Make me feel better about today.

Woke up horrendously sick
Went to bathroom
Headache was so bad I blacked out
Came too and blood was everywhere
Apparently I went unconscious from head pressure and fell chin first into the bathroom counter
Next 4 hours in the ER bleeding buckets, 10 stitches
Diagnosed with concussion
Get discharged
Could barely stand for more than 3 minute without head asploding
Stomach flu kicks back in
Last 6 hours been going to the bathroom every ~20 minutes emptying bowels

This might actually be the worst day of my life. Tell me your inevitably worse stories that I may feel better about myself.

I never really get sick, even the flu or a bad cold.

But 2 years ago I got strep throat and holy shit, it put me on my ass.
I could basically do nothing but sleep or be awake and feel like shit. When I finally went to the doctor they didn't even do the traditional swabbing for strep, the doctor just looked at my throat and it was so inflamed she was just like "Oh yeah, you got strep really bad." She gave me a prescription for penicillin and honestly after taking a few doses I felt 1000% better by the end of that day.

Physically - Had food poisoning January of 2017. My chickenshit ass was afraid to tell anyone about it, so I didn't have any medicine to help me recover. Ended up throwing up about 5 times in quick succession that night, and for the next few days I was pretty delirious. High fever, couldn't think straight, didn't even want to get out of bed.

Mentally - ... probably can't elaborate on that without getting modded.

In grade 11 I missed a week as well. Were not entirely positive but it was during the "Swine Flu" outbreak and a hockey teammate had it so we assumed it was that.

Hard to say.

When I was 3, my heart was failing so I got heart surgery. Though that was less suffering from symptoms and more of suffering from near death via organ failure.

Fast forward a few years and I was kidnapped by my father. He left me in the care of some women who were just sitting there playing cards while I had a fever of 105. My mom burst in to save me, but I was so sick that I was passed out on a couch, unresponsive. She got me to wake up and had me walk through the rain to some battered women helpers a few miles away. The ladies chased us and tried to get me back, but couldn't. My mom couldn't remember what I was sick with, but it might have killed me if she hadn't come to my rescue.

Then when I was 10 or so I got a bad flu. Had a fever of 104, body felt like lead, couldn't eat, was delirious. Biggest problem was my mom was clinically depressed and wouldn't take care of me. I basically sat there and hoped to get better on my own, laying in her bed next to her trying to get her to wake up.

When I was 13 or so I came home from school with intense stomach pain. Had diarrhea and throwing up at the same time. I begged my mom to take me to a hospital this time. She did, but only after having a cigarette while I was screaming in pain. Turned out to be severe kidney stones. I was so thirsty from vomiting, but I couldn't keep anything down. They had me intravenously hydrated, but I've never been so thirsty in my entire life.

Then a few years ago I was out of town at a convention and got food poisoning. Sat in the bathroom of my hotel room all night in terrible pain, waiting to pass anything. The only thing that comforted me was listening to Summer Wars on [Adult Swim]. Was fitting since I was at an anime convention. Finally I had a bowel movement, but it was liquid like yours TC. I tried to sleep, but could only lie there in pain. It subsided after the convention.

It was a rainy day and I had just gone to a grocery store to buy a cane for my best friend. He drove me there, gave me the money, and I ran in to buy it for him. He has gout so he can't walk when he has an attack. He finally took my advice to get a cane when he needed it. Right after that, I had intense stomach pain and vomiting. He took me to a hospital. UTI coupled with a bladder infection. Doctor said it was one of the worst pains a person could feel. Strange thing is, I recovered on my own before they gave me the medicine. I still took the medicine, but I just spontaneously recovered on my own. They said it was odd...

Last June, I went blind for a whole month. I was hanging out with this guy when I noticed he had red eyes. I asked him what was up, he claimed it was allergies. He was wrong or lying. It was pink-eye. I got it and it coupled with other massive infections rendering me effectively blind for a month. I stayed with my mom for a few weeks while I recovered while a friend from work took care of my cat in her own home. I couldn't shut my eyes properly so I couldn't sleep and I was in immense pain every single day. I got so desperate that I tried some... alternative medicine just to make the pain go away. I was so happy to see little thin white li... After I recovered, my vision was blurry for another month. When I went to the hospital, I guess they thought it was severe enough to rush me by ambulance to an eye specialist on call in another facility. The doctors said if I didn't get treatment when I did, I would have gone blind permanently. I'm not sure if I believe that.

Then there's been several times I've had an abnormally bad period. Diarrhea coupled with intense cramps and waaaay too much blood. Like, leaking through a super plus tampon AND pad in a matter of hours. That's, like, hemorrhaging. That's bleeding out levels of blood if it had been a wound.

I don't know if this made you feel better TC, but I've been sick my fair share of times, maybe more. And that, folks, is how you fill a GameFAQs post right up the very end of the character limit.

You shoulda seen me at the convention. I was in so much pain that I was literally pulling myself on the floor, dragging myself, on the ground, to bed. It was a short drag, but that's how little strength I had. I physically could not stand or even really crawl.

As for when I was blind, I had a blind man's cane to help me get around. I originally got it as a prank, but it turned out to be useful. I just never expected it to be.

Salmonella. I was pure death for 7 days. I vomited for 5 days straight. Not a single piece of food or liquid would stay down. however I had smart water and for whatever reason I was able to keep it down on the 6th day and then on the seventh day I smoked and it brought my hunger back and I was able to eat plain white crackers, first food in a week.

