It's a select group of crybabies and DC fans that wanted it to do poorly, they stated this was their plan before the movie even came out. That's not how it works. Some critics submit reviews to Rotten Tomatoes and specify fresh/rotten which is vaguely analogous to like/dislike. RT, however, also scrapes reviews on other websites that were not explicitly submitted to RT. When they do this, someone manually parses the review and arbitrarily assigns Rotten / Fresh based on the content of the review. This means, in short, that mixed reviews can skew the rotten/fresh ratio.
