Ive only had a few MREs but they were all pretty tasty, probably because theyre usually calorie dense foods

I think the problem is, when you're eating them in the military it's the only option, so get can become bitter towards them, and sure it's not restaurant quality food, but it's better tasting than say a Hot Pocket ... Yeah, people think they make you clogged up, but they do have a good amount of fiber in them. The myth comes from the fact that when the military has to eat them, they're in the field, and honestly most people I the field don't hydrate nearly as much as they should. That's what clogs up all the soldiers/marines/etc... not the MRE. The only thing that will clog you up is that weird plastic looking cheese spread, and that's only if you eat a shitload of them. --- There are more than two genders, try to change my mind ...
