. There were only two ways out of the room. Through the game room or the sliding door and we know the sliding door remained unopened due to the accumulation of dust. Therefore, I think Gonta is clear.

Both Ryoma and K1-B0 do not have solid alibis. They were alone in their room. I won't rule them out. However, unless Ryoma used some to hit the shot put with, it's unlikely he killed Rantaro since he's so small. K1-B0 said it himself that he has the strength of an average senior citizen. I think he'll need to be a little stronger to one shot a grown male with a shot put. Kokichi has no alibi and I will have to wait until he says his piece during the traiiak. Tsumugi went to the bathroom alone. Plus, I suspect the killer would have gotten a little blood on them so it make sense for her to wash it off in the restroom.

Shuichi was with Kaede almost the entire time except for when he went to the basement floor for a brief moment. This was the only time he could have pulled something off. He definitely knew about the shot puts beforehand when he investigated the warehouse and found the cameras. He knew where the cameras were to avoid being caught in a picture. It's also worth noting that his picture was taken by the camera when he removed them though it really could have been his mistake. Shuichi also had the receiver on him so he could control whether or not it would go off. I do not think it's Shuichi but since the game decided to kill off Rantaro, anything could be possible. Don't think Rantari killed himself, either

In short, I have no idea and that's awesome.
