You ever driven on a busy street before? If you don't tailgate the person whose fucking up the flow of traffic, you'll have someone right in the trunk of your car. You have to take every inch or your car is gonna get fucked up.

But yeah, totally not something that could be resolved by people simply going close to the speed limit (I'm not even asking people to speed or anything) instead of 15-20 under it on a street with a high one. Fuck outta here, you must be the kind of person who does this shit.

This. Fuck I hate when it's a 50+ mph zone and people do this. What I hate even more are the assholes that speed past you because it's about to be a one-lane, then drive under the posted limit. Wtf man?

Anyone else learn to drive in So. Cal and never learned about this two lane freeway thing where the left is passing only? For the longest time I never got these arguments about hogging the left lane and using the right to pass and so on and so forth because there are no freeways here that are just two lanes.

I've mastered the art of tailgating. Whatever it takes to get them out of the fast lane. In SoCal, there are like 4 or 5 different lanes on the freeway. Why you gotta be doing 60 in the fast one?

I think he's saying that, in SoCal, the passing lane is a myth. In which case this is true. Everyone treats it like any other lane or the fast lane.

Usually I get tailgated by fuckers when I'm already going 5-10 over the limit, and I'm also not even in the left lane.
Too bad their shit doesn't work on me. I set my cruise control to a certain speed and I'm not gonna budge even if you're riding my ass five feet away.

As long as you're not in the left lane then that's fair game. It's on them to get in the fast lane if they want to drive fast.

Normally I'd say that tailgaters need to be drug out back and shot but if someone is driving 15 under the speed limit then I'm all for tailgating. However, if you tail gate you're still gonna run that risk of brake checking

It's literally the only way to let someone know you want to pass on a one lane road.

If it's a one lane road, they don't need to know you want to pass. You wait for a passing zone and then you pass them. Don't be a dick. This isn't complicated.

So you don't drive them then. Because passing lanes aren't the only ways you can pass someone. Turnouts are another way and to let that person know, you get on them a bit when they're coming up.

These are the SoCal highways/freeways. None of these are two landed only, so far as I know

If they're in the right lane and there's no minimum they can go any speed they want. Some people aren't comfortable driving fast and they don't have to be. If an older or less experienced person is driving I would rather they go slow so they're comfortable and don't wreck. And if they got drugs in the car or bad license or something theyre gonna wanna go exactly the speed limit, we've all been there

15 is the only one I've ever used. Others aren't SoCal.

These are the SoCal highways/freeways. None of these are two landed only, so far as I know

It doesnt matter if youre going the speed limit - if youre not passing cars, you have no reason to be in the passing lane.

Creating a bottleneck and forcing people to pass you in the right lane makes you worse than any tailgater.

Pass them, that's why there's a left lane. And give them a good flip of the bird if they're going 15 under in the left lane or break checking you at any point.

Some people aren't comfortable driving fast and they don't have to be.

If you cant keep with the flow of traffic and are actively impeding it and putting others at risk as a result, you dont need your license and it should be revoked. There's always public transit for people like this.
