You can install point of use water treatment systems for your building. Generally pipes in the building are much newer and do not have lead to worry about. I design and sell commercial water treatment systems for a living.

I have designed and sold systems to schools, but generally these are a simple combination of chlorination, media filtration, and maybe softening if water is hard. Most of the schools I deal with are on wells and not a city source.

I don't know how many schools are in Flint but I bet that much money won't come close to covering all the cost but at least something is being done.

A British diver said that it was a PR stunt and some other nasty stuff and told him to shove the sub up his ass, I really have no idea why he responded with such hostility, but then musk called him a pedo and actually stuck by it for a while before his company/investors made him apologize. Makes me wonder if he actually knows something about that dude, or he was just pissed someone was shitting all over him just for trying to help. I mean no one has demonstrated that the sub couldn't have helped, and one diver had already died In the rescue effort so idk why people were saying they didn't need help.

That's why I assumed they said it wouldn't work, but I'm also thinking that it doesn't have to reach all the way to the kids to at least be useful. Regardless, if it doesn't work there's no reason to shit on the dude for trying to help, especially when there had already been a death.

It has nothing to do with internet haterism. People have had their own perceptions and opinions of others intentions and motives for doing something since the beginning of mankind. As I said, it was a generous contribution (and he has been not the only one by far to contribute despite the delusions of grandeur displayed in this topic) but I feel like he has selfish motives for doing things like this, especially after everything that has gone down recently...

He attacked the media (well, not attacked so much as he said they should be held accountable and rated based on reliability). The media responded by writing hit pieces. The people following him on twitter all saw the public opinion turn against him in real time.

After the hit pieces went out he got pissed and became kinda caustic in his interactions with people who criticized him online. Cue him calling a diver a pedophile after said diver accused him of only doing the mini-sub thing as a PR stunt. That kinda sealed the deal.
