The beginning was hilarious and awesome. The start was interesting. Now the amazingness has worn off, I realized you could run around and shoot people without sneaking at all because there's no hard mode, and it's now feeling like a better Far Cry.

That sounds sort of like the impression of the game I had, at least from what little I've played. It might be a good game for people that are looking for whatever it's offering, but it only struck me as a very poor example of MGS.

You CAN run and gun if you want to, but stealth is definetly preferred, especially in harder missions.

You also get higher ranks for not getting seen at all.

Trust me, the more you explore and develops new things, the funnier it becomes.

Wait till you get the other 2 buddies (the 3rd is D-horse). It'll completely change the way you play the game

The only reason that's a negative to me is every other MG game I played has been "hide or you're dead", and that was cool. I really wanted a hard mode though.

Still, I've been playing it every free hour, the last 2 days and I've got 17 hours already. I played this and 2, 1 I could never get into because it's dated, so next I've got to look at 4 and that other spinoff game that looks cool.

It's not full Far Cry "soak a million bullets from a turret and survive because you're wolverine" easy, but it's close. Snake would never survive running away from machine gun fire after taking a shotgun to the face. That's a "oh, I'm playing a video game and everything I'm doing isn't actually that cool" moment.

You can play the Twin Snakes, it's a remake of the 1st game with mechanics from 2.

Silenced Sniper Rifle + Grenade Launcher + Tranquilizer + dog

This seems pretty OP. Why use a machine gun (or a shot gun, or anything else) when you can use a grenade launcher and kill anything around where you click instantly? Why put yourself at risk when you can sit 100m away and snipe everyone off?

I haven't used boob lady yet.

I used that mech for 5 seconds, I blew up and died without warning. Piece of crap, lol.

Because you can sneak around with a shotgun and blast people in the face immediately if they find you to drop alert. Shotguns are amazing.

yeah, one thing that makes this game so interesting is that features like this are essentially the difficulty setting.

-You can turn off the bullet time freeze mode, and it makes it much harder to stay stealthy.
-You can turn off the red enemy markings and it makes it much harder to locate / keep track of all the enemies on the field.

its a whole different experience playing this way, and I tell people these things when they complain its too easy, or that there "isn't a difficulty setting"
