Matt Murdock would've been a HUGE help in this movie...but noooo, Netflix had to cancel him.

I didn't like it. Not because "urr it's a rip odf of the quiet place" but because it felt like it was less than the sum of its parts and the parts they used were kinda shitty anyway. It's your basic Hollywood horror flick.

No hate if folks liked it, though. I just don't give a shit about these ensemble survivor movies where the threat is all unseen at the start and the movie goes "ooh, what could it be? what's so awful about it? isn't the unknown scary?"

Maybe Annihilation ruined me, because that movie had a payoff that I loved. Fuck, it had a payoff that I cared about - something I can't say for Bird Box. Again, no hate, I just didn't like it personally.

And I always liked that about me, that I know what I'm fighting for - and for this, I'd go to war

I liked it but Im admittedly a sucker for post-apocalyptic movies, especially when they show what happens. It definitely felt like The Happening and A Quiet Place though the book did come out before the latter so I suppose thats a little unfair, depending on how accurate the movie is.

The crazies reminded me of the villagers on Bloodbourne. I will say that the ending threw me off a bit as it just kind of wrapped up in a corny way. Oh, and the way they werent piling canned goods and all sorts of shit in their carts at the supermarket was ridiculous.

Hey man, they got booze and a Hello Kitty toy. What more do you want?

I'm sick of horror movies doing the unseen killer/cause of the deaths. It's such bs. I did like the bit about crazy people not being affected the same way. That was cool. The ending was meh. Overall I liked it, but I won't watch it again.

Kinda reminded me of Bloodborne where those lovecraftian alien things would max out your insanity meter if your character got too close. If they maxed it, youd die

It's not a ripoff of 'A Quiet Place'. Bird Box was a book written in 2014.

it was pretty bad, nothing really made sense. Specifically the monsters. It's ok to make your movie a metaphor for whatever in the world this movie is suppose to be a metaphor for, but not at the expense of the literal things happening in the movie. I couldn't understand what the monsters' purposes were as nothing about them makes any sense. They actively want people to look at them so they'll be driven to commit suicide. Why? I don't know. Yet all the monsters seem to do their best to hide so no one can see them then i guess they pop out of the bushes the second someone opens their eyes. They can make you hear familiar voices to try and convince you to look at them without you ever looking at them? How? They can brainwash people to go and trick people to go look at the monsters, and those brainwashed people can hold you down and force your eyes open and make you look at the monsters... but the monsters can't just break through a glass window and force your eyes open themselves? They can jump all over a car and rock it but won't dare touch you if you're a 5 year old girl alone in the woods wearing a blindfold? Nothing about these monsters made any kind of sense
