You can think it's crazy to believe in magic but a lot of people believe in smaller forms of magic such are curses/blessings or karma for example

Even if you think it isn't real now do you think it could have before? Maybe we ran out of it like a natural resource or lost the connection to it because it was tied to a specific language/chant/spell that was lost to time

It just seems weird that all cultures believe in some form of magic (even as simple as superstition) and get to that point independently

This.

Also, "magic is just science we don't yet understand."

If you would take an automobile or a smartphone back to the year 1000 AD, they would think it is magic because they wouldn't be able to understand it.

Magic doesn't exist period. What ancient people called magic was just simply a lack of understanding of the science around them.

That does work sometimes, but there's a difference between a shaman/witch doctor type things and something you would see out of of a fantasy book, there's no amount of technology that would be able to replace real magic (real magic being what you would see in LotR or traditional mythologies)

You have played too many RPGs and can no longer tell the difference between reality and fantasy. Ancient civilizations were not chanting for Fireballs and Magic Missiles and drinking mana potions when they ran out of MP.

You do know that orcs, goblins, trolls, and dragons are not real too, right? They never existed.

Idk, really. Anything is possible. Haitians have those voodoo folks that can turn people into a zombie state just using chemicals from plants. I highly doubt that's the only case of something like that.
Especially considering all the stuff that's extinct that we'll likely never know of.

I do believe most cases of 'magic' do probably have some sort of real explanation.

Shamans, witch doctors, and the like never used "real magic." The so-called "magical" chemicals they use would just make a person high and experience hallucinations and stuff. It was just a drug, no different than modern drugs like crack and marijuana and stuff like that. Any so-called healing they could produce was just the placebo effect.

Magic is real; elves, dwarves, trolls, dragons and many other mythical creatures used to exist on this very planet. But every single one of those creatures became proud, and began to kill and destroy. It was then that humans, the most powerful of earthly beings, had to put a stop to the bloodshed. And so under the eye and protection of God, they brought all these ancient races and beings to utter extinction. They did not disappear completely though. All earthly souls are ancient, they are caught in endless reincarnation cycles until all are saved. The BC era was full of warfare and many people went to hell. In the CE era no one goes to actual hell; they go to a place that looks like hell until they repent. Once they do, they are reincarnated again.

There's a documentary and some interviews on a guy whose family thought he was dead but he was kept as a slave by someone who kept him in a trance for years. It's not magic, no, but to say there isn't anything to it is denying some truth. Even in things that sound overblown and ridiculous there is often a kernel of truth somewhere.

I can, I don't personally believe in magic, but i've been reading LotR and the way magic fades after the war of the ring and the fact Tolkien said it took place 6000 years before his time makes it sound like it takes place in early history

And many mythologies that use magic also imply that idea, obviously it's all fiction, but it's just something to think about and dismiss as fiction

Source for those interviews and documentary? There are plenty of drugs that can induce a trance-like state, and drugs can even put you in a coma. That doesn't mean there is anything magical about it. Using drugs to keep someone in a trance-like state for years is completely believable. Using magic and spells to do that same thing is 100% nonsense.

Okay, yeah, shamans and witch doctors were basically just using drugs before the effects of the drugs were commonly known by the average person.

Native Americans smoked a "peace pipe" which was basically just marijuana. Is it therefore really any wonder that they hallucinated "spirit animals" and stuff when they were high on the wacky weed?

Why are aliens visiting Earth far fetched? Maybe they were just exploring and decided not to make their presence known to us. Especially if they were that much more advanced than us, it makes sense why they wouldn't want to make their presence known.

Heck, in the Star Trek lore, the Vulcans knew about human life on Earth, but they purposefully avoided contact with Earth until humans achieved space traveling capabilities. Also, Kirk inadvertently broke the Federation's directive of avoiding contact with primitive cultures in Star Trek: Into Darkness.

It makes sense that a very advanced and more peaceful alien civilization would want to avoid contact with a very primitive and very warlike Earth culture. I don't see that as far fetched at all.

Israel is the human race. The following races were obliterated in the book of Ezekiel:

Ammon - for being grateful when Israel nearly perished. These were the dwarves.
Moab - for claiming Israel is just like every other nation. These were the orcs.
Edom - for seeking revenge against Israel when it nearly perished. These were the halflings.
Phillista - for acting in vengeance against Israel when it nearly perished. These were the trolls.
Tyre - for taking pride in their beauty and claiming to be better than Israel. These were the elves.
Sidon - for failing to protect Israel in its time of need. These were the dragons.

Once they do, they are reincarnated again.

came here to say this.

Also, Harry Potter (although you may know him as the actor "Daniel Radcliffe") is real. Hollywood decided to use these REAL wizards but give them "actor aliases" to make sure people wouldn't suspect they are from the wizarding world.

real magic was/is just the same sleight of hand stuff that still exists today, except now most people understand that it's phony and admire it for the skill required, whereas back then pretty much everyone believed it.

Read the Bible.

You clearly have not.

Yes and it isnt full of references to fucking goblins and elves
