It's either way too helpful or it doesn't do crap to help Moana, not to mention it murderer Moana dad friend. But it does the animal thing right because of how useless it is. If Elsa and Anna's parents were traveling from their home (Arendelle, which is analogous to Norway) to Corona (analogous to the Baltic region between German and Poland), a trip that wasnt going to take very long even in a sailing vessel (they said they'd be back in two weeks), there's no believable way for them to get shipwrecked and wind up in the central African forest. Back on-topic, Moana ended up edging out Frozen as my favorite modern Disney film. Auli'i Cravalho impressed the hell out of me.
