I remember when Bryan was just starting in WWE and the thing that was going to hold him back was promo work, since he had no charisma and couldnt talk.

Kind of on related, when he got fired for the necktie incident, did anybody else buy the shirts he was selling right after? I got the VIOLENT and Team Bryan ones. Unless my wife tossed it I should still have the envelope with a handwritten address too!

Basler, Duke, and the other chick come out and swarm Becky and Charlotte, and maybe Asuka

Ronda looks on with a smirk, Asuka gets up, cleans house of everyone but Ronda. Ronda looks to Asuka, Asuka looks at her, Ronda gives nod of approval and gets her girls and walks off.

Was the match any good?

Solidly the third best of the night. It was a technical delight but it had a bit of a plodding pace to it and just sort of... ended.

Wasn't a patch on either womens title match, though.

(gun to my head 4th best was either smackdown tag or Lashley/Elias but it was comfortably much better than either).

3 good main event level matches 2 good undercard matches, one decent main event level angle and a solid comedy match. Sure there were three matches that were just DEATH but it's the best they've done in a while.

2018 was the year the womens division legitimately eclipsed the men

Shes a good worker but I don't see Asuka/any of the other 3 as being on the same level as any of the other combos.

Shes a nice complementary piece to that dynamic in the same way Nia Jax is imo.

I might agree the women have been the draw in 2018

But uhh... that's not entirely a flattering thing all things considered with what a down year it was. Like in a year where the men are actually on point, or in a actual good women's fed, this women's division doesn't rate.

It's quite good by 2018 WWE standards though.

Well the women went from "diversity initiative" to "legitimately the best thing going" which is largely due to how big of a star and how quick of a study Ronda has been and Becky and Charlotte both REALLY elevating their games.

I mean Romans sudden retirement killed the mens divisions momentum dead but thats exposed what were already deadly fissures baked into how they have operated since transitioning away from Cena. They have absolutely no star power on the mens side and their best shot at having a star on Raw went out and shit the bed last night.

If theyre smart they'll let Ronda Main Event, move Bryan to Raw and try to rebuild around him. And thats ME saying that.

This isnt a sleight by the way. I think Nia has a certain star quality. She's just extremely limited in ring.

I mean in Attitude Era terms I see Becky as Austin, Ronda as Rock, Charlotte as HHH, Asuka as Foley and Nia as Big Show.
