This story will be swept under the rug and not talked about because it does not help anti gunners with their agenda.

Glad this man stopped the guy with the knife without even firing a shot, just goes to show not all incidents end in anyone shot, sometimes just a show of force can put an end to it.

I'm glad this happened the way it did, but I don't particularly care for or buy his argument that "my handgun wouldn't have worked because the AR-15 is scarier looking." Pretty sure this random neighbor dude would've stopped just as quickly with any other gun pointed at him.

Good to see an example of AR-15 being used for good, but nothing's helped by relying on fallacy.

Nah he had the right idea in keeping the advantage and not having to shot.

glad he stopped the attack but this part right here is just stupid

Thats not how capitalism works. The media serves to get clicks that generates revenue. Balance? No such thing. And now i wonder how you found out about this story if not the media.

Yeah, because if it were a police officer armed with an AR-15; when he said freeze! and the knife wielder stopped in order to comply, and turned at him with his hands out/up, the cop would have shot and killed him from 20 ft away due to sudden movements, fearing the mans possible reach with the knife.

And then the cop would have gotten 5 days paid vacation after it was determined he couldnt/shouldnt have handled the situation any other way,

On the other hand, if the citizen told the guy to stop, fired a warning shot, and told him hed shoot if he made any aggressive actions, and he came towards him witth the knife cocked back, ready to stab, and he fired one round into his lower abdomen, killing the man, you can bet when the police arrived, theyd cuff him, and take him in to hold him Incase he was going to be charged.

Then, the citizen would get a permanent vacation from his work (fired), due to new criminal charges on his record, as well as the negative publicity, and missing work due to being locked up. The District Attourney would pursue some bulshit charge(s) (because shes a strong feminist woman, and thats what strong feminist women DAs do!) in combination with what the police slapped on initially to increase his overall jail-time in hopes that it scares him into taking a plea-bargain from the prosecutor. He thinks, no way, I did the right thing saving that person and myself, and there was a witness, I dont deserve this on my record. Months pass as he cant pay bond, and his family loses the house and move out of state with relatives because they are rendered homeless and broke from paying the average ass attourney they were able to afford....

***this can go one of two ways, but the end result will always be that your life is riuined...so Ill go with the happy life ruined conclusion***

...so, the Jury actually does its job, and finds him not guilty of all charges. The DA shrugs, and says, oh well, he was innocent anyways, no harm no foul. The guy attempts to put his life back on track, and has to start a new job, at the bottom of the food chain, at a place where he ultimately will never be able to work his way back up to the position he had at his old job, making significantly less than he was before. This, and the debt he incurred along with defaulting on his mortgage, forcing them to live in a shithole apartment, stresses the marriage, and just 1 year after this was all over, his wife seperates from him, and takes his son and daughter out of state, a year later divorces him, and he now currently works at Home Depot, mixing and selling paint all day. He was told though, that after 5 years of hard work, he could be department lead, and get a $1/hr pay increase, so I guess there is a silver lining in all of this,

TL;DR - unless youre a cop, just let people die when theyre being attacked. Our justice system is a complete failure and piece of shit,

No, he's right. Would a pistol have stopped the knife attack? Probably. But maybe he would have had to actually use it. The AR-15 probably made the bad guy think "oh shit!" and surrender immediately.
