You really don't have any leverage to pull with just a master's or even a PHD, if you don't have industry experience.

This is generally not true and highly dependent on your area of study.

yes it depends on your study and certain positions like say a scientist. But odds are stacked against you if you expect something high out of the gate vs someone who has more experience.

I remember graduating with a liberal arts degree and legit expecting to get $30-40,000 a year($15-20 an hour) in some office job and thinking i would be happy with it.

I didn't get that. I got a shitty manufacturing job that paid in between but with terrible hours and environment.. And then I did data entry and started making $10 an hour. I was foolish to think I'd make so much out of the gate like that. Finally after a couple years I decided to go back to school and do STEM, though I just got a certificate from a community college, but it got me into entry level jobs with other people from those STEM majors which was crazy. I had to work my way in a few jobs in the field and I'm here today making okay money(relatively speaking but 2x as much as as I was expecting when graduating with a liberal arts), but of course i can do better.

All i have to say to everyone who is in college right now... Throw your entitlement right out of the door. Do not come out of graduation thinking you are entitled to a certain amount just because you have that degree. With zero industry experience, you're gonna have to start low first and build your way up. Some people get legit lucky and get into jobs that pay higher than average for an entry level position, but they still complain they're getting sustainability low wages, which is fucking ridiculous. I know the standard of living has gone up, especially in my state, but what they're making in the industry at the company was a lot higher than the average entry level position, despite not being able to able to afford one bed room apartments and had to rent a room(well shit, that's most of the u.s. in big cities anyway).

It varies depending on area, obvs, but 52k right out of college sounds relatively good imo. I don't think most people or even most college graduates get that.

Due to inflation, 52k doesn't go nearly as far as it used to, but it's not like jobs are paying more to compensate for that. The market has only gotten more competitive and exclusionary.

Well yeah I'm talking about if you want a high paying job right out of school like TC does

If you don't have any relevant work experience, good luck getting 80k. 52k is actually fairly decent for an entry level position.

In my line of work, the starting entry level salary was around $50k. The managers probably don't even make 80k. So if you keep demanding a higher salary than a manager because it says Masters on a piece of paper, you'll be unemployed for a long time.
