Austin Based Spotify has given into the pressure and REMOVES videos from Alex Jones for violating content rules after users threatened to boycott the app if they did not drop him.

They confirmed to have removed episodes for flouting its rules prohibiting hate content that is designed to incite hatred or violence against people because of their race, religion, disability, gender identity or sexual orientation

They said "We take reports of hate content seriously and review any podcast episode or song is flagged by our ocmmunity"

This comes as Facebook and Youtube have already banned or blocked Alex Jones for months and perhaps permanently for continuing to break the rules

He is now using TWITTER to promote his app.

Do you think Alex Jones would be banned on Gamefaqs?

Well, Spotify officially lost its balls and any modicum of respect I had for the service. Not that it really impacts me one way or the other -- the same as the "customers" protesting, since I don't either listen to the guy or use the service.

The only solace is in the fact that the same people rejoicing today may someday find themselves at the mercy of the mob justice they applaud, because these things have a habit on turning on people.

Not to suggest this as an excuse but with multiple social medias and entertainment leaning more to the left, from a business perspective why aren't anyone taking advantage of the situation and offer those on the right a platform or service to rival that of Facebook, Twitter, etc.? Could said service potentially obtain enough users to make them equally big or its simply near impossible with the foothold the existing services have at the moment?

It's simple.
They've tried and that's not where the money is.
Look at all the reddit, gofundme, and patreon spinoffs the alt right tries to start up.
They're all garbage and nobody wants to do business with them.

Free speech is free speech, and the celebration of censorship is really dangerous. Spotify can do whatever they want, I dont really care, but the scary thing is that people like you support censorship. Just because you dont agree with someone doesnt mean they should be silenced. Im sure theres someone out there who disagrees with you, should they be allowed to silence you? No, because its your constitutional right.

The first amendment protects your ability to have an opinion and share it, even if it's unpopular, but it does not protect hate speech or violence. Besides freedom of the press as well, other protections by the same amendment, which people often forget, are assembly, petition, and religion.

Dumb move honestly. Alex Jones is practically a martyr now to his fanbase. This will just strengthen his nutcase platform and make his fans even more diehard than ever.

The worst thing that can happen at this point is for him to stop feeding his bullshit to people. That would just make his fans even more frenzied then they already are. Best to just ignore him and let him destroy himself. Only way to win is to not play.

Companies are run and owned by people. Not sure what you're getting at. Companies are legal entities, not sentient entities. They can't kill people. It's not possible. The people running them can, and even do so in the name of the company, but then they are charged with murder. Not the company.
