I forgot about the realm synergy on the USB amd chain weapons, vaulted them away since FFVII had become a rare realm for some reason.

Sub30'd 240 but only got 35 seconds on the 280, which I would have if it wasn't for the stupid physical immunity phase. I brought Vayne as a mage for the first difficulty but the damage is way too high on the second one (even with Fran's USB2 and a level 99 Seraph!) so I had to swap him out for Penelo for her dance and that Larsa can't juggle hastaga/protectga/shellga by himself so Vaan and Basch just had to twiddle their thumbs for 5 seconds. I even had to legend dive Larsa for his dualcast LM2 even though I only have his BSB. Man this boss is DUMB, too much stuff you have to deal with (need a dispel, piercing attacks, physical/magical immune phases, Sap) and he does way too much damage! This is on top of a hodgepodge roster.

Oh well at least I got enough rubies for Chain Firaja.

In my opinion it's okay but not that great. We're only about a month away from a format change where banners will go from four 6* to five 6*. Also most banners will have some number of glints in place of BSBs which is usually an improvement.

IF you like Fran this banner becomes better, but since breakdowns are pretty worthless against Magicite I pretty much write her off.

Next FF12 banner has the new off banner stuff and it focuses on Balthier, who's great for Magicite Mateus but not great for Zodiark since Vaan's the only other fire DPS in the realm (well Vayne and Ashe can use fire spells but why would they when they specialize in Dark and Lightning so much?) This banner is better for Zodiark because it has one of the most important tools- Basch's USB2 and Fran is huge help with the damage reduction but Fran is also mostly useless outside of this torment and if you have Rikku's USB you don't really need Basch's outside of this torment unless you're using a holy team and Ramza is doing chain/USB2 DPS. On the next banner Penelo's USB2 is worse than her first one but good for torment and Garbranth still isn't great until he gets a speed buff. Ashe and Vaan's USBs are good outside of the torment

Yeah, it's pretty disappointing that the next XII event didn't have a second banner. So if you really want to beat D??? this is your best option for quite a while. But personally I don't really think it's worth it.

I got Balthier's BSB on a 100 gem pull. I now have 2 BSBs, 2 SSBs, and a unique for him without ever trying to draw on banners he was on.

I'm not really sure what a good FFXII banner for me actually is.

I like Balthier, Ashe, and Basch. But Balthier kinda overkills an element I already have in spades so I feel like this banner 1 is better than the banner in like 5 months?

Does FFXII get any good fest appearances at any point down the line?

Nothing at all in the next two fests. It's basically now or Balthier banner if you want XII relics in the next six months (or pray for luck on ROP/lucky draws, or use your USB Selection pick on it).

I'm still going to wait... there are so many Torments there's no way I'm going to beat them all in the next 6 months so I'm happy leaving XII until I see a banner I like more.

Yeah. The problem is while I don't find these banners super appealing any FFXII banner is going to have a fundamental problem of it being an FFXII banner. I'm not sure they'll realistically get much better. Like I guess Ashe or Basch getting actual center stage is what to wait for for now. Maybe some elemental pickups and luckies will have some help over time I guess.

How's everyone feeling about their VII teams for tomorrow's torment? This is one where I have some good tools so I'm hoping I can at least hit the 50% threshold on D???. But the team construction is kinda awkward because of the realm's weakness when it comes to knights and white mages (and bards).

My best DPS characters are definitely Cloud (USB1, BSB2, AOSB), and Tifa (Glint, en-earth BSB, AOSB). I have Aerith's USB1 plus some older relics. Dived Shelke is and obvious choice because of how SB hungry Cloud is.

The last spot is the hardest. I need hastega, dispel, and protectga and Aerith only has room for one of them. Normally I'd run Zack but he can't use any of them, and his CSB / imperil BSB aren't that useful with Tifa. Cait Sith has the abilities I need but I have no SBs for him and he's pretty weak. Cid has shout so maybe he's the best option, if I can survive without Protectga. I'll probably have to try a few different things.

I lack a solid direction for my FFVII team. I have individuals who have good stuff but they don't work as a team. For example, my FFXII team was focused on Dark Attacks because I had Vayne RM and OSB and Gabranth BSB. Zack is good Wind, Tifa is good earth, Seph is good Dark, Cid has Boostega, and Red is my only viable Support staff. Plus Aerith of course.

Aeris (healer)

Will be pretty okay. If I can't then it's probably relegated to the 280 bin as per usual.

Slotting in Protectga, Shellga, Hastega and a source of Dispel will be extremely difficult. Maybe I can skip Protectga, if I can kill the arms fast enough.

Frankly, I have no idea how I want to tackle this one. For the previous torments, I at least had an idea how to approach the fight, but this one might be a nightmare even at the D280 level.

I think I should be okay for the FFVII 280 torment, I got Cloud USB1/BSB2 and Zack chain/burst for DPS, Shelke as freebie, Cait Sith BSB for Haste, and he can slot dispel and protectga, then use BSB commands after that. Aerith is the one I'm worried about since I don't have her USBs and just her Super and BSB1 which is bleh. There's supposed to be LM Dream Select tomorrow so I think I'll pick Aerith's doublecast LMR since I'll select her USB2 in a dream select later, but I think I'll wait for Sunday's banner so it doesn't bite me in the ass if I 100 gem it.

Ugh. Most annoying part of this fight by far has been how difficult it is to actually target the main central thing. For some reason my taps don't register like 3/4 of the time.

