You don't need to use both the USB1 and Glint, it depends if you want chases or instant cast for one bar. USB2 is better than his infusion BSBs, you won't use his BSBs anymore unless you're entrusting him

With that draw I have chain coverage in 7 elements which is pretty nice! My physical earth may actually be close to where it needs to be for 5* magicite (my team is tentatively something like Galuf CSB, Edge SSB2 with ninja skills, Celes with doublecast Blast Strike, and Orlandu with doublecast Earth Saber, plus a healer). For earth magic I basically just have Maria but I'll be drawing on fest banner 3 for that one.

awesome, i got the 280 done in 27s with Tidus/Yuffie. only FFV SBs used were Dorgann SSB and Lenna SSB. took a few tries until i got the right tactics/timing/luck. honestly i wouldn't even say the way i did it in the end was very good (finished with Yuffie's AOSB... after the chain ended), just got a lot of Yuffie dualcasts.

makes me feel good about probably being able to do the other 280s and probably skipping this FFV banner.

Thanks for the idea, it worked for me. I was surprised how much Cloud's ASB did, probably close to 600k (the hits were 23.x k at the beginning and 26k at the end, plus 99,999 for the final hit).

Yeah all the torment bosses seem to have a gimmick attack that does 99999 to the party if you don't kill em fast enough. Like if you don't do 20% of their health every X (15 or 10 for later phases it seems to be) of their turns they wreck you.

If you're going to try to take on 5* Magicite, making sure you have enough saved for Chain Stoneja (which is in the 3rd batch of abilities, so ~6 weeks away) is a good idea.

Sub30'd the first two Gilgamesh torments with Bartz, Dorgann, Galuf, Faris and Lenna. Pretty annoying how Gilgamesh keep refreshing his buff spells and Dorgann has to keep banishing strike him. First difficulty I had Dorgan use his burst for a party buff but Gilgamesh was doing a lot of damage early so I gave the mako might to Galuf and had him use his crit boosting super so Dorgann can dispel Gilgamesh's haste earlier and that went a lot better, I was almost capping even without attack buffs anyway (well unless you count Bartz' glint) Faris's BSB2 is actually really good in this fight as well.

FF12 is next and that one is gonna suck hard.

Can I just say how much I hate that Black and Earth are on the same day? Earlier today I mathed my needs of crystals with my currently planned honing goals, and those two types are needed for so many abilities I want.

Meanwhile, you have Wind and White on the same day, where I'd need to do some utterly ridiculous hones to even need more than I already have. Same for Non-elemental and Summon.

I'm surprised you didn't mention how power and fire are on the same day as well, those are the two most used crystals and you're forced to farm one of them once a week. Gotta love Dena for removing the sub30 crystals rewards from Magicite when we need them more than ever.

Anyone else feeling like the game is mostly empty these days? Like there's nothing to do besides daily dungeons now, weekly events are too easy and there's not really any major incentive to sub30 magicite since you can just beat the easiest one for Arcana and D??? torments are too much of investment for a gacha game with expensive pulls and are just pipe dreams for anyone besides major whales. 5* Magicite doesn't look like it's much better since I didn't get Galuf's chain my chances are low of even beating Quezacotl, and King Behemoth is going to be "Maria USB or GTFO!" until Rinoa/Red XIII/That grey haired lady from WoFF's relics come out.

You don't even need one copy of most of them. Just the ones with good entry effects (the imperils, enkidu, and maybe some of the hard counter defensive ones to give you some defense options). You definitely don't need 2 of any of them. You may go want to go slightly hard on your best element just to get your foot in the door vs a 4* Magicite but honestly just try the 4* first and see if you can't. You'd generally want a 4* Magicite off-element more than a 3* on element.

I guess you're in a dead zone between 280 and ???. Sub 30ing the 280 torments on weak realms is something to work for for me, and I honestly think on my stronger realms, when they get here, doing the ??? might be feasible.

I think the torments every 2 weeks are interesting in any case. Definitely more interested in the game than I have been in a while. And being able to mindlessly do dailies to farm materials is better than having to grind out 4* Magicites for it.

