Lol exactly. Proving my point, most Californian are weird and cant even handle criticism over their own state that they blindly follow. I grew up in Long Beach, I live in San Francisco. Ive stayed in San Diego. This is my home I can still admit that its gone to shit.

Californians know for a fact that we cant stay here if we ever want to have a family thats why we leave for Texas specifically Austin because Austin is California in Texas.

CA Population Growth Rates:
1990 = 2.3%
2000 = 1.3%
2010 = 1.0%
2015 = 0.8%
2017 = 0.6%

The overall growth trend is shrinking and I wouldn't be surprised if it hits 0% growth in the coming years.

At some point it could potentially go in the negative direction.

The majority of water gets used by businesses. IIRC residential only accounts for about 25% of all water use. That's why almond farmers had to put up a large image marketing campaign to defend their presence in the state.

Why are you afraid of splitting up the states? If those in the rural areas want to leave CA, CA will end up better for it.

Less Territory to maintain while having the richer half of the population is a net win for CA, and Jefferson like folks will get what they want.

There's no real down side to splitting up the states and make everybody happier.

Because that's the national trend, which you didn't ever consider. Population growth in the US is half of what it was in the 60s. Even states like Texas are seeing declining growth rates.