Also no sleep cause vomiting every hour and the lovely fever hallucinations. It was certainly a fucking experience for sure. Probably the only time in my life I thought there was a real possibility I might not make it and not just being dramatic

I don't know. Suppose in 2009. I was staying at a friend's. Around midnight I was hit with this incredible lower stomach pain. Couldn't move at all without intense pain, so I was basically curled up in an unmoving ball, crying, for 8-9 hours. Never went to the hospital or anything, but later I was told by a nurse that it was likely a ruptured ovarian cyst.

I didn't even mention when I fell down and broke my foot. But that was less miserable and more of an inconvenience. I guess I just get sick a lot. I dunno, there are misfortunate people out there who are sicker than me, like children with cancer. Those are the real brave ones. I'm just a slightly unlucky adult compared to them. I get to live my own life while they're trapped in something they don't always understand and their families suffer. I count my lucky stars for every breath of life I receive.

Chemical poisoning. I thought I was going to die. Accidentally ingested something (very small amount) I thought was water as a kid and then was too afraid to tell my parents. It last like 36 hours so I couldn't sleep just kept shaking and was freezing and it felt like my head was floating off my body that was breaking apart. Terrible feeling and didn't go away I felt like throwing up, shitting and passing out and scared all at the same time. There were many moments when the feeling surged over me like a powerful wave and felt like 9/10 on the pain scale I thought I was going to die.

Really scary stuff.

i cant remember any time i was really sick

i guess two stand out occasions:

not really sick, but i got sunburned so bad I had to skip 2 weeks of school. showering was agonizing. i had blisters over 7cm in height. i was a stupid kid who didnt use sunscreen

a while back i got a bad case of diarrhea. it was like shitting water. every 25-30 mins i had drop what I was doing to sit on the toilet for another watery dump. nothing solid ever, it was even clear.
even at night i was waking up every half hour or so.
after 4 nights, i woke up in the middle of the night, vomited what must have been 1l or more of fluid. fairly violent as well.
once i was done with that i instantly felt better. no more watery dumps, no more stomach ache, nothing.

When I was 18 I had glandular fever (I think it's called mono in America). I missed nearly 3 months of 6th Form with it, but had to go in for a week of exams, which was absolute hell.

My neck was sore and swollen, I could barely eat solid foods and any I did hurt going down, I had really high temp and fever, zero energy and just massive fatigue and varying other cold and flu symptoms that seemed to come and go as they pleased. For 3 months.

I'm 30 now and still feel the effects. I get sick much easier and whenever I do I'm hit with really bad fatigue.

I also had food poisoning a few years ago. Went out to eat with my dad, our work colleague and his friend and we all got it. I spent the whole night sat on the toilet, with my head over the bath throwing up into it. Wasnt right for another few days.

My uncle has us all beat here though. He got food poisoning about 15 years ago that left him paralysed from the waist down for a year. Took him a lot of hard work and physio to overcome it.

Well I already have CF. But in addition I caught the swine flu in 2009. Missed two weeks of school. And 2 years ago almost to the day my roommate at the time, my brother, and me all caught pneumonia. Naturally me having CF I needed to go to the hospital for a few days.

The flu was worse. I couldn't even sleep. The pneumonia thing sucked but the huge mucus build up made it hard to eat more than anything.

But now I get random sinus infections every so often. Other than that I'm actually pretty damn healthy. Just gotta cycle on and off antibiotics and nose sprays.

When I was a kid I got strep throat and they gave me penicillin. After 10 days of taking it my body decided it was allergic to it. I threw up constantly and broke out in hives. My feet were so swollen that it hurt terribly to stand.

My parents took me to the ER after a few hours of this. The doctors originally thought that I had some rare genetic disease so I had to sit through a bunch of tests that took all day. Eventually they realized that I was just allergic to penicillin and gave me a shot of steroids. I felt all better within like ten minutes.

Chickenpox
Everybody in my immediate family started getting chickenpox, naturally I got it too, but mine was way worse than anyone else in my family. I got blisters in every single part of my body and because I was a good kiddo and I was told not to scratch I didn't. It was incredibly fucking painful especially because I live in the Dominican Republic and we often get really long power outages, spending sweaty nights without electricity in a tropical country while having chickenpox as a kid is not pleasant at all. Missed school for like three weeks and couldn't even stand up because even the sole of my feet had blisters.

Chikungunya
I got the chikungunya virus when I was in a resort >_> couldn't enjoy anything and I was in pain through all of it. Had rash all over my body, extreme nausea, joint pain... I think I had all the symptoms of the virus, even conjunctivitis. The experience was awful but it wasn't as bad as when I had chickenpox because here I was already an adult, but man, seeing everybody enjoying the pools and everything else in a resort while you feel like you're dying is awful, lol.

I had a real bad combination of pneumonia and a sickle cell crisis some years back. Almost died because of it. It was definitely not a fun three weeks and some days. *I was in the hospital for this period of time, and I was bored out of my goddamn mind towards the final week I was in the hospital, when I got to the point I was feeling better. Wireless internet for my hospital wasn't all that back in 2007, so all I really had to keep me occupied was my DS and like, castlevania portrait of ruin, and fire emblem+fire emblem the sacred stones.*
