Background: A Michigan Funeral Home fired a woman after she told the owner she was transitioning. The EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) successfully argued her case before the Sixth Circuit and won the case that this was against federal law for sex discrimination.

But the DoJ is arguing to SCOTUS that the Sixth Circuit got it wrong and that the law banning sex discrimination doesn't cover transgender bias. ...And the DoJ has the sole authority to represent the government before SCOTUS. They're also asking SCOTUS to take up two other related cases on the issue.

They argued she violated dress code by not wearing clothes corresponding to her birth gender and that if they allowed her to continue working it would "distract mourners." When that was rejected they further argued that allowing her to continue working would violate their religious beliefs.

That is a tricky case for sure.

It will probably rule against the lady and for the owners, but it maybe says that something needs to be in place though.

It still is tricky though because I suspect the real reason for the firing is that they being a group of devout worshippers that this presence would have cost them a lot of business and maybe put their business out due to their clientele's views.

Really, really tricky. We see a lot of places lately that have been firing people for their actions and views completely out of the workplace. This action also enters into the workplace.

Not sure how to get the right protections in place to cover this.

I would almost think this should fall under being accommodating of a disability in a way.

Honestly, conservatives that believe in any sort of conspiracy theory related to the government.

Obama wasnt exactly a game changing president, and to call him a communist liberal is laughable. Hillary lost to a glorified game show host and likely would have lost the electoral college and the popular vote to an actual politician. Heck, if we didnt have the 22nd amendment, I dont think Obama wins a third term.

Plus, if there is a Deep State funded by George Soros, he better ask for his money back because judging by their results they seem as effective as Boris and Natasha. Frankly, conservatives have it made and this is the best time I can think of to actually be a conservative. They seem to be reaching for something to get mad about instead of going damn it feels good to be a Gangsta. Maybe one of the things is what Not_A_Owl said in response to my question. It could make sense but I dont know how effective they can actually be in changing things with their vote.
