Yeah. She did an interview a month or two ago where someone asked her about a rumor that she was medically cleared to wrestle again, and she said that was false since one wrong bump and she could be paralyzed.

Never know what kind of new treatments they could come up with, but it's really not promising :(

So a result occured in the taping tonight for next week's (Christmas Day) Smackdown which has led to speculation on a certain superstar's future status. Do not click on the spoilers below if you don't wish to find out.

Rusev won the United States championship from Shinsuke Nakamura. Given how the latter was signed by WWE the exact same time as AJ/Anderson/Gallows, he's probably in contract renegoiations much like the others. I've noticed people online discussing the possibilities of him going back to New Japan, with the arguments against being that he's too beat up for that schedule anymore and that it would cost a lot of money for him to move back.

I think Mustafa Ali is just to show everyone that these guys won't be boring and shit when they bring them all up. You know, like Drake Maverick was brought up to show everyone that these 205 Live guys have a ton of personality and can provide hilarious segments.

it's not really that easy to just end it. there's not a lack of talent on the main roster. unless they fire a whole bunch of dead weight they're not really in a position to just drop shows outright.

Here's an interesting thought exercise - if they're trimming dead weight who are more likely to go - Kurt Hawkins Zach Ryder and Tyler Breeze or Buddy Murphy, Cedric Alexander and TJ Perkins.

It's close enough in my mind that Steiners point is well taken.

I more or less agree, but it's better than the show getting less and less viewership to the point that they're actively wasting money producing it. I just feel like they'll cut their losses and move some to Raw or Smackdown and some to NXT and maybe release others.

I would say Hawkins, Ryder and Breeze, because I feel like the other three have proven they can do some exceptional stuff on 205 Live at least. Whereas Hawkins, Ryder, and Breeze (less so with Breeze) have never proven as much, regardless of if they've ever had a serious chance to prove it. Plus, I think Triple H would go to bat for the 205 guys.

What were talking about here is basically "who here is earning the right to lose to Heath Slater" even still.

I don't think they'll job out Cedric or Murphy actually. I think that those two will just bulk up again and break the 205 stigma.

But yes, I think they have more potential for the company than Hawkins and Ryder do at this point.

Well this is sort of getting to my point - I cant think of a single mid carder they are pushing that those lads would displace aside from maybe Jinder Mahal or if Rey or Hardy or someone just left.

If theyre gonna be jobbers anyway what need have you to upgrade on guys like Ryder and Hawkins?

I think you'll see like 3 or 4 205 guys cross over longer term to recieve pushes, Ali and Ceddy for sure, and the rest get cut loose

I am trying to be totally unbiased when listening to this because I actually wanted to believe that they needed this many writers.

But Jimmy Jacobs is answering these questions and justifying it so poorly. Like he says they absolutely need 25 writers right now, and the reason is because there's a ton of moving parts and that they need one person to write one segment each and hash it out for a week straight even though sometimes Vince changes it completely at the 11th hour.

I am having such a hard time trying to follow what the whole process is and I feel like I need to listen to this a second time to understand it. Like apparently they have two teams of writers where one team stays in Stanford and writes scripts while the others travel and come up with ideas and collaborate, but somehow it takes these other writers more than 40 hours a week trying to get a script to Vince on Sunday nights?

Bryan and Mike and just trying to understand it to as respectfully as they can, but you can tell with the questions they're asking they don't seem to get what he's saying either. I just cannot wrap my mind around this process.

Jakyl I am so glad you listened to this too to confirm I am not a crazy bitter person for not understanding any of this.

Was the process as ridiculously convoluted to you as it was to me? Like I still don't get why there's these teams of writers at home and on the road. Do you understand how they fill more than 40 hours a week doing this job?

Like I think Jimmy Jacobs appearing on this to try and explain it just justifies everything people say about the process because it's so inconceivable to me.

I havent listened to anything but want to give my take on things

I spoke on this a bit before a bit but WWE is lacking in Viral Moments. The Attitude era was filled with them. Everything the Rock said and every Catchphrase became a viral moment. But its very hard to CREATE a viral moment inorganically. You have to have charisma and something that feels right to the person. Broken Hardys were a viral moment. Why? Because it was things that they thought of like all their life and had a chance to showcase it. A viral moment can basically be something as easy as an Inside Joke that you have with yourself that you show to the world and the connect with it.

They dont have people that understand Viral moments

And when one does come they drive it into the ground. Suplex City? Organic viral moment that just happend. Its Brocks entire persona at this stage. Brock their biggest draw they have, no one wants to see him

I didnt expect to take this in thie direction when I started writing this, but its WHY Becky has such a high cieling right now. She is channeling her inner Connor Mcgregor, who like the Rock is a waling Viral Moment. If they have faith in her and let her run, she can smash the cieling and be THE Big thing.

By the way I am in complete favor of them adding finishers to Becky. Let he tell Charlotte to Be the Man you have to beat the man and then tap her out with a figure 4. Or go full naked no veild and just straight up give her Stunner

Isn't this process totally busted and a waste of time when one guy can get the script and change a ton of stuff at the last second?

Like I don't understand how Jimmy Jacobs could say all the things he said and then not realize how fucking insane it sounds to any normal person outside of the McMahon hivemind.

That's what promo class in NXT is though! They make up their own promos and then get critiqued on it! It's when they get to the main roster they say "Oh, you take this promo and read it." It sort of sounded like Jimmy Jacobs works with the guys and asks for input on the promos, but I can't honestly believe it's that simple when you get some of the really bad promos and segments like all of this Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins stuff.

the problem came out in a couple of second bit where he says, paraphrasing, that it has to be super scripted because the guys wouldn't know what to say in a 15 minute promo in the ring every week otherwise

well

maybe we need less 15 minute promos in the ring then?
