I'm... oddly relieved. I didn't want to admit to myself that I didn't like the trailers but now that this has happened, I can say for sure.

So now there's a chance that, if it comes out, I'll like the new product more.

I could also hate it more but oh well.

Still, what the hell. This was an annoying waste of time and money and human resources.

KH3 is being released this year, I think.

Who the hell said that

Square-Enix did.

All the more reason not to believe it.

I'm surprisingly neutral on whether KH3 will come out this year or not.

On one hand, that'd be wonderful to finally see it released.

On the other hand, I'm also prepared for it to come out a year or two from now.

I've accepted both possibilities - can't be disappointed that way.

KH3 will probably be delayed until next year. Especially now that I've finally beaten KH2. And birth by sleep. I blame my kids for getting me back into it. But I think it comes out in 2019 for sure.

FF7 remake on the other hand... probably will come out sooner than everyone thinks. At least.. episode 1 will. Episode 2 will come out 3 years later, and then the final episode 5 years after that.

So how many more years until Octopath Traveler comes out?

Not sure if anyone else is hyped for that one.

That's why I'm hyped for it.

I liked BD, good but not great game, so if Octopath is better then it might be great!

Nah, that's staying since that was Square's decision. They're not going "back to the drawing board," so to speak. They just got rid of CC2's work and are doing it themselves.

I played the Octopath demo and that other recent throwback RPG demo from a couple months ago, and combined with that Chrobo Trigger looking game from....last year I believe, I think these retro throwback jRPGs just aren't for me.

CyberConnect 2 (well known for producing shovelware licensed anime games)

That sounded a little aggressive. Aren't the only anime games they make are Naruto Ultimate Ninja and the new Jojo fighting games?

I don't think either of those are considered as 'shovelware'.

And like LtM has pointed out, they make .hack.

That line isn't in the actual article. It's been edited a bunch, so I dont know if they took it out or if Shine made it up.

Also the whistleblower on this stuff is suddenly having all of his social media deleted/taken down. Hmmmmm...

Sounds like the NGG topic was made by a super fanboy trying to find any excuse to spin this as a positive.

Most of the NUNS games are pretty good.

All Star Battle was not a good fighting game but did a good job of capturing the jojo style. Eyes of Heaven was a bit better in that regard

I cannot comment on .hack I might play the PS4 collection one day

.hack is certainly a more respectable series than FF at this point, even without an actuall new game in over a generation.

Last Recode is a hell of a deal.

I thought ASB seemed like a decent effort toward making an actual game. Eyes of Heaven sort of seemed like a mess. But I've had good experiences with NUNS.

you forgot Vagrant Story, Parasite Eve, Parasite Eve 2, strangely put in Secret of Evermore and Legend of Mana yet left out Secret of Mana and its sequel, though i guess maybe one of those was a previous year? same would go for multiple Front Mission games (1, 2, Gun Hazard, 3), Bahamut Lagoon, and Live A Live, i don't know the timeline there off the top of my head.
