All the Californians are fleeing the state to move to Texas. Austin has been devastated because of this.

A lot of them are moving here to Phoenix too.

California is ungovernable in it's current state and about to be split in 3, which may or may not work, at least with New California, it had a decent chance of working out well, but this is just pure uncertainty.

Too bad you cant all group up like that, in one place. That way we wouldnt have to put up with the whining and you guys could live by your own insane ideals without forcing them on us.

I cant tell if youre serious.

That's not disputing anything I said.

I see your switch now. You took a comment about trends towards conservatism and liberalism and switched it out for "Hispanics generally support the Democratic Party over the Republican Party."

In that sense, yes, absolutely. There's a 40 year trend of that to examine. It isn't surprising though, given the difference in approach towards Hispanic people by the two parties. If Republicans did less demonizing of Hispanics they'd pick up more votes; though the age demographics would still affect that.

liberals ruined Austin

Very true. Theyve also ruined Portland and Boulder.

Actually it rebounded then the businesses came in an rewrecked it.

Its the drivers that end up being what makes it an intolerable place to live.

Wouldn't say its a switch as the comment is directly related to the original post you were responding to.

But I guess you could say I switched back to the original topic from your switch away from it :p

Honestly, the left at least deserves some credit because their strategy is effective.

They ruin their states like California with socialist policies while convincing their base that policies are morally righteous. So when they flee to great states like Texas, they take their socialism with them convinced that "it will work this time". It's a way for socialism to spread and ruin more of the country.

There is the possibility of the U.S. ending up like Venezuela, which is what the likes of Bernie, Obama and Gerogr Soros want.

Oklahoma is one of the reddest states in the country. For example, Oklahoma City is regularly the largest metropolitan area that votes Republican (most cities that big vote Democrat, even if the congressional district they're in goes GOP. OKC is also regularly governed by a GOP mayor, one of the largest cities where that is true, too).

New Mexico is actually fairly reliably blue, at least in presidential elections

We also had piece of shit Steve Pierce for a pretty long time. Our current governor, Suzana Martinez, is Republican and she's shitty at her job. Probably will be voted out at least. Even Bill Richardson was fairly right leaning which is why people weren't a huge fan of him here when he ran for president.

Relative to Texas most states look blue. The thing with New Mexico is you have a lot of Hispanics who generally vote Democrat, and a lot of people in Albuquerque/Santa Fe area who also vote Democrat. Socorro, home of New Mexico Tech, also generally votes Democrat. But it's a huge state averaging 1 person per 9 miles and all those little hick towns are racist and xenophobic as fuck. So it comes down to middle sized areas to swing the vote.

yeah, but not Oklahoma -- Oklahoma is more Republican than Texas due to the relatively smaller urbanized population and the fact that the urbanized population that there is, is more white and conservative even than Texas

that's all I'm sayin, in the discussion of those three states at least you'd have to say NM is the liberal one

Yeah kinda. Texas is basically divided up broadly like this:

West half is desert.

DFW, Austin, Houston and San Antonio combine to form the "Triangle of Civilization" and they are where you want to be if you find yourself in Texas.

Brownsville is Mexico.

The panhandle is Oklahoma.
