Not ready for any of this four, the one I might have a shot at is Manticore but fighting a 5* Magicite without a chain is miserable, and his Savage mode reduces damage.

Also I need more crystal water for the fire/ice DPS characters.

Argh, I'm super jealous of your Terra AOSB.

My ice teams seem stronger than my fire teams, since I have 2 ice chains (Rinoa and Laguna) and no fire chains. Maybe I'll get lucky in the ROP today and tomorrow?? (lol, no)

Unless I get a fire chain in the VI or V draw, I'm pretty sure my magicite progress ends here.

My magic ice is actually decently strong. Some good USBs for Rinoa and Ysayle. Rinoa even has her AOSB. But Chupon is a dps race, and I don't think I can be fast enough wizhout chain

Man all of these new Magicite are awful, they weren't kidding when they said they keep getting harder, this game sure has a way of making you feel defeated...

The best I can do is against Typhon, but geez, giving him a Savage mode that reduces damage is fucking cruel. The chain runs out before he starts snorting, assuming Ysayle or Palom aren't dead from 5000+ aoes (I need HP crystal waters for them ASAP) Is there even any ice magic osbs besides Rinoa AOSB?

Looks like I need to beat Mateus in order to break that Savage mode, but no fire chain is a pain.

I still haven't managed to kill Belias yet :/ I can't fit in enough mitigation and buffing at the same time, since I have no +water magic weapons and don't have Strago's chain, I need to carry a bard song to boost my magic. And that's on top of Fabula Raider to get haste and give me one magic boost.

I just got Gogo (V) BSB on the daily draw. This... actually seems like a pretty useful burst? It's my first +water rod, and he can mimic my other casters' 6* spells for free? I think I need to try him in my Belias team.

Gogo doesn't have a legend dive yet so I wouldn't bring him to Belias unless you're really desperate for a mage with water infusion.

Tried Manticore a few times today, and even without a chain I came really close, main issues is hones (I need to r5 meltdown and chain Fiaja) and the fact he goes into savage mode every 4 actions which is BS! He's honestly not even that hard, just tanky as fuck and that dumb savage mode damage reduction lets him stall me out of hones and leaves me a sitting duck. Phoenix being weak and not being able to break savage beyond his first summon sucks too.

Man this boss is so fucking stupid in the third phase, trying all sorts of strats and the closest I got was Krile spamming imperils, but I can't seem to survive the constant Savage Icestorms that keep removing haste, Elara's ATB bar doesn't fill up in time before he rushes down my team and kills 2-3 members, Last Stand doesn't help either since he's constantly putting sap on my party. Can't damage reflect cheese this guy either since he gets the benefit of going into savage mode before the damage bounces back at him. Grrr.

What's really frustrating is how easy this guy is for the first two phases, the fight is mostly boring before that.

And Phoenix sucks! Even with 6 imperils he still can't break the savage mode.

Oh well, hopefully the RoP will cheer me up...

I'm basically stalled out on Magicite, it's kind of lost its appeal for me to struggle through it. Unless I manage to 100 gem the water magic chain tomorrow I might have to end up putting it off until the 4th anniversary.

Ahhhh I finally beat Manticore! Tried it with Edge for USB0 since it seems like the only other way of getting through the last phase is either two AOSBs or USB0 to counter each icestorm (one of the rare fights where the haste is the most important part of the soul break) Main issue is also running out of hones so I need doublecasts, especially during the times savage mode is broken (for like 2 seconds...)



Almost didn't expect to win that one since I was on my last legs, OK was out of meltdown, Elara didn't have the meter, and I had to bank that magic pixel on a smoldering fire and thankfully the gamble pulled off!

Whew, Belias down. I tried a party with Minfilia where the plan was to use her USB buff initially, MBD to mitigate damage, use her SSB for last stand, and then use finally use her BSB for its dispel command. But in the end I didn't have enough SB for the BSB (I had to refresh her USB first) and ended up getting barely killed.

So I tried a good old fashioned 2 healer build and it worked. Eiko's healing USB gave the initial haste and last stand, then she used bard protectga and Mage's Hymn to buff the party, while Elarra used Lunar Leviathan for some SB and supplemental damage, and Allegro con Moto to make everyone go fast. Now just need to see if I can repeat it 3 more times.

I got Lulu's unique off the daily today, not great these days but maybe the resistance buff will help someday? (Not against Typon though, all his attacks are piercing.)

Mine was only 1/11 though. Still it's a really good relic, fire boosting whip too (even though only her, Rydia, OK and Quistis will really make much use of it.)

Also I just found out Hilda, Ursula and Relm can equip whips for some reason. Though I guess Relm is kinda the "beastmaster" of FF6.

I had the most clutch win ever today in this game against Manticore. I only had 1 member left alive through last stand, infected with Sap, had haste removed and her ATB bar wasn't going to make it in time before either sap killed her or Manticore attacked, and I was groaning that I was so close... but then Phoenix swooped in and did 7000 damage and killed Manticore



And I still need two more before the fest so I can level them up during the golden ticket feasts.
