An episode screened for the crowd glimpsed a flashback scene involving Adam, Shiros former flight partner in the Galaxy Garrison who became something more. He is Shiros significant other, Montgomery told the room. They werent married yet, but thats the road they were going down that is, until Shiro made the unfortunate decision to go to space. The reaction to the reveal has been overwhelmingly positive, Montgomery now tells EW. We had numerous people tell us that they cried when they heard the announcement. Theres one woman who said she didnt know the girl who was sitting next to her at the panel, but the girl just grabbed her hand when it happened. Its just been very rewarding. Joaquim Dos Santos, Montgomerys showrunning partner in crime, says they could literally feel the energy hit them in the room.
