This round ended up being closer to 3 hours instead. It's a safe bet the next round will be under 3 hours unless we move to 4 saves per hour instead.

We're also getting close to the top 200, which is when I assume we'll switch over to 2 saves being required to be safe. The previous Save My Pokemon started with 721 Pokemon and we switched over to 2 saves to be safe with 180 Pokemon remaining. Following the same trend set by the previous contest, the switch to 2 saves to be safe should happen at the top 200.

I'm thinking we should slow down the eliminations even more as we continue moving closer to the top 200. Maybe switch over to 10 eliminations per day until we reach the top 200. After playing around with some possible elimination schedules, we could have a 117 round contest with the following elimination schedule:

Starting at Top 300 - 10 eliminations per day
Starting at Top 200 - 5 eliminations per day
Starting at Top 100 - 2 eliminations per day
Starting at Top 50 - 1 elimination per day

Which ends up being a 117 round contest, or right around the 4 month contest length that tennisboy was aiming for.

lol all those attempted Zapdos saves after the round was over. kinda like Tentacruel yesterday.

you know, for a gigantic contest like this i could almost see a built-in rule that allows for stuff in that situation not to get eliminated. like, instead of how it is now, you could have the bottom 30 up for elimination and then the 5 of those 30 that reach 3 saves first actually isn't eliminated. creates more work but "truer" results.

because the sheer number can cause people to forget certain things. especially if one user misses a round and you didn't immediately pick up on it to get the things they normally save. and especially in a round like this where i thought i would have been able to get a 4th set of saves but wasn't.
