You know, after listening to Bill Burr, I'm honestly not sure how competent she actually was. Her big plus was having deep in-roads into the political community but, when you look at her actual career, it only began with a term in the senate and then a disastrous stint as SoS. She was actually less qualified overall than Obama during the 2008 campaign. Plus much of her stated policy was atrocious.

When I first heard the Bill Burr bit, I thought he was being overly dismissive. However, her political cachet *was* largely derived from being a politician's wife. I was giving her far too much credit for that association which, again, was kind of built around the basis that she had some insights into the job and familiarity with the community but neither was a solid performance indicator. Of course, she was more knowledgeable than Bernie Sanders but only because Bernie Sanders was a fucking joke who had less business running than Trump. In some ways it's impressive that a guy could be a politician for nearly all of his life yet fail rudimentary questions.

But the proposed wall is theft of both tax payer money as well as land via eminent domain; not to mention the questionable at best effectiveness.

Jeff Sessions, his appointed Attorney General, has escalated the war on drugs, which is the exact opposite direction we need to head in.

I'm both pro free trade and open borders. I agree with your right to an abortion but not your right to pay for it with my tax dollars, so I disagree with his budget fully finding planned parenthood. His budget, btw, is obscene. Conservative my ass. I disagree with the increases in military spending.

So all told, I hate a lot of his policies. As far as his vulgar personality; meh. I did like my 1000 dollar bonus. That was nice. I don't care much about Russia; frankly the fact that the left now wants to complain about collusion and rigging elections is laughable considering their recent history. Honestly, I think if Clinton were president, almost everything would be identical in my life minus the bonus I got from the corporate tax cuts. They both sucked. Trump is what you get for screwing Bernie over, and I'm not even a huge Bernie Bro, either.

For the record, I planned on voting Rand Paul in the Republican primary, then when he dropped I switched to democrat to vote for Bernie. When he lost I voted Johnson. If a third party gains 5% of the popular vote, they at least get a seat at the debates in the next election. We could use more options, in retrospect maybe smoking weed and not knowing where Aleppo is really aren't deal breakers comparatively.

The thing that bugs me about Trumps presidency is how many seemingly chill people turned into my least favorite people to be around after he got voted in.

It was like a veil was lifted over my eyes, and I realized a lot of the people I know are just privileged assholes who sit back and collect off the backs of those below them all the while bitching and moaning in the name of everyone else when in fact their middle class asses aren't affected one iota. They act like everything they have was purely by their own hands and not due to abusing the lower class and the rest of the world. The people who bitch about Trump the most are usually entitled morons.

The fact that 99% of the bashing online rarely addresses anything he's actually DONE that I disagree with, and usually seems to devolve into complete assholes and shitweasels taking incredibly petty shots at him or otherwise resorting to the lowest of lowest common denominator insults, mostly just makes me dislike the people who are against him, and by proxy sort of makes me like him more.

If anything, the Internet has probably made me more sympathetic to him than before he was elected.

He then turned to German bank Deutsche bank for loans which he would later default on declare bankruptcy and not pay back. He also duped the guys who played for his New Jersey Generals USFL football team out of millions by declaring bankruptcy to avoid paying them. One of the guys was Herschel Walker.

To date Trump owes Deutsche bank over $300M in outstanding loans and he hasn't paid one payment in years.

By the time the 1990s rolled around, Trump was a has been resorting to doing fast food commercials with then wife Ivana because all avenues of investing and loans had been cut off to him.

Then he discovered some shady characters with ties to the Russian mob namely one Felix Sater a guy who had an office right down the hall from Trump in Trump Tower and a guy during a deposition that Trump claimed not to know yet he's in pictures with Sater and his daughter Ivanka who by the way had a trip arranged for her in the Kremlin by guess who, yes the same Felix Sater that Trump claims he doesn't know. In her visit, Sater also arranged for Ivanka to sit in the chair in the office of Vladamir Putin.

I have voted in every presidential election since 1968, and this is the first time I was forced to vote independent because I disliked both major candidates. That said, Trump is President, and almost all the complaints about him are trivial.

Still, I have to wonder about the political system when, out of all the people in the US, the best and brightest the two major parties could find to represent them were a reality show personality and the failed Arkansas comedy act of Hil&billy.

I wouldn't have voted for him, but It's better to have Trump be the president instead of Ted Cruz. Trump is somewhat helpful to the left because various republican officials make themselves look terrible by supporting him through any number of times he puts egg on his own face. His own press secretary is sometimes already painted into a corner before the mic is live and evangelical leaders have to suffer association with the likes of Roy Moore because the president defends him. I think there are many republicans who don't relish being affiliated with bootlickers and sex offenders. It's only by partisan obligation they abide his trumpiness, until he attracts such a mountain powder keg of embarrassment for them that they step out of the way. That's my speculation att, I don't know the minds of leaders that have to defer to Trump.

I'm not pro Trump as much as I'm anti establishment.
