Yeah I'm actually a little confused about why the like:dislike ratio is so bad for this video even in comparison to the other alts that were getting people upset. Lucina actually hasn't been pimped out as much as some other characters.

I personally don't acknowledge any complaints about alts after Ike won that "Choose a free hero!" nonsense. Yes yes not everyone voted, but it was enough that clearly people are fine with alts. Not to mention people literally borked the servers over Hector.

Yeah that doesn't add up. Relative to his popularity, Ike is easily the least pimped out unit in the game. He has:

-Original
-Brave unit, only gotten through winning a voting contest
-Legendary

No seasonals whatsoever. He was also the first Legendary Hero that wasn't a freebie, which contributed significantly to why he won the poll.

Meanwhile, Lyn has 5 different versions of her. Bit of a difference!

I mean I'm not fucking "okay" with regular pool alts at this point because there are so fucking many more Fire emblem characters that exist that aren't even represented AT ALL. Fuck off this with chrom cav, Nino on a fucking pegasus, eirika that loves Lyon-chan, and a fucking flying dipshit Olivia that dances while flying. It's fucking dumb. And I'm forgetting fucking rehashes of Reinhardt and Olwen to sell god damn what, Lene/Ares/Leif.

Fact of the matter is that every month from here on out you'll have two banners:

Story Banner: 3 new guys, 1 popular dude as a new movement type or random way to attack
Legendary Banner: popular character gets an alt too

Non seasonal alts are pretty dumb, I agree(I say this while loving Pegasus Nino).

It seems like IS doesn't have faith in themselves so they always seem to attache a popular character when introducing new characters. Like people have been asking for Lief for ages, and when they finally introduce him they can't help but throw in a Reinhardt and Olwen alt.

I honestly think the big reason there's so much backlash against that banner is because literally the entire lineup aside from Azura (who has 15 alts) and Ishtar are alts. I mean I dunno maybe that's not as uncommon among these hero banners as I thought but it did seem kinda glaring to me. Usually I feel like there are a few more non-alts on the banner

Anyway I wish Brave Lyn was someone else but I guess it's time to give colorless some more draws. I guess getting a Brave Lyn without a garbage nature wouldn't be awful either even though I have no intent to merge one up and think I'm set for Swift Sparrows. I am hype to possibly get a Bow Hinoka-- mostly because I want Atk/Spd Bond but maybe to use the unit too.

The Legendary Heroes banners are always pretty alt heavy. Most of the Legendary Heroes are alts. So if both Fjorm and Gunnthra skip a banner, all four legendary slots will be alts. Most of the season characters are alts. Unless it's Charlotte or Noire's turn, that's 4 more alts on the banner. There are 4 slots for non-seasonal, non-legendary units. In this case, most units are not an alt. So it is a bit unusual that so many of these slots went to alts. Although, Colourless doesn't have many choices to avoid Brave Lyn.

I didn't know seasonals were guaranteed to get 4 slots. That's interesting to know. Brave units are considered seasonals, then?

In any case normal Azura should never appear on one of these imo. She's not really that good and we get so much damn Azura in the game anyway.

But yeah the game does have a bit too much alts in any case. I'm not even mad about bow Lucina as I expect alts or original characters (who frankly, I'd rather have an alt in the case of most of them though I guess Gunnthra grew on me a bit) for legendary heroes, but the lineup is weak.

Actually, it seems like they are not guaranteed 4 spots. I just looked check a few of them and it seemed like they did but the Lucina banner only has 3. I initially misread Azura as being one of the seasonal Azura.

Lucina looks good both art-wise and kit-wise, wondering if the prediction for her ATK is true. I just got OG Azura, so I'm not feeling so hot about drawing blue. Same thing with colorless. Would be cool to get Lucina or Lyn so I can finally have a wind LH, but I need to save for CYL

The calculation in the image is a bit off.

Grima has 28 defense and Lucina did 15 damage. 43 damage before defense is applied is correct. However it also means 53 Atk before weapon triangle is applied not 51-52. 53 minus 8 from skills is 45. Subtract 14 for the weapon and you get 31 which is a little better than the image claims.

It's also worth noting that Grima starts the map by standing beside a unit with Fortify Dragons and Spur Def 2. I suspect he doesn't have the Fortify Dragon boost, but if he has the Spur Def 2 boost, Lucina actually has 35 Atk (Need 4 more attack to overcome 3 defense due to WTD).