Eh 2.0 feels much worse to prepare for, because of how limited you are and how it's much more realm and relic dependant than magicite is. While magicite was elemental restrictive you could farm them for espers with higher boosts and you could carry over certain characters for heals, boostga, entrusters ect or use characters like Bartz, Orlandeau and Sora that are strong in multiple elements, and I even if I missed a major USB or chain on a banner I still managed to figure out a way to sub30 all *4 with what I had up to then. With torment 2.0 's restrictions you get punished for bringing glue characters and have to rely on that realm's DPS, healer and boostgas on tough bosses, so there's a lot less leeway to work with and instead of thinking up strategies for how to beat these bosses it's become planning about what realm banners you need to invest in. These first two haven't been so bad because a lot of us have already invested in characters like Ramza, Orlandeau and Bartz and their fellow natives are strong supports to them but the next one is going to represent how awful Torment 2.0 truly is with 12 being an odd hodgepodge of characters that don't work so well together. You know we're in trouble when the best DPS Ashe is a burden against her team mates.

Also I know I'm in a minority but I still prefered FT torment farming and sub30 magicite for orbs and crystals, while it was more work it was more rewarding that daily dungeons since you could consistently get whichever orb/crystal you wanted any day of the week. Given a what a hone check D??? torment and *5 magicite are Dena shouldn't have taken those away.

TBH I'm fine with the lull we're in now. I can only handle so much magicite farming / optimizing for end-game content, it's kind of a relief to just log in, do the dailies and log out. And at least with T2.0 and 5* magicites, you're not really missing out if you can't do everything right away - content doesn't go away, no wasted keystones, etc. Granted I still don't like the direction the game is headed, but I'm also not too concerned about clearing all the hard content right away.

Removing Magicite farming was a huge gift. With keystones that was only 9 crystals a week, but with daily bonuses we're get an extra 4.8 per DAY, plus 4 stamina potions a week, minus whatever stamina you use for events. On the whole we're getting way more crystals, and by using potions and by saving your stamina for daily changeover time, you can easily get the same 9/week of the kind you want most (now with the option to get Black or Power which we couldn't farm before).

Anyway, we are in a little bit of a lull but we're still getting interesting content every other week which but we're not required to spend as much time grinding and clearing relatively easy content as we were for a while so I'm pretty happy with the game.

I actually really like the approach they're taking with difficulty in this game as it relates to Torments. The difficulty is being flattened by making it necessary to make more and more of your characters viable to master all the content instead of just powercreeping everything already in the game into obscurity. I mean yeah I'll have to wait for more motes, mythril, relic draws, to get all of them, but that you're able to get a good amount of the Torment rewards just by competing with the 280 is nice.

My Earth game is weak and I could use that chain.

I wouldn't.

You have 2 of the 4 6*s, and one of the main 5* prizes. Besides, Lenna's USB is not that great, since it isn't instant. That 2.5 sec cast time for your healer is a real problem.

There's going to be plenty of good stuff on future banners, where you don't have as many dupes.

Finally got around to redoing the endless wall phase 3 and got the last motes. That one is kind of annoying - the first time I brought my holy team and just completely ran out of abilities by the end. So the second time I took my lightning team because all three of my DPS have bursts (Lightning, Kain, and Ashe) and Lightning's BSB2 imperils which helps everyone build more SB. I tried using the burst abilities more early in the fight and saving abilities for the later stages which mostly worked.

My team is Cloud/Zack/Wrathbot (morrow or some such), OK, Aerith

I have OK open with Pusb and have Morrow wrath it up and then give it to Cloud who USBs and then glints and then BSBs (cloud cycle) before opening a can of whoop ass. I have Zack LSing to get added wind weakness on the boss and then LSing again to start a chain.

Am I messing up this sequence because it feels like Cloud with these goodies should be able to knock him down before 30 seconds but I clocked in at 32.

I got all the motes from the Demon Wall with a wind team, tried back row physical water at first but it couldn't get over that last 100,000 damage because of wail and hones running out. My healer was Selphie back then but the demon wall doesn't hit that hard and she often had meter to spare so I swapped her for Larsa since the interrupts during chains were a huge sink, then I found out the interrupts ignore astra *groan* Still I managed to do enough damage during that run with Bartz using Blast Strike during chain downtime to build meter and do a bunch of hits, though if I probably brought Relm first I probably would have gotten the motes the first run.

Personally I'd swap Cloud for Bartz since you got his glint and AOSB, he doesn't need much meter in comparison since his glint is so good anyway and Snowspell Strike is way stronger than Cloud's BSB commands before he can break the damage cap. Also I wouldn't really bother with Zack's burst (I don't even use it in my sub30 Midgardsormr runs) I just use Zack for the chain and have him use Ripping Blast from then on to build the chain. Onion Knight can also use Ripping Blast if you have a second copy. Are you also making sure to dispel Golem's protect?