Got my 30s clears on the first two difficulties. I did actually try the highest difficulty but just got smoked, I didn't even kill the tentacles. I think I'm going to leave this one until I get some better tools (like last stand, for one)

I got the sub-30 on the two "easy" difficulties. I even got my absolute best torment time on a D280 (21 seconds), thanks to Yuffie going crazy with the doublecasts.

I had to dive Tifa with her USB2, which I was gonna do sooner or later anyway, and Yuffie (with Glint), who has uncommon mote requirements, so no big deal.

I haven't attempted D??? yet, but I doubt I could even get to 50% with this team. Maybe when we get the 6* Earth Monk ability.

BTW, Incubus Ultima is a major bitch.

I think it's just easy dungeons where you get wardrobe records that have appeared in past events, there was one for the girls earlier, Dressed to the Nines I think. This will probably be the same just with records for the males.

Can do 280 with a full synergy team at sub 30. First realm I can do this with.

Healing is ROUGH though. I'm using Yuffie USB1 and Aeris's reraise SSB as my aoe healing core. My damage is through the roof between Seph and Yuffie but I really doubt I can stay alive long enough to make any headway in D???

Cloud isn't contributing much. Might be able to bring Red XIII in place of Cloud with his burst + feed Seph soul break meter to rush 50%. We'll see I guess.

Liquid flame joins sealion in 3* magicites that I've gotten 4 of each of the main magicites from. So I don't have to run him ever again. I know I should just move onto 4* at this point, but I want enough to have a lv 99 of each of the main ones.

Stigma Bizarro Sephiroth was way harder than I expected. So much HP to chew through, and building a team to take care of the opposing immunities on the two Magics was rough.

Screw that CM though. There's no way I could handle that.

So looks like we're getting another 500 gem Burst Dream Selection

This time I'm having a hard time deciding what I want due to getting Ramza's Burst off the realm lucky recently and finding Squall's Burst to be unnecessary to have him stomp the hell out of Tiamat with just Glint + Arcane.

Any other power bursts on that list or should I just grab one I like?

yeah this one's tough. last time i had a clear favorite with Ramza but now it's like a dozen i kinda-sorta-want. at least i knocked a few choices off since last time by getting them.

Garland 2 - straight Squall clone and i have his OSB and LMR, though no dualcast and kinda invalidated by Seph/Orlandu
Emperor - +earth rod and i don't have a single magic earth SB
Maria - again, don't have a single magic earth SB. this one is more useful as a SB.
Edge - basically just for torment or maybe i find a way to add him to Tidus/Yuffie
Bartz all - seems like potentially the most useful, but only later if i get something else to go with it. i am planning on pulling on several banners with his stuff in the future (though one of them contains all of these).
Dorgann - it'd be my first +earth armor, and the imperil could be useful for torment
Kefka - i have no relics for him and this is... not great but usable
Sephiroth 1 - could be interesting combined with USB2? i'd have to do the math on that
Tifa 1 - so bad but i have her AOSB and no en-earth
Tifa 2 - something i'd at least have a chance of using if i ever got her USB2
Yuffie imperil - for meme strats like killing Belias with physical
Shelke - could maybe use with Ashe
Zidane 2 - i have only his OSB
Ashe - pretty pointless with everything else i have for her, basically just for solo Yiazmat if i decide to do that. and i guess another +mag lightning boost armor. also just on principle cause i spent so much damn mythril chasing it and never got it.

i have healing almost entirely covered but i guess i could take Deuce or Sarah and pick the other from acolyte archives

Burst selects are pretty much just stat stick selects these days, only Ignis is really strong enough to be worth using besides poverty element or realm stuff (besides Raines, Squall2 or Tidus2 as pointed out earlier, but most people already have those) Maybe Reks bsb as well since it's a attack+hastaga buff for Zodiack.

Rude's BSB seems to be a popular pick since it's an earth boosting glove with magic stats and the only earth boosting mage weapon that Red XIII can use and he's the magic earth chain user with 5* Magicite announced for late September.

Also seems like we got gypped of the Legend Materia dream select and are just going straight to the BSB/OSB according to the MVP email. Even for global that's baffeling.

I have no idea what to go for on this one, it doesn't really feel like there are any bursts I would get much use out of at this point. Agrias might help me with completing that torment, but I think I really would need Marche USB for it to help much since I'm still using mixed element team (I have Gaffgarion in the 5th slot). Maybe I finally pick up Onion BSB, or Mog's for the upcoming VI torment.

I'll probably pick Tidus BSB2, but I'm just not sure how useful it will actually be for me. I have his USB and OSB, but no Chain, so the Entrust God-Tidus starts don't work all that well.

Either that, or an element+ stat-stick.

Speaking as someone who has Tidus USB + OSB + BSB2, I have largely replaced the OSB with the BSB2. With 0CT entry, 0CT next move, and the Atk/Def and Burst buffs to Tidus, it feels like a good trade. My Marilith runs (and my default plan for no-synergy strategy) involves Tidus receiving an Entrust on his second turn, entering USB mode, building up most of a bar with Sapphire Shot, and then receiving another Entrust for a 0CT string of BSB2 -> USB re-entry -> Sapphire Shot. It seems to work pretty well. With that said, I don't think I would use it often without Entrust, and the actual burst commands I've only used in endurance fights like the recent Demon Wall.

Yeah I don't think Tidus BSB2 is terribly useful for me at least. I only have his USB and Glint (and OSB and some weaker stuff) and I have been finding running him like Squall by just spamming Sapphire Shots with his Enwater LMR on into Glint -> USB works better than a more traditional meter building strategy.
