GAMERJET 09/25/18 5:41:11 AM #1:	the more I'm around people who carry visible firearms, the more I realize the majority of these people shouldn't have access to firearms in the first place. The reason I say this is based on first seeing these persons entering a business where I work displaying their visible firearms and constantly setting off our EAS (Electronic Alert System) upon entry, and then speaking with these persons and listening to some of the things that come out of their mouths. I'm not a certified doctor, but I can tell you that a majority of these persons should not have access to these weapons. I hear a counterpoint a lot of 'well, they could save your life in the event of a robbery'. Yeah, but they are also just as likely to hit an innocent while trying to play hero. I'm really just venting/thinking out loud after interacting with another one of these persons today. If people had any concept of how big 325,000,000 people is as a number compared to the 34,000 deaths caused annually from guns, it seems much smaller than it is. Then you also have to consider that the majority of gun crime sticks to certain areas. Murders outside of gang BS are comparatively few, and fewer still are deaths caused by carelessness. You are statistically more likely to die in your bathtub, shower, or swimming pool (not even combined, choose any one) than to be killed by a gun. With that out of the way, everyone who is not a felon, abuser, drug addict, illegal alien, or a confirmed danger to the public, should have at least one gun. As has been said many a time before now, an armed society is a polite society. If everyone on the street COULD have a pistol on them, then mugging people becomes a bit too risky. Why should women and the elderly be expected to outrun or outfight a criminal who could bench press them? Should everyone sit around waiting to become another statistic? There have been several times where I had needed a gun, and didn't have one. Didn't end well, either.
