I don't care for Star wars story for one and just enjoy the light saber battles and what not.

But what they did to like was terrible honestly. After the film his whole character arc to me felt off and bitter. That feeling must if resonated with many fans.

Here's something I never see brought up.

Put yourself in Luke's shoes for just a second. You are standing over a sleeping teenager and you just got a vision that he might be space Hitler (there's actually a great John Mulaney bit about killing Hitler that's a little relevant but I'll save that for another post). This revelation shocks you to the point where you seriously consider killing the guy before he can kill a whole lot of people. Assume that you have (temporarily) committed to using your weapon to do so.

Your weapon is one (1) lightsaber.

As a rational, thinking person (try to put the actual scene out of your mind), how do you proceed?

After the PT, we should have gotten a better dark side fall than Anakin.

They really should have started 7 off a bit before the flashbacks.

Instead we got "Snoke already turned him".

When did that even happen? Was it all psychic? Was Snoke involved in the New Republic affairs that he was able to hang with Kylo and seduce him like Sidious did with Anakin?

Movie takes place in 34 ABY. In 28 ABY, it was revealed through the galactic media that Darth Vader was Anakin Skywalker.

That is when Kylo's obsession with his grandfather began, as he did not know Vader was his grandfather till then.

So in that 6 years, Snoke somehow infiltrated him and the whole Jedi Academy was destroyed.
