Personally I went with Tide's very clever move, turning every Super Bowl commercial past and present into ads for themselves (and they do have a point).

But it was close as I also loved Perfect Fit, Alexa, the Vikings, and Australia.

Honestly the Tide Ad thing is especially genius given all the bad press that Tide's been given over the Tide Pod Challenge

Given how much of an obvious standout those commercials were, it seems like "Tide Ad" should be the new trend associated with the brand

Nope. Tide's Old Spice riff alone was enough to win, and then there were three other solid ones to go with it.

I didn't even realize what was happening with the tide ads. I just looked up and saw the Old Spice horse thing becoming a tide commercial and went "WTF?" I guess people were talking over all the other ones and I just never figured it out. Even seeing them now, they don't really stand out to me that much. Eli and OBJ doing Dirty Dancing was pretty special, though.

I think the most effective part of the Tide Ads came from watching the Super Bowl as a whole

Every time an ad came on that didn't immediately have a brand shown, everyone in the room would right away start guessing if it was a Tide Ad

I don't think anyone else at the party I attended even cared about the ads. The effect was completely lost on us.