Corrin getting a Legendary Hero does seem inevitable though. And Xander, unfortunately. I still think the long term is to make one of each color a Heroes original legendary hero though from the first batch, so I'm still thinking Loki is the colorless and maybe Laevatein or Laegjarn as one of the reds. Though that would likely doublestack fire on originals, and two face turns seems like overkill, so maybe a new thus unseen character as an earth rep (though I could also see Loki as Earth in a pinch I guess)

Overlay that with alts per release date and what percentage of the unique awakening/fates reps in the game are alts and it would be truly dreadful

Like honestly in theory if that 40% was covering almost unique entries I wouldn't mind nearly as much-- there a lot of Awakening and Fates characters I actually like that aren't in the game because we need our 5th Azura or 5th Lucina. Where's Vaike, Gregor, Orochi, Reina, Shura etc etc

Yeah, I echo that. If 50% of the 3DS alts were original characters from those games instead, the overall roster would be more or less spot on. Like it or not, Fates and Awakening having 40% of the representation in Heroes is merited; those are easily the most popular games, and IS is going to target where the money is.

The surprise Ayra banner was also an easy way for them to target where the money is. So are all the really cool unique skills that are locked to seasonal/special banners.

Making money is all well and good, but if you do it by upsetting the fans then there's no point. I got into FEH specifically because I wanted to mess around with Tellius characters. I'm not expecting them to get as many reps as the 3DS ones, but if they barely get anything then a huge motivation for me playing the game is gone.

And just to put my money where my Tellius mouth is, just sank 400 orbs into color sniping for Micaiah. IS takes notes !!

I've now come to the conclusion that the Blue pool is utter garbage outside of Desperation fodder. There's so many random sub-par lance users. Going all-in on Red for a while was pretty bad but this was worse. Was getting nervous after 180 Orbs of nothing, but after I got my first Micaiah the gravy train started rolling. Ended up with:

Micaiah x4
Hardin
Lute
Linde
Olwen
Nephenee

Lute, Linde, and Nephenee are dupes, but I'm not going to look gift 5*s in the mouth.

Unfortunately, your efforts will be in vain because I doubt IS will be like "This guy spent so many orbs going for Tellius, we must double down on releasing more characters from that game!" They may think you were just going for DD fodder

Fair point, my point is there could be a number of reasons why a user snipes a particular color, so IS seeing this behavior doesn't necessarily mean they'll know the reason for said behavior

Sometimes I wonder what things look like when you can see how people spend their Orbs. Disliking a video is one thing but it doesn't mean a thing if the playerbase still drops piles of Orbs on Legendary Lucina.

I'm not going to draw for Lucina this time. I don't really want the risk of drawing two common 5* while trying to draw a LT one, like how I got my second Sigurd trying to get Ryoma the first time.

You have my sympathies as the last 300+ orbs I've spent trying to get Micaiah or Legendary Ike have also been in vain before I started today's session. Just gotta pray the Gambler's Fallacy will work for you eventually and keep spending orbs until it works.

+Atk -Res which is probably the ideal one. -Def is the traditional mage one, but Micaiah is going to be fighting a lot of people with physical attacks due to her unique role being anti-Cav/Armor, and Thani gives her +3 Res to cover up the bane anyway.

I'm curious about this as well. I have to imagine that more people will be skipping this banner than say, if Lucina was released months ago, but IS might consider it the necessary cost of continuing to do business if Lucina still outpaces other banners. People still went nuts for all the recently-released Seasonal alts.

So right now it looks like:
Tier 20 - 6200 (permanent Tier 20)
Tier 19.5 - 28700 (bounce between 19 and 20)

About 5 weeks into the new system we'll have:
Tier 21 - 1800
Tier 20.5 - 8400
Tier 20 - 2100
Tier 19.5 - 30700

So there will be around twice as many people in Tier 20 or higher. The top 4000 or so members of Tier 19.5 will even find their way into Tier 20.5 and collect a crown every other week.

Spent about 70 Orbs on a Brave Lyn and Robin, going after Hinoka. Both are -Spd. At least I didn't waste too many.

Have been drawing Colorless, and Blue if no colorless exist. I'm 80 orbs in and still blank with a 10% pity rate. Luckily a bunch of start of month orbs come tomorrow, plus I haven't finished the event or got all the story orbs from the last update yet.
