From the subreddit, it doesn't seem like there's any indication they had a big blow-up argument or anything. Most folks there are assuming the relationship has been degrading for a long time and they finally just gave up.

Watching Matt attempt to play Kingdom Hearts is exhausting though. He literally doesnt understand that red is fire, blue is blizzard etc. He gets confused on the menus and doesnt understand anything. Idk what happened but ever since RE7 hes become insufferable. Woolie and Pat are great though and Ill be following them for sure.

I've been a pretty big fan of the channel like... since they were working on the Resident Evil 2 LP, so I'll probably come off as a little much, but I hope you guys bear with me a little.

I'd say I saw this coming when each of them got more involved in their own personal channels, or when Liam left the channel, or when YT goes cracking down on monetizing, but honestly this is one of those things I didn't want to believe would happen.

This is gonna leave a bit of a hole in my life. I'm still a little bit in a state of shock. Sure, I can always watch their own personal content, but it won't quite be the same without the chemistry they all had with each other.

Kinda like a divorce.

I'm sure this is one of those things that won't really hit me until 3PM or 9PM today when I'm thinking of bringing up their video, or on Tuesday when I look to see the podcast. If nothing else, this will provide me with more free time to explore different content, different podcasts, etc. At the end of the day, it's not that much, but it's there.

I'm sure they knew on Friday when their Smash Ultimate video didn't go up.

I watched their Telltale stuff. Until Dawn was a great playthrough too and the Cage games were good for a laugh. Was looking forward to seeing them play smash ultimate too...

Was never super into them, mostly since a lot of their content is anime-focused and I don't like anime but the banter was always great, so I watched some of their more 'premiere' LPs like Dark Souls and Cage games. All that to say, it ain't the end of the world to be but it is still disappointing, however I gotta give them kudos for doing this with minimal drama.

What I'll also say, though, is that it's sobering to see a channel with 750,000 subscribers coming to an end. Like, all these channels have to end at some point, right? They can't go on forever. Will people be watching 50-year-old LPers in 20 years? Probably some, I guess, but not all. I'm wondering if we're going to see more channel retirements in the future.

I get that. I also know that I wouldn't have many of the wonderful friends I have now without work circumstances bringing us together. They had a chemistry that was obviously enough to build a channel on. I'm just sad that that's all spent.

This sucks a lot for me, I was a huge fan for a long time, near the beginning, and listened to all the podcasts. Every Tuesday morning at 5 am I would wake up and download the podcast before work so I can listen on the drive. Just yesterday I started watching the Star Trek play through and it was great, and Pat and Matt sounded like they were having fun.

I was also really looking forward to the Smash Bros video, and I believe the last podcast Pat mentioned how he unlocked all the characters for the Smash video, so this wasn't known to them before Monday. But then the last non video tweet they posted on their Best Friends Twitter was on the 14th:

Sorry folks, FNF had to be cancelled tonight due to urgent circumstances.

I thought it was like a family member got sick/died on recording day, but it was likely the day they planned this breakup announcement.

Damn man. I really like the chemistry between the three. I don't follow all their stuff, but I've finished a couple of their series like the Cage and Tony Hawk games and they're great fun.

Can't believe it happened so suddenly, but at least it's quite a peaceful break up. Can only hope for the best for them.

Plus Matt and his wife are pretty hardcore sjws with what they post on twitter compared to Pat and Paige which are pretty normal. (Excluding the mustard and sandwhich thing)

End of an era, this is still hard for me to get over.

Honestly the one and only group of internet people that will really hit me hard when they disband is the Redlettermedia group. I know they can't continue forever. They seem to be more and more tired of it all as time goes on as it is.
