Been really hooked on Xenoblade 2 lately. 60 hours in, and I haven't even touched the other two games I got yet...

That said, I did finish Bakemonogatari Volume 1. Nothing too elaborate, but it's pretty interesting that the writing style in this is pretty much the opposite of the no-nonsense Juuni Taisen. It's full of rambles, but they don't really feel drawn-out because of how they're written. Well, I guess this is Nisio's "usual" writing style, being an older, longer series and all.

Also sampled the short story anthology 15cm Between You and Me (Amazon JP: https://goo.gl/eqdYR3). The cover and title makes it seem like romance, but the first story (covered fully in the Amazon sample) turns out to be some mind-screw mystery. Pretty cool.

Yup, already got that for everyone available by Chapter 5. Right now I'm trying to get some blades for the new party member.

As for Bakemonogatari, I haven't watched the anime yet, so I can't comment on that.

Yeah because of the surprisingly late party additions, you're usually better off not going too overboard with rolling early on because it gets harder to roll the rare blades on a unit the less you have left in the pool. But I'd say there's no rush. There are enough free blades that correspond to their roles to be able to use them without the need for luck.

Like Wulfric, which is the core you get in the story during Uraya, where you battle the giant spider. Save that for the attacker focused person, and the lucky core crystal that you can get from salvaging near the gate in the beginning of Mor Ardain, give that to the tank focused person. And I wouldn't be too stingy with overdrives. They aren't as hard to get as they were long ago anyways. I have like 20 or something crazy, and I dunno what to do with em. And just look up what each story/side quest core crystals give you before you bind it to somebody. There's probably a topic for each core crystal on the xc2 board

Glitter Force Doki Doki cleared. All in all good. Not on Smile's level, but still good. The main cast isn't as fun or entertaining as Smile's, but they did grow on me. The really strong point was the Antagonists. They were so much better than Smile's. Smile's antagonists were fun, but they never felt threatening. The villains in Doki Doki felt much more like threatening villains, like the kind of people that should be taken seriously. The overarching storyline was also better methinks. While Smile could get pretty dark when things got real, I think things got way more dark when things were going down in Doki Doki. I think the antagonists played a huge part of that.

So in short, Smile has much better main characters, while Doki Doki had much better antagonists. I overall liked and was much more entertained by Smile, but Doki Doki was still a fun ride.

Heartcatch will be next. Should have been second, but the fact that Doki Doki was dubbed moved priority. Being dubbed was a huge bonus because I could multitask and not miss anything. With subs, I'll miss something so it needs my full attention. Which will probably really slow me down.

Speaking of magical girl anime and English dubs, I finally got to hear my first taste of the English dub of Lyrical Nanoha.

Cristina Vee sounds great as Nanoha. From the roles I know her as, I think it sounds most like the way she plays Compa in Hyperdimension Neptunia.

The no-name that I had never heard of that was voicing Fate did well too. Yuuno and Arf sounded decent, and I'll need to double-check if they changed the voices for Raising Heart and Bardiche (since they already spoke English in the original). As much as I adore Yukari Tamura's voice as Nanoha, the show itself is good enough that it'll be worth re-watching Nanoha and A's dubbed to see how it is. It's a shame that they stopped dubbing it there and didn't bother with StrikerS onward.

EDIT: Yeah, Raising Heart and Bardiche did get changed after all. Not a fan of the new Bardiche voice compared to the old one.

Yeah, I havent rolled that much. Still using the free story blade on Rex, and I got two nice healers on Nia early on. And if overdrives arent that hard to come by, maybe I should move the tank blade I rolled on Nia to the new member.

This manga is so weird, everytime the protagonist thinks of his ex-girlfriend he's always thinking of some Chad plowing her and he immediately starts deeding into tissues. Though currently he's doing it into a urinal like some sort of degenerate.

Yup. It's one of the few manga where instead of dropping it when I wanted to, I decided to keep going. Sometimes that pays off and I end up liking the later chapters of something I didn't like the beginning of.

That was probably Akame ga Kill for me. I hated most of it, but I really liked the ending because it was an excessively happy and fluffy feeling one. Like it took the only parts of the series that was any good and ended with it, which, good for them.

Meanwhile that one the red blah blah, I like the book? girl, I think Shirley or whatever. And then she basically didn't do a whole lot and got so irrelevant by the end that she literally became like an inanimate object for a lot of the climax of the series which I thought was hilariously bad. This series had negative payoffs
