I wish they'd done a new story unrelated to Voldemort, but eh. The first movie was alright. My main complaint about it was that there weren't a lot of fantastical magical locations besides the government building and Newt's briefcase, so I'm hoping there'll be some cool places in this one.
Also, it's surprising that Johnny Depp's career is still going when someone like James Gunn just got ruined. --- Not changing this sig until I decide to change this sig. Started: July 6, 2005 ... Copied to Clipboard!

Grindelwald and Voldemort are related storylines. I'm saying to do something totally unrelated. --- Not changing this sig until I decide to change this sig. Started: July 6, 2005 ... Copied to Clipboard!

They are in the sense that they met one time for about 15 seconds when Voldemort killed him. I think this has a pretty significant separation from the previous series.

They are in the sense that they met one time for about 15 seconds when Voldemort killed him. I think this has a pretty significant separation from the previous series. They both have really unsubtle shades of Naziism (I think Grindelwald is even defeated in 1945), they both are evil fascist wizards who want to institute a master race policy, and they both have a direct connection to Dumbledore. I'm not saying Grindelwald is a 1:1 recreation of Voldemort or anything, but they're really similar and have similar beliefs. --- Not changing this sig until I decide to change this sig. Are they really that related? From my memory of the HP series, Grindelwald and Voldemort never met until late book 7... And Voldemort's true intentions were more self-centered I always thought, just seemed to use some of Grindelwald's politics to gain followers quickly...or perhaps to feel like he was carrying out his Slytherin bloodline...

Eh, you have a point, but I'd sooner say I'm happy that they're fairly unrelated (than saying the other way).
