I was young when it happened but for some reason Ive had a keen interest in reading about it and studying it since HS Ive read up on most other mass shootings but none of them really give me the same vibe Columbine does. Idk why that is or why Im fascinated by it.

Before Columbine, my best friend made a recreation of our middle school on Quake, including character models of the faculty. He even brought it to school and showed everyone including the teachers, and everyone just thought it was funny and creative.

It still blows my mind how fine they/we were with it at the time.

And the part where he pretty much ambushed Dick Clark because of that widow of a shooting victim who worked rough hours at the American Bandstand Museum.

The fuck did Dick Clark even have to do with that?

Or how he shoe horned those two survivors into going into the walmart and demanding they stop selling bullets.

It was the first one of that scale (it was suppose to be much worse) and it was the first one to get sensational media attention. However neither of those are the reasons I personally find it intriguing.

i find it intriguing because two individuals agreed to it, very strange because most of these incidents are committed by a lone wolf. I wish i could have been a fly on the wall when (probably Eric) first suggested the plan

I wish I was a fly on the wall thru the entire planning and event. Eric was def the mastermind Dylan was simply suicidal and saw it as a way out. Witnesses even claim they knew Eric was the one in charge.

It was originally going to be a school bombing but the bomb didn't go off.

It also caused a stir because of that girl who they asked if she believed in God and then shot her when she said yes.

If you ask me, they were going to shoot her either way. I mean, they were going to bomb the place. Not like they were really being selective about the targets.

Plus, the way I heard the exchange made it sound like the shooter already knew the answer just wanted to make a movie-style scene out of it.

"Do you still believe in God?"
"You know I do."
"Then go be with him."
*bang*

No idea how accurate that quote is.

I was in the 9th grade when it happened. My dad actually paid me cash to give up all my Marilyn Manson stuff, and since I was a fan, I had t-shirts, posters, cds etc. He tosses em into the garbage bin, but I fished em out.
Anyways, I think I turned out ok, but if you look up the shooting on the Wikipedia page you'll see exactly how it all went down,
And believe it or not, Eric and Dylan still made the cover of Time magazine. (I've still got my copy)

This is misquoted, some people claim this exchange happened between Rachel Scott and Eric but the official FBI record as well as the kid sitting next to her said they where shot at from a distance and no verbal exchange was had. A similar exchange was said to have happened between Eric and Cassie Barnell in the library (her mom even wrote a book about it) however this was disputed by almost everyone in the library and it in fact was said to Val Schnurr who ultimately survived.

All it proves is that despite a ban on military-style rifles, violence can still happen. (shocking, I know)

No, it proved that some teenager can shoot up a school and be the deadliest school shooting for almost two decades using a 9mm carbine that the federal government said was perfectly fine because it wasn't an "assault weapon" and further proved that everyone that pushes for an "assault weapon" ban is an idiot.

You had 14 dead kids and a teacher including both shooters and it was the first time something like that on that scale. The finger pointing got super out of hand.
