Just keep in mind it only works if you have a pretty heavy level advantage over the opponent. Mementos can be a bit wacky about this because the levels are all over the place. I wouldn't expect it to work for you in a Palace unless you're overlevelled.

Experience isn't so bad because with how exp scales in this game you aren't getting much if you're fighting something you instakill. But yeah, missing out on the money hurts.

It'd be an amazing ability if you could toggle it on/off. It annoyed me when I was trying to grind out some item drops for infiltration tools on my first playthrough because the drops were stingy enough I eventually instakill'd everything and had to start not ambushing to have a chance to keep getting the drops.

Again though, since it only kicks in if you're got a big level advantage (+10 is the number sticking in my mind, I would have known for sure on my first playthrough but I'm no longer 100% sure) once it starts kicking in, you generally don't need the EXP from that enemy.

This is basically unrelated, but Yusuke just mentioned Adam and Eve, and it reminded me of MGS3 when Major Zero explains Adam and Eve to Snake as if this was some obscure piece of information but no one ever explained what Kuwabara meant.

MGS3 is still the best game in the series, though. A few misses in terms of bosses, but otherwise it's basically perfect.

I went to do Mishima's confidant, but it didn't go up. Instead we talked to his shadow and didn't do anything. But man, do I want that +experience bonus his next level offers.

One weird thing about this game is how they keep it so Japanese, including leaving in those classroom questions about Japanese culture that no one outside of Japan could ever hope to answer, but obviously localized the movies and DVDs with Western stuff. Unless Beverly Hills 90210 is secretly popular in Japan.

Stepping in here. Those accessories are godly (+7 SP every time the character gets a turn) but if you think you can hit Rank 7 with Takemi before you'll need to get them, do that. It cuts her prices in half.

Using the phone to call Kawakami is exclusively for her Confidant. If you want her to do laundry, what you want to do is head to the laundry place, put in whatever you want to clean, choose to run the wash and then you'll have the option to call her to take care of it for you. Keep in mind having her perform a task for you like this means you can't spend time with her towards her confidant link even if she was otherwise available that night. On the other hand, you can have her do these tasks for you any day not just those where she's available for her confidant.

Also, if the task you're calling her for is inside Leblanc, like making coffee (like with laundry you would interact with the coffee machine and if you try to make coffee you'll get the option to call her), Sojiro will leave and thus be unavailable as well.

Notes are just a representation of points. They're not 1 = 1, 2 = 2, 3 = 3.

They're actually a range. I'm not 100% sure of the exact amounts, but 2 notes for example could be 3 or 4 actual points. So even if you get 2 notes either way, using Chihaya's ability will make it level faster.

I'm 100% positive. That's how its worked in all 3 games and why small gifts work in the first place in P3 and P5.

EDIT: IIRC the amount of sparkles you get next to the notes in P5 denotes how much better it is than just being the 'base amount'.

Ah, I did some looking around myself too and it seems the ~research~ progressed since when I played at release and you are correct.

Oh, based on that updated ranking I'm guessing you officially started Fortune/Chihaya's link.

Her Rank 1 Ability where it says you can pick a stat and have increased gains from it for the day. Quick explanation on how it works because it is not explained well. Any activity that would give you 1 Note in a stat will give you 2 if you have the bonus in effect. Otherwise, I'm 99% sure it does nothing.

So, take studying at the Central Street diner and ordering coffee. Normally that gives you 2 Knowledge Notes and 1 Guts note. If you visited Chihaya at any point that day beforehand and chose to boost Guts, you'd now get 2 Knowledge Notes and 2 Guts Notes. But if you chose to boost Knowledge it's still only be 2 Knowledge Notes (and 1 Guts note).

If you know you're going to do an activity that gives 1 Note in something it can be useful to get Chihaya's bonus for it if she's available and the cost isn't a problem.

Ann started off good, but I've been unimpressed since then with her inability to understand arithmetic for nine year-olds and general stereotype of girliness. Makoto still isn't a master class waifu yet or anything, but at least when she's knocked out she only slightly thrusts her ass into the air instead of what Ann does. Ann's unconsciousness pose is seriously on par with Tifa thrusting her boobs out as far as possible after winning a battle in terms of ridiculousness.
