Playing it again on PS4 and Im actually enjoying it. I mean yeah, the dialogue options are pretty terrible and Boston is a boring location but its still a solid game.

It wasn't bad. I liked that you didn't have to choose one skill over the other in it but obviously would have made it too easy if you leveled enough.

beat the hell out of 3, but yeah it's got some flaws. nothing horrible enough to make it not fun, though. i actually like boston.

I find that with Bethesda RPGs you really have to let your imagination take control and try to actually roleplay. When I do that I can get immersed and play for hours. If I'm not in that mindset I get bored within the first five minutes.

I try to do that but then the dialogue options in Fallout 4 take me right out of it.

Im sure that 76 is just a gimmicky thing to appease the online multiplaying losers. Similiar to the many elder scrolls variations. Fallout 5 is on the horizon. As is the new Elder Scrolls. Coming at u in 2025.

Also, I started with Fallout 4 and worked my way backwards.

My ranking?

Fallout NV, Fallout 4, Fallout 3

Its close tho. There are things that F4 does exceptionally well when compared to 3. The story is better, gameplay is better, and obviously graphics. However, the location in 3 is better, dialogue options in 3 are better, and a side missions are sorta better. I can say with certainty that i enjoyed F4 dlc more than F3s.

I thought the Boston setting was great. More realized downtown area than in Fallout 3, with verticality. And they did a decent job mixing it up with beach areas, swamps, forests, suburbs, etc. New Vegas is my overall favorite, but FO4 is pretty solid. Fallout 3 might be my least favorite, behind the isometric games.

I'd probably rank them NV > 2 > 4 > 1 > 3

I liked it more the more I played it. Although I never beat it completely because I kept getting distracted with side missions.

Played on PS4 but I'm sure is it's way better on PC.

My only gripe was the large amount of bugs and glitches that Bethesda always has in their games and no one seems to care about because "there's so much to do"

Hehe. So like the black sheep of the Fallout series? I think some Deus Ex fans viewed DX: Invisible War as kinda the same. Enjoyable game but not a good Deus Ex game. I'll probably get about to playing Fallout 4 after I feel I'm done with Skyrim as I keep getting sidetracked with re-exploring or doing loot runs that I don't even need.

I think it's a pretty good open-world action game as long as you don't think too hard on it, and especially after you mod it a fair bit.

But I'd say it's a bad sandbox game, a terrible RPG, and a god-awful Fallout game. So it really depends on which of those four you're looking at.

Yeah sort of. It's like... heck you have a Baldur's Gate quote in your signature. It's like if Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance was called Baldur's Gate 3. Maybe the game is good, maybe the game isn't, but the only thing it shares with its predecessors is the general setting / aesthetic.

The game gets more fun the higher level you are tbh

Lots of enemies scale with your level and some variant types dont even start showing up until youre nearly level 100

I finished FO4 years ago. Good game, but my complaint is that I don't remember any wacky, insane scenarios from it. If there were they slipped my memory. An example from 3 is Lugnut trying to rob a dirty package from you, from nv there's the quest Come Fly With Me. Fallout 4 didn't seem funny is what I'm trying to say.

Oh, for some reason I completely forgot about that one!

I like the visuals of fallout 4 better than NV, but I live in NE so it looks like where I live so I can get immersed into it more than in NV, which just looked "blah" to me (DLC being an exception), I also feel that Bethesda is better at making stories with the scenery, Obsidian was better at making stories through actual narration.

If they had worked together one doing the story and one doing the scenery, the game would be epic.

Its a good game just find the factions to be boring compared to New Vegas plus skill and perk checks being virtually non existent. Plus the dialogue is really dumbed down

The one thing I dont like about the factions is that you get very limited options on how to deal with them.

No matter who you side with they end up having you destroy the other factions, even the minutemen have you destroy the institute

I would have liked the possibility to end the conflict nonviolently if you were skilled enough, or even the option to betray everyone and destroy all factions.

One of my favorite games. I've got over 2500 hours on and will play it again soon after I beat 3 and New Vegas again first. All in all like most people I still think New Vegas is the best out of the Bethesda Era ones.

Yeah. Thats why I loved New Vegas. The ending gave absolute closure.
